We enjoyed the house, very spacious, the description is accurate, very clean. the only reason why I only gave it 4 stars is because we had an issue with the water, twice. Would we rent it in the future? of course, the house is beautiful! loved the secure location.Owner response: Thanks so much for the review. Sorry about the water, it is fixed now... forever fixed :-)

We had a wonderful time staying at this home. We stayed for a week with 7 people in our group. There house had plenty of room for everyone. This house is beautiful, up in the mountains. The most important thing is that I felt safe in this home and in the area it is in. It was very easy to find from the airport and nearby to everything. The house is beautiful and has everything available to make you feel at home. The house is fully furnished including the kitchen. There are flat screen tvs in every room. Vita the maid is wonderful, as well as Elmer was very helpful. We will definitely stay here next time we go to Guatemala.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We spent 2 weeks at Jim and Carla's home outside Guatemala City. Even though we were visiting Guatemala, having a "real" home to stay in made us feel at home. For us it was the perfect location. It was far enough away from the city to have some peace and quiet when we wanted it, yet close to our driver who picked us up in the morning and dropped us off on his way home. We we arrived we had the opportunity to meet Carla. She went out of her way to make us feel at home, show us the house and make sure everything was just perfect. The house itself was perfect: new, elegantly decorated and enough LCD TVs and games to keep our teenagers busy. We always felt safe and secure. We enjoyed having our family meals together (prepared by Vita, the maid, cook and laundry woman). This house is a winner. Thanks for sharing it with us Jim and Carla!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

the house was much more than we expected. a breathtaking view over guatemala city, wonderful big rooms that include everything one needs and much more.very close to the city and antigua. it became a second nature to 'hang loose' and relax, enjoy time with friends or simply sleep and watch tv. recommendable to mostly anyone with a drivers license. one of the best places i have been to. and i would like to thank you, jim and carla, for all your help! i am sure we will never forget about this holiday and your nice, calm way to guide us through the booking and everything else :-)Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

The house was really nice, it surpassed our expectations from the photos. It has everything a family needs. The neighborhood is quite and private, and it is just a few minutes from pretty much everything. We stayed at this lovely house and had a wonderful experience. The house is everything you see in the photos, but better. Our family had the most wonderful and relaxing vacation anyone could hope for. The house is simply stunning, it is immaculately clean, the cleaning lady is great and the location is brilliant. Just a short drive to Antigua or the city. The gated facility made us feel very secure (although there was nothing about the area that made me feel insecure--day or night). Handicrafts and textiles give just the right touch to this stunning house. Loved how the second floor of the house was all open to the outside elements. This house is definitely a winner. If you have any questions, the English speaking owner is more than happy to help, gave us suggestions of great places to see around the area as well as how to get to the local grocery store, and to and from the airport easily. Will definately be recommending this house to friends and family.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

This home has wonderful views and is in the perfect location, between the City and Anitgua. Jim, the owner, was great about accomodating our late arrival and giving us tips as to the local grocery stores and cafes. It was like having a small, exquisite hotel all to ourselves. The kids kept asking who else was going to be staying there with us. The nicest part was having water you could drink right from the tap. It enabled us to have fresh vegetables and salads. Because of the layout the place is perfect for a friends get-away, a girls get-away, a romantic get-away or families. There is lots of privacy. Would definitely stay there again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We had a lovely stay in this charming house! The decor was tastefully put together with a mix of colonial and modern styles, with interesting indigenous fabrics. My partner loved the the top of the line appliances and modern security systems. In the evenings we enjoyed sitting on one of the many outdoor patios drinking a wine and overlooking the the lights of Guatemala City . The location was on a mountain side on the outskirts of the city and at the same time with a country side feel overlooking green forested mountains. Our friends had their own rooms, all with flat screen televisions. Vita the house staff is lovely and was there to help with anything we needed. Have to mention the amazing jacuzzi bath with a huge view over the valley. This mansion is brand new and has it all! Thanks Jim we hope to be back one day!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We have a 2012 Hyundai Sante Fe (seats 7) for rent, at $35 per day. Long Term renters are welcome
We accept all credit cards, dollars, euro's, local Guatemala currency. Personal checks and wire tranfers as well.
Additional Fees and Taxes:
Rates are inclusive of utilities. If you are interested in Long term, a year or more the monthly rate would be $1800, but would NOT include utilities. Electricity is VERY high in Guatemala as is most everything else. Utilities for this house run approximately $400 per month, bringing your monthly rent expense to around $2200. There is a flat $150 cleaning fee for stays of a week or more.

About the owner: My wife was born and rasied in Guatemala, I have been traveling there for 10+ years now. We currently reside in Atlanta, Georgia, but plan to be in Guatemala full-time in a few years once the kids are off to college.

This is a custom built house with magnificent views of the city. It is safe and secure, with a 24/7 guarded entrance to the subdivision. It is a GREAT place for larger groups with more than ample space to spread out. We have a 2012 Hyundai Sante Fe we can rent you as well, seating for 7
