  When we arrived at Palm Cottage it was very late in the evening and dark. As we opened the front door we were pleasantly welcomed by the most charming and beautifully decorated cottage. Everything was immaculate and clean, obvious detail had been given to ensure the comfort and pampering of each guest. The kitchen was well stocked, baths were supplied with stacks of fluffy towels, high end quality linens and bedding made for restful sleep and extra comfort. With morning light we had our first peek at the outdoor living space and we were truly amazed at the most beautiful "palm forest" surroundings. Heading out for a morning ride on our bikes we realized what a real jewel the cottage location was. Palm cottage is nestled in the seclusion of the cool maritime forest, yet close proximity to the beach, market and social activities. This setting gave us a quiet and peaceful area to take advantage of delicious meals on the bbq grill and skip indoor cooking while enjoying nature around us.The screened in back porch was divine, furnished with ample comfy wicker furniture and the most unique table for dining alfresco. Lastly, I was most appreciative of the most fabulous owner I have ever worked with. I just loved Kathleen, she is such a pleasant lady, concerned for your needs and extremely informative about BHI. We hope to return very soon, because, I will look no further, honey!

  We had a wonderful time at the Palm Cottage. We went for my daughters 13th birthday and she was thrilled. The cottage was beautifully appointed and the beds were so comfortable! The island is so unique and the cottage is centrally located to everything. The beaches were not over crowded and the weather was pefect. Kathleen was also wonderful about advising details of the area and places to site see. Looking forward to visiting again in the near future!

  This was our second year at Palm Cottage and we had another wonderful stay. The house is comfortable, clean, well-located and perfect for a family. All-around great house--we'll be back again!

  Our family of five, including one teenager and two small children, stayed at the Palm Cottage and absolutely loved it! The cottage is situated in the middle of the island and is a very convenient golf cart ride to anywhere on the island! The maritime forest location is definitely our favorite place to stay on the island. The length and positioning of the driveway (wraps around to back of house to garage) allowed our kids to play in the driveway (bike rides down...bubbles in the back yard, etc) after we returned from a day out..we could rest on back or front porch and still engage in the children and keep an eye on them but they still had space to roam! The master bedroom and bathroom were very pretty and cozy. All of the beds in the house were great! The screened in porch is huge and I LOVED the table on the porch...wanted to take it home with me. ;-) The house was nicely appointed and we loved the layout. The furniture and decor is really nice and the house has nice natural lighting. The family room is really nice as is the kitchen, which is nicely equipped. We enjoyed the games and curling up with a movie from the Maritime Market after a long day golfing, at the beach, or the pool. This is a great house and we love Bald Head Island! We will definitely be back!

  My family and I had a wonderful vacation week in this home. The location was perfect, close to the beach and the market. We rented bikes, and it was nice to get out of the sun and ride through the shaded forest. I must admit we usually book vacation homes that are ocean front or ocean view. This was a nice change of pace. The home was very clean and comfortable. We loved having dinner on the screened in back porch and morning coffee on the front porch. We can't wait to come back!

  Palm Cottage was the PERFECT home for us!! This was our first visit to BHI and we somehow lucked out and found Palm Cottage. You are literally a one minute ride to the market and five minutes to the beach. What we loved about the house was that it was clean, nice decor, comfortable, great front porch and supplied with EVERYTHING you will need. We will be back!!! Thank you for sharing your home.

  We stayed here with our young children for 5 days and had a fabulous time. The home itself is beautifully decorated with hotel quality beds and linens - incredibly comfortable. We had everything we needed including a crib and a high chair. We fell in love with the island and the golf cart lifestyle. Shoals Club is fantastic - especially with young kids as they have a wonderful shallow pool for children. We would love to return.

  We absolutely loved this cottage! Beautifully decorated, fully equipped and perfect location on the island! Palm Cottage is in the maritime forest on the island which gives the feel of a wonderful tropical escape. You are centrally located, yet it feels very private. The beach is just a short golf cart ride away (the kids loved this) and then you return to this wonderful cottage nestled in the forest - so amazing. Kathleen is wonderful to work with - you can tell she and her family love Bald Head Island and they want others to enjoy it as well. Thanks for a great stay - we will be back!

  We loved Palm Cottage! It was spacious, clean, beautifully decorated and didn't feel at all like a rental house. The master bed was really comfortable, and my kids loved the bunk beds upstairs. The screen porch was wonderful, with a nice seating area and a big table that was perfect for dining outside. We also really liked the location, which is in a shady spot in the Maritime Forest but still just a 10 minute ride to the beach. The owner was friendly, responsive, and easy to work with. We will definitely be coming back!

  We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Palm Cottage a couple of weeks ago. The home itself is in the center of the island, making everything easily accessible; It is just one minute away from the grocery store. Palm Cottage is beautifully decorated and very calming. The screened in porch was wonderful, and the patio receives an abundant amount of sun, which allows for afternoon tanning at home, rather than having to go to one of the clubs. The comfort of the beds far exceeded our expectations. Kathleen, the owner, is easy to get a hold of, and very friendly and accommodating. There is a slight smell to the house, but I think this has more to do with the Island, as I noticed the same smell at the BHI club as well. I would highly recommend staying at Palm Cottage--Beautiful, peaceful, and serene!
