This stunning property is on the West End of Cayman Brac, BWI. Your tropical tranquil oceanfront vacation home is just feet from the Caribbean waters, and far away from the maddening crowds and the bustle of tourist-saturated areas. While you sunbathe you can enjoy the ocean breeze and be mesmerized by the turquoise Caribbean waters and sapphire surf only feet from your door.

Cayman Brac is a sister island to the highly developed island of Grand Cayman and has managed to remain unspoiled, making it the perfect antidote to the over-programmed resort vacation. Explore the island’s many hidden treasures while relaxing in your own private retreat. Whether rock-climbing, caving, shelling, diving, fishing, snorkeling, bird watching, hiking, walking the shore line or simply relaxing is what you desire, you will have a vacation to remember. Enjoy the peace and quiet and the laid-back island pace in a thoroughly modern and comfortable house that will immediately become your home.

Listen to the never-ending rhythm of the gentle rolling waves and feel the cooling breezes as you enjoy the warm sunshine and stunning sunsets any time of the year. There is plenty of privacy and you'll enjoy the small yellow songbirds and the island's native brown booby and frigate birds that seem to enjoy the lush, tropical surroundings. The visibility in the water is incredible and the coral reefs endless. The low temperature of the water in mid winter is 78F so you can swim all year long. We call Cayman Brac 'detox from life'. The most difficult part of your vacation will be packing your sandals and leaving this absolute tropical paradise and the fine comfortable accommodations of the house.

This oceanfront beach property overlooks the Caribbean and Little Cayman and has access to some of the best diving and snorkeling in the world. Rebuilt and remodeled in the fall and winter of 2009, its 850 square feet offers hardwood floors, all new fixtures, furnishings, and appliances as well as a full kitchen and living room with a large flatscreen television with RGB and HDMI connections, iPod docks, surround sound systems, and high speed wireless internet. This unit is equipped with all the amenities one would expect from a finer home.

Stretch out twenty feet from the water on a lounger or hammock in the 360 square foot beach cabana with silver palm thatched roof. BYOB.

Swimmers, snorkelers, and scuba divers can take advantage of the outside shower, freshwater rise tank, and dive equipment drying rack.

If there are any issues I will be there to help you. I only live five minutes away. If you have any special requests -- be it for snorkeling gear, horse shoes, bicycles, movies -- I can usually help you out.

If you’re vacationing with friends but still want your privacy these units are perfect because you'll be close when you want and still have the privacy when you desire it.

I offer a food option at an additional cost, providing food and alcoholic beverages. For $100, when you arrive you can find your accommodations stocked with the following: Coffee, tea bags, sugar, creamer, 2 dozen eggs, frozen toaster waffles, syrup, frozen breakfast potatoes, bacon, 1 loaf of wheat bread, butter or margarine, chips, 6 pack Coke, 6 pack Diet Coke, 1 bottle of champagne or a fine sparkling wine, 6 pack of Heineken, and 1 bottle of rum. Of course other sundry supplies will be available to all guests and is included in the price of the rental. Isn't it nice to know you can arrive any time of the day, put your belongings down, and begin to immediately unwind and enjoy your surroundings?

For your convenience I have also arranged a special deal with a local car rental agency for those who might desire it. For those who will be renting for seven days you will get your seventh day free. Additionally, if you pay with traveler’s checks or cash you will receive a 5% discount.

Bicycles and fishing poles come with the property rental. You can also use my kayak, underwater sea-doos, and snorkeling gear.

There are public tennis and basketball courts, a full spa, and a full fitness room just minutes away. Inexpensive maid service is also available.

My wife, two daughters and I stayed in the 2 bedroom unit for 3 weeks in March. I did a lot of research before settling on the Brac and Secluded Sunsets. My wife often prefers to lay around the pool while I'm more of an adventurous vacationer. This was the perfect set up for us. First off, once we chose to rent from Henry, he sent us all the information you could possibly need or want about the island, easiest ways to navigate the local airport, rental car info, what to bring & what to not bother with, etc. My wife and I are "planners" so this made it so easy for us. Once we arrived we were met at the airport with the rental car waiting for us, escorted to the house and given a run-down on all the features of the property. All three units are updated, clean and well-kept. The view from the deck on the 1 bedroom upstairs unit is spectacular, and the 2 bedroom unit we rented is very spacious and lends itself to entertaining a larger group. The pool is decent sized, and the sun sails are a great touch to provide shade around the pool. The hammocks in the cabana are great as they put you just a few feet away from the ocean in complete shade, while the hammock under the palm trees near the 2 bedroom unit gives a lot of privacy. While we were there we took advantage of the snorkeling equipment that was provided with the unit, as well as the three bladefish the come with the rentals. The snorkeling right off the house is amazing, full of coral, rock formations, and tons of sea life. I spent a lot of my vacation snorkeling within 500 yards of the house. Be warned that entry into the water at the property requires water shoes or dive boots (which Henry provides) due to the rock and coral and isn't smart to try with small children. There is a super easy entry spot into the ocean a quarter of a mile down the road with a ladder leading into the water and room to park your car, or a beautiful public beach with easy entry within a 10 minute drive that never had more than 5 people on it. We also went diving, hiked the bluff several times, explored many of the caves (Chandelier cave was my favorite), went charter fishing, and relaxed and enjoyed the beautiful sunrises and sunsets. There are several good restaurants that serve everything from local cuisine to more American options. One of the nicest features of staying at Secluded Sunsets is the level of service you get from Henry. He makes himself available and is always willing to help with any questions you have.

This was our third stay with Henry and once again we loved it! The pool addition was really nice with the sun sails offering that mid day protection from the sun. The new bikes are great - I felt pretty cool touring around town. We had a massage done by Elaine under the Cabana - ahhhhh is all I can say :). We also ordered they Cinnabun type cake that's on the refrigerator. It was so worth it. Henry set my husband and his friend up with a local fishing guide and they brought home wahoo, grouper and yellow snapper from their days catch. My luggage never showed up the first night and Claire brought me a toothbrush, deoderant and some clothes. She even brought flip flops! What a lifesaver. Thanks again for a wonderful vacation. We will miss you both!!

We stayed in the two-bedroom unit at Secluded Sunsets for two weeks in January, 2013. The unit was clean, well-supplied and nicely decorated. The view from the property was spectacular and we enjoyed lounging around the new pool and in the hammocks.Henry was most accommodating, especially in taking one of our group on a few shore dives. Secluded Sunsets is an ideal place for a relaxing, barefoot, tropical holiday!

My family and friends (9 adults) stayed at Secluded Sunsets for 2 weeks (12/29 – 01/12). We had the entire house, all 3 apartments. It’s actually hard to say enough good things about Henry and his guest house. The location is fantastic. It sits right on the ocean in a very quiet upscale oceanfront neighborhood. The house has MORE than everything you need to enjoy your vacation. Lots of towels, clean linens, kitchens have cookware, utensils, dishware, etc. Lots of small appliances – our apartment even had a crockpot. The refrigerators with the door ice/water are fantastic. No concerns about safe drinking water! You’ll find many items left by previous guests and supplied by Henry. (Nice especially if you’ve forgotten something.) Lots of spices, cooking oil, and some dry goods. Toilet paper, plastic bags/wrap, foil, shampoo, sunscreen, etc. The 2 bedroom apartment is huge and the 1 bedroom apartments are large with plenty of space. The upstairs 1 bedroom is an open area design with a huge deck and big double doors and lots of windows. The downstairs 1 bedroom is large with separate living, kitchen/dining and bedroom with ensuite bath. All the apartments have front and rear/side exits. Super clean, very well maintained and nicely furnished. The pool and yard area are fantastic. We used the pool as much as we did the house. It’s a great gathering area and the fresh water pool is a life saver after a long day of activities. Turn all the lights off at night while sitting around the pool. You won’t believe the stars. Awesome! We actually used the stone smoker and smoked a tuna we caught. It was excellent. The ocean front palapa with the hammocks was another favorite spot. Just swinging and listening to the waves and watching the sunsets. I know why the house is called Secluded Sunsets. The view of the sun setting every night is awesome. We followed all of Henry’s recommendations and we’re glad we did. We brought coolers with meat and on the flight in purchased duty free alcohol. Henry was also great at helping us with excursions and information. He really knows the island. Henry was a fantastic host and a lot of fun. Thanks Henry for the absolute best accommodations on Cayman Brac.

If I could, I would give Secluded Sunsets a six star rating. Henry has done an incredible job with this rental. My wife and I returned from an incredible week in the upstairs one bedroom unit. When we first walked in to the unit, I knew right away we had found a gem. The living room and kitchen area is huge with a gorgeous view to the spacious balcony and Carbbean Sea. The appliances are all new and the stove is a gas stove - what an unexpected pleasure. The couch is very comfortable and there is a flat screen TV (which we didn't use) with a huge movie library. The wifi has a strong signal so keeping in contact with the family and business back home was great. There is also a nice selection of books on premise. The bedroom was very spacious with lots of closet and drawers - not that we needed much because you bring only swimsuits and shorts. The bed was very comfortable as well. The air conditioning was set at 78º which was perfect for taking a little refuge from the hot sun in the midafternoon. Outside, we had the big balcony to relax in the sun or read by the railing overlooking the waves crashing on the beach. The pool downstairs was a great addition to cool off. The weather was gorgeous. The only rain we had was during the night - each day was sunny and hot. We are not far from the airport - believe me, it is not a busy airport. However, you must walk down the beach to the airstrip in the evening and lie down in the sand and wait for the 737 to come in on Friday, Saturday or Sunday. The jet comes in and flies right over you as it comes in for a landing. It is something I have never experienced before. It is a must do while at Secluded Sunsets. The sunsets here are beautiful. Henry and Claire are wonderful hosts. Henry is a short distance away. When we arrived he was there to give us a tour of the Island, waited for us to shop for groceries and beverages and then personally showed us to the Villa. He had our car waiting at the airport, as promised. His communication before the trip was excellent. We even invited Claire and Henry to dinner to thank him for all the excellent service he provided on our behalf. Yes, selfishly, I want to keep this place a secret so it would be available the next time I want to book. This place is amazing - no, it is more than amazing! I would go back in a moment. The diving, the sun, the solitude and the friendly atmosphere. Thanks Henry and Claire for a great holiday. Peter and Karen, Montreal

Let me know what you think and I will post We were the first people to stay in the upstairs unit after Paloma. This is our 4th year on the Brac and of course we were staying at this wonderful property again. Henry asks every year what was missing, what would make things better, etc. Well after last year I jokingly said "well, a pool would be nice" - well guess what - he went and built a POOL! We ended up staying in the two bedroom this year as we planned on entertaining a bit more. As we have now stayed in all 3 units - I have to say that each one is uniquely special and has it’s own specific benefits. Unit 1 – One BR upstairs brings the views, the large deck and lots of sunshine. Unit 2 – One BR downstairs has the easiest access to all of the outdoor features, a wonderful shaded area under the deck and the pool is just a few steps out the door. Unit 2 – Two BR downstairs. This kitchen is well appointed and has plenty of room for entertaining, the layout of the unit is perfect and the den is spacious with plenty of seating and open area for hanging out with friends. Henry and Claire are incredible hosts and are close enough that they are there if you ever need anything. I can’t stress enough what it means to hit the ground on the Brac knowing we are going “to our other house” to unwind – because that is how it feels. Whether it’s the groceries in the fridge, the cell phone waiting for you or the DVD library – all of the comforts of home are there and you don’t spend half of your time wanting for anything. The pool is just perfect. Hot sun, cool water – and the cocktails are just a few steps away whatever unit you are staying in!

This was our second week and we moved from Henry's 1BDR to his 2 BDR to accommodate them. In previous reviews I have stated how WONDERFUL this place is!!! Henry NEVER fails us! My husband's parents were also truly impressed with the beauty of Henry's place, the tranquility, the perfect Sunsets, the well stocked kitchen and refrigerator and with how Henry runs his rental property just in general. Henry will not ever lead you astray. He is honest and always aims to please. You can trust him!!!

I have to say my only disappointment was having to leave. Absolutely loved the house, the view, and the island and am very anxious to get back. The owner was extremely helpful with any needs and was just a phone call away (on a phone he provided for use). He had so many items for us to use it made packing much easier not to mention his fantastic suggestions and helpful information. I feel like we gained new friends that I hope to remain in contact with and see again soon!

                      Owner info

                      Year Purchased: 2009

About the owner: I grew up in south New Jersey in the States and always loved being in the sun by water and palm trees. I've always traveled and I vacationed here several years ago. When I retired at age 48 I returned to purchase a property. Now I have two properties one on the south side and I am renting the one on the north side. The water is just incredible and now I'm a certified Scuba Diver and just can't get enough of it. The Coral Reefs are amazing and can be experienced by just snorkeling. I can't ever imagine returning to the States. This place in nothing like Florida with its millions of people and chain retail.

Why the Owner Chose North Side:
Cayman Brac is a magical place where you can walk about in the middle of a star lit night and have not a single worry of crime or annoyances. Your family is safe here and you can feel it as the locals will wave to everyone including you. Very few people lock their houses and almost everyone will leave their car keys in the ignition 24/7 and that’s a fact. This Island is so special it has become a vacation destination for folks who live on other Caribbean Islands. The stars will make you stop in your tracks as there is very little background lights to dim the skis. You will see shooting stars and satellites orbiting the earth, you can clearly see the band of the Milky Way. This is a Scuba divers paradise with several dive boats operating daily. The visibility in the water is incredible and the coral reefs endless. This is an island of a thousand people but we do have a hospital and a few police officers. An officer's job here on the Island is the only job better than that of the old time Maytag repair man. They have to be bored out of their minds. If you want to vacation with thousands of other vacationers and to eat at the chain restaurants this is not for you. If you want tranquility and peacefulness with eighty degree weather and sunshine almost everyday this is your island. If you come once you'll be back. I am well traveled and retired from the US at age forty eight and I now live here full time on the Island. I could have moved anywhere but I wanted to live in true paradise and remove myself from the busy world out there. We call Cayman Brac detox from life. Many people come once and end up buying property before they leave. Come here and you'll see why.

The Unique Benefits at this House:
If you see more then two other couples walking on the beach in front of the house in the course of a week that would be way more then normal. The Beach is private to the water line. The peace of the island will ground you and make you feel whole with the earth. It’s a simple and magical place in this crazy world. Ipod docs, Flat screens with RGB and HDMI inputs, High Speed Wireless Internet, Hammocks. Lounging - 360 square foot, silver plam thatched roof, beach cabana - twenty feet from the water. Hammocks and loungers provided - byob. For the swimmers / snorkelers / scuba divers I have an outside shower, a fresh water rinse tank, a dive equipment drying rack. Binoculars and a Telescope. Charter fishing available Caving available Rock Climbing available. Book Library - 400 books
