Orillia cottage description
Our four bedroom two bathroom cottage would be great for a family reunion or a shared vacation with another family. With six beds the cottage comfortably sleeps eight people (10 max).
A picture is worth a thousand words. So we have included lots of pictures and a video to help describe our cottage. Take a look at the video and photos and let us know if we can help with other details.
The outside is ideal for summer swimming and boating. There is a large dock that extends out from the shore about sixty feet, and half way out there is a big deck with swim stairs. There is a comfortable outdoor patio area with a teak table, 6 chairs and gas BBQ. Sometimes there are awesome sunsets across Lake Couchiching.
This cottage has a beautiful sunroom and dining area that overlook the lake. A full modern kitchen, dishwasher, microwave, ice-maker, and laundry room. Year round central heat or A/C, TV, DVD, Netflix and WIFI . Tastefully decorated and clean.
There are four bedrooms, two main floor bedrooms (one with on-suite bathroom) and two upstairs bedrooms. Each bedroom has a queen size bed and one of the upstairs bedrooms has two additional single beds.
Located an hour and a half north of Toronto it is just outside of the village of Washago, the property can be easily reached from Toronto by traveling up Hwy 400, or avoid the big highway and travel north along highways 48 and 12.
Within a twenty-minute drive you will find, the towns of Gravenhurst and Oriillia, the entertainment at Casino Rama, or live theatre at the Orillia playhouse. Boats are available at the local marinas to travel through the nearby locks and along the Severn waterway to Georgian Bay. The water at the end of the dock is about four feet deep, power boats are welcome to moor, but boaters need to know the preferred route before approaching the dock. We offer a canoe for exploring the nearby Green and Black River.

Fall in Canada
Fall in Canada
We recently traveled from Southern California to spend a few days in the Toronto area and decided to travel up to Lake Couchiching and we are so glad that we did. Our stay here was perfect! We sat out in the sunroom every evening with a glass of wine and every morning with a cup of Tim Horton's coffee (wish we had it in So. Calif.) to enjoy the beauty all around us - Fall colors, beautiful water, Canadian geese, not to mention their beautiful, comfortable home. We all had large comfortable beds to sleep in (and that doesn't always happen) and we had everything at our finger tips. We traveled to small towns such as Bala and continued our Fall Color experience, along with antique hunting. We would highly recommend staying here and we hope to come back. My husband had hoped to fish right from the dock, but the water is shallow, so he had to seek other spots for fishing....But the fishing was very good...Water, water everywhere!

About the owner: We are from Toronto and we live in the Danforth Riverdale area. We love to spend weekends at the cottage, skiing in the winter and fishing in the summer, or just hanging out on the dock. But we are still working and raising a family, and over the summer we only have a couple of weeks available to enjoy the cottage, so, when we can't be there we like to make it available for others to enjoy.
Why the Owner Chose Orillia:
We have been cottaging in this area for many years and enjoy that there are lots of local attractions to keep us busy year round. Our cottage is rented mostly by families on summer vacation or small groups looking for a peaceful retreat. This would not be a good party house.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
The cottage sits right on the edge of the water and the sunroom offers a 160 degree vista of Lake Couchiching. The dock is unique as it extends over 60' off the shore but has a large seating area that receives sun early that lasts throughout the day. It's a great place to relax in the sun.
