Called the River of Green, Edmonton's River Valley constitutes the longest stretch of connected urban parkland in N. America. The river valley is 22 times larger than New York City's Central Park. Athletes and those who attempt to be take advantage of the valley to run, jog, walk, hike, cycle, rollerblade through the paved and unpaved paths. You can even take a guided Segway tour through the river valley year round, the only way you can travel on a Segway publicly outdoors in Edmonton and the first on public land in Canada. It starts and ends at Louise McKinney Park 4 times a day and runs 3 seasons a year for groups as small as 2 and even single riders if you ask. They also rent bikes. A cafe below the condo near the river offers bottled drinks, gelato, bike and sports equipment rentals. In the river valley and downtown, festivals and other activities are abundant during the summer. Walk through the rose garden and have a picnic at a picnic table or on the other side of the river by means of the pedestrian bridge where you can have a BBQ. Tai Chi in the Chinese Garden or do yoga in the park below the condo. There is easy access right down to the river's edge using the freshly cut lawn and paved walkways and/or stairs.
You can watch the River Boat Queen launch in the river or watch the Dragon Boat racers practice throughout the summer in the river and even the race itself from start to finish. Other sightings are power boats, jet skis, canoes, and the silly Sourdough Raft Race. Often you can see fireworks from Telus Field, always from Capital Ex and practically all the others throughout Edmonton on Canada Day from the condo. You can see the forest from the trees when it comes to the view of downtown from the condo.
Blocks away and seen from the condo is a ski hill for skiing and tobogganing. Next to the Muttart Conservatory for botanical lovers. the ski hill is also home to the renowned Edmonton Folk Festival. All of this including concerts, the Dragon Boat Races and the Chinese Garden can be seen from the condo. Riverside and Victoria Golf Courses are 1.4 and 3.2kms away respectively.

Bus stops next block over where buses head off in all directions includes one route that leads to West Edmonton Mall without transferring. A two block walk gets you to Canada Place where you can enter the 13 kilometre (8.1 mi) year-round climate-controlled underground tunnels and walkways between more than 40 buildings and parkades and three of the five Edmonton Light Rail Transit (LRT) stations in the downtown area. The LRT can whisk you to the University of Alberta, NE and south Edmonton.

The View - Wonderful!!
The View - Wonderful!!
This condo met all of our expectations. We really appreciated that it was true to the listing description and photos. The View, as it is aptly named, was stunning. What a delight to have breakfast on the sunny balcony overlooking the scenic river valley and relax at the end of the day with a view of city lights. The interior was spacious and inviting with high end furniture and bathroom fixtures. The therapeutic bath, granite countertops and high ceilings being our favorites! We felt secure and safe within the complex itself. Marcel was a gracious owner and offered advice, also providing us with a binder filled with pertinent information regarding the condo and its amenities. Correspondence with Marcel was prompt and reliable. We had an excellent experience here. We will definitely be back and will recommend this property to friends, relatives and business associates.

The View Stunning River & Park View and Access Edmonton Downtown Condo Alberta Canada
Our family spent a week at The View in March of 2011. The pictures & description were accurate and it was how we expected it when we arrived. The owners were most gracious and helpful in every possible way. The condo was clean & well kept in a secure building. I would recommend this condo to anyone looking for a nice place to stay for a very reasonable price. The kitchen is fully functional & clean with tasteful contemporary decor. The name "The View" is not an understatement at all, it has a lovely view of the city & river valley. We enjoyed the area and the close proximity to the Italian Centre for great food & the best coffee. There are many things to see & do around Edmonton and this condo is a good place to start. It is a lovely relaxing place to return after a day of sight seeing, shopping or shows. Rent with confidence knowing you have made a good choice.

About: We are a long time Edmonton family managing a number of family owned rental properties in Edmonton and Banff. We enjoy our encounters with our renters' desire that they have a pleasurable stay.
We love the central location and ease of access to much of what Edmonton has to offer. It was was built for our own use so it has many upgrades over above other condo units making it ideal for executives. It is a place unlike any other in the city.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
Unlike other apartment style properties, natural light beams through opposite ends of the condo that is especially important in Alberta's winters. This unit is very close to the nicer (glass) of two elevators and has a semi-private entrance. The utility room which includes a personal use washer and dryer is uniquely attached internally to the condo unit. The balcony extends far out to the river valley edge providing a panoramic view of the river, Louise McKinney activities, the arterial roads and downtown. In fact you can see 5 bridges at once.
