  The description of the apt is accurate, but actually the description does not do justice to how comfortable, clean and convenient this rental is.The apartment is on a quiet residential street, yet is only around the corner from many shops where you can find all that you need/want. There are many nice restaurants within short walking distance or you could prepare something in the nicely supplied kitchen. The S-bahn is a short walk away (I recently had spinal surgery but found even I in my current state could manage the walk to the S-Bahn since it is close), as is a taxi stand and the buses on Kurfürstendamm go right into Mitte; this access to transport makes it quick and easy to get anywhere in Berlin. The owners left detailed instructions on the use of all the quality appliances in the apt. This information was clear and very helpful. It was great to be able to enjoy a Nespresso in the apt first thing in the morning! The quality of the supplied linens and towels exceeded our expectations, a pleasant surprise. Shampoo and conditioner are provided as are many cleaning supplies (bring your own bar soap), a great kindness. The wifi was fast (although it disappeared one night, happens everywhere) and there was a telephone in the apt that was available for use at nominal cost. There were even umbrellas in case of rain and maps of Berlin and little guides! Honestly there is little else the owners could do to make the stay at their apt more agreeable. I hope to visit Berlin again and when i do I hope that this apt will be available for us to stay in again. Thank you very much for stress-free, wonderful accommodations!!

  Lovely apartment, very tastefully decorated, in stark contrast to many holiday apartments which offer the bare necessities. Full of books and interesting art works it creates the feel of a true home. We had booked for 4 weeks but actually stayed for six; enjoyed it very much. Hand-over and cleaning service worked well. Only DVD -and CD player need servicing. The owner was always available via email for any cocnerns. The roof top terrace is absolutely stunning, again well furnished. However, daily attacks of wasps diminished the outdoor pleasure. If the wasps disappear we will happily return next year!

  My husband, 2 grandchildren and I spent 15 days at this fabulous apartment in July and August. Sometimes when booking over the internet one has concerns as to whether it is a good deal, a nice location and as represented. I can assure you that this is a wonderful apartment, in a great area, immaculately clean, tastefully furnished, very spacious, and with comfortable beds(including the sofa bed according to the grandkids). The bathroom is large and modern. The kitchen is also large and has everything you need to cook full meals. There is a full service Kaiser grocery store only a 5 minute walk away. As another reviewer mentioned, the huge outdoor terrace is stupendous! We spent almost every evening outside either eating supper or with a sip of wine - so very pleasant. It was exceptionally warm for Berlin while we were there so the airconditioning was much appreciated. I inquired into several apartments before settling on this one and found that very few had A/C. The S-Bahn station Halensee is a 10 minute walk away and very accessible from the airport. The owner, Marko, was very pleasant to deal with and always responded quickly to our E-mails. The contact person was waiting for us when we arrived, showed us around and left us his phone # if we needed anything. My damage deposit was refunded promptly upon our return home. I cannot recommend this apartment highly enough as our trip to Berlin was greatly enhanced by having such a nice place to stay. Thank you Marko!

  We stayed in this lovely apartment in September 2011 and it was a delight to feel like you were actually in a part of Berlin where people actually lived. And yet it was still convenient to transportation (S-trains, especially) and some lovely shops. NIce kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, and amazing rooftop terrace. Felt like coming home after a long day of sightseeing.

  Für Verwandtschaft aus dem Ausland hatten wir diese Wohnung ausgesucht. Die Reaktionen der vier Einquartierten waren durchweg positiv. Besonders gefallen hat die riesige Terasse, auf der an sommerlichen Abenden gut Sitzen war. Dankbar war man auch für Spül- und Waschmaschine. Insgesamt sind Küche und Bad von hoher Ausstattung gekennzeichnet. Wohn- und Schlafraum (daneben sogar ein kleines Ankleidezimmer) sind wohnlich und angenehm. Für einen familiären Großstadtaufenthalt eine gute Adresse.

  Berlin is a fascinating city and this apartment, in an attractive residential area close to all facilities and excellent public transport, is an ideal tranquil base from which to explore the city. The accommodation is spacious and very good in all respects - the large sun terrace is a great feature. We hope to return to Berlin - a week is not enough time to do credit to all there is to see - and to rent this property again.

  I stayed for 15 days in May /11 and the Penthouse was PERFECT. I have been spending 2 weeks in Berlin every Spring for the last 20 years and I finally found the place that I was always hoping to find. The size was great, the location was wonderful and the view from the Rooftop terrace was beautiful. I can't say enough about this Penthouse. There is nothing missing in this apartment and the Owner is very accommodating, likeable and easy to deal with.   After a very pleasant stay at this apartment with my wife last April, I returned on my own for business. I spent a week here at the beginning of June. Every aspect of my previous review still stands - this is a great place to stay in Berlin. The big dining table allowed me to spread out my work, and the fast wifi internet allowed me to stay connected. This time I did a lot of self catering, and the neighbourhood shops are great for everything I needed - fresh baked goods at several bakeries and delicious foods at a couple of local delicatessens. I'm very happy I was able to stay at this apartment again. I can't recommend it enough.

  I stayed here with my wife in mid-April 2011. Our experience was excellent. The apartment was fantastic. I have no complaints whatsoever. Spend some time here and you'll want to live in Berlin! We received quick email responses from the owner, and all the necessary instructions well before we left on our holiday. The friendly Matthias was waiting for us outside the building when we arrived. He showed us the apartment and how everything worked. He then gave us the keys and said we should call him if we need anything or have any problems. We didn't have any problems. We had arrived in the evening and we didn't fully realize how beautiful the apartment is until the next morning. Because it's on the top floor of a small six storey building (accessible by elevator) lots of sunlight streams through the many windows. The whole apartment was spotlessly clean. The bedroom has a good, firm, queen-size bed, and there's a large walk-in closet, which is great for unpacking and storing suitcases. The living and dining area is quite large. There's a comfortable sofa (which converts to a bed if you are more than two people), a large 'mid-century modern' dining table and chairs, lots of books and a few scattered rugs on the hard-wood floors. The kitchen is bright and well equipped and also has a small table and chairs. The bathroom has obviously been remodelled very recently. It's nice and modern. (One word of warning - the is no bath tub, just a big shower stall, which, for me, is ideal.) One of the highlights was the fabulous terrace. It's HUGE and gives you a nice perspective on the neighbourhood. There's a table and chairs out there too. We found the location to be ideal. It's near 'U-bahn' and 'S-bahn' stations. It's a four minute walk to Kurfürstendamm, the main street running east/west through the centre of Berlin. The neighbourhood is filled with everything you could need. There are several bakeries, delicatessen, patisseries, restaurants, cafes, shops, cleaners, a bi-weekly farmers market and even a currywurst stand all within a few minutes walk. Very convenient was the local supermarket. It is a five minute walk from the apartment and is open until midnight, which is unusual for Germany. What else can I say? We loved staying here. We want to return soon. We've even talked about owning our own place in Berlin since we stayed here. But I think most other apartments would be disappointing in comparison.

Additional information about rental rates

First time guests also have to pay a 300 EUR (or equivalent in US$) as security at time of booking. Security will be reimbursed by mailed check.

Rates are subject to changes until confirmed.

When booking a 50% deposit is needed. It is fully refundable if you cancel 60 or more days before your scheduled arrival. If you cancel between 60 and 30 days before, you will get half of the deposit back, and if you cancel 30 days or less before arrival, there will be no refund.

The remaining 50% must be received by us at the latest 30 days before your scheduled arrival.

Additional Fees and Taxes:

Quotes are based on occupancy for up to two guests. Three or more guests add 20 EUR per person per night.
