Your home away from home is located 2 miles north of Cortez on 3 acres. We live on site but the vacation home is very private from the main home with it's own private entrance. Since we are on the property we are available to help in any way we can to make your visit the most enjoyable it can be. This home has been a three year labor of love with many special touches including hickory floors and tasteful furnishings and decorations. You enter the 1200 square foot home through a sun porch with it's own gas fireplace. This is the perfect place to have your morning coffee while enjoying the views. The great room is beautifully decorated and also has a gas fireplace and satellite television. The kitchen is a gourmet cook's delight equipped with everything you need to prepare a great meal. There is eating space at the granite topped island in the kitchen as well as a dining table overlooking the view to the south and west. The Master bedroom with a king bed is spacious and has a private bath. The second bedroom has a queen bed. Both bedrooms have satellite television and a deck accessible by French doors. The second bath is equipped with a jetted tub.
The inside is so beautiful that you won't want to leave, however the outdoors here in Southwestern Colorado have magnificent sunsets and mountain views that you won't want to miss.
There is a hot tub and fire pit in the backyard and covered parking. Nice landscaping if you just want to sit on the porch and enjoy the outdoors.
We added nice little touches such as a Keurig coffee maker with complimentary assorted coffees, a spice rack, fresh flowers on your table and laundry detergent and softener to use in the front loading washer and dryer. There is also an Ipod/Ipad dock and we supply soft terry robes for lounging or as a warm cover up to and from the hot tub.
In the summer of 2011 we completed a 26 foot geodesic dome greenhouse that is full of flowers and vegetables. It is a perfect place to read a book or eat a meal. It is a 4 season greenhouse, so it can be enjoyed even when there is snow on the ground.
We have a roof top observation terrace with spectacular views and a great place to star gaze. A view finder will help you see up close. Also a great place to work on your tan during the day.
Cancellation policy, If you cancel after you have paid the full amount we will refund one half of the final payment back to you.
We ask for $100 non refundable deposit when booking with the balance due one week prior to your arrival.

About the owner: Ken and Lou Anne have owned the San Juan Dental Clinic since 1978, where Ken is a dentist and Lou Anne is a hygienist. They have 3 grown children and enjoy traveling, mostly in an RV. We began building the vacation home about three years ago and just recently completed it. Since we have lived here for 32 years we are very familiar with the area. Cortez is a great place to stay since it is centrally located to many of our favorite places such as Moab, Durango, Telluride and three National Parks, Mesa Verde, Arches and Canyonlands.
