A breathtaking view of Eiffel Tower – Paris skies - “Atelier” studio overlooking the rooftops of Paris
Everyday the unmistakeable feeling of the aura of Paris greets you with your first look out the window of this 6th floor “atelier” studio. The changing skies and the unique Parisian light that has attracted artists of all ages to the city fascinates the beholder. (Currently there is a rennovation of the 17th Century Hopital Laennec. You also see the cranes in the first photo. For this reason the weekly and monthly rental rates have been reduced since early this year. The cranes, however, do not block our view.)
Recently modernised, the studio has an open kitchen with all equipment required for a your convenience and comfort. The sofa bed and alcove dining area add to the charm. The sofa opens to a comfortable normal size double bed. Via TV, DVDs and internet access you may keep in touch with the rest of the world. An airy skylight enhances the space. Located on the colorful Parisian left bank, you have easy access to the most important historical sights, museums, theaters, cinemas and shopping areas of the city. Whether you prefer to walk, bike, enjoy the view via the three local bus lines that pass in front of the building, or if you want to connect to the outskirts of the city via the metro, the heart of Paris is available within easy reach. Local buses travel regularly to main spots in the city. (Notre Dame, St.Germain de Pres, the Louvre, Les Halles, Centre Pompedieu/ Beaubourg, Hotel de Ville).
At the same time this studio offers you a home away from home to escape busy streets to a peaceful atmosphere. You have the choice to breakfast at home or at a nearbye cafe, lunch at a local restaurant and return from sightseeing or shopping to rest and fix your evening meal. There are excellent restaurants, brasseries and snack bars that offer a variety of meals for all tastes at all price levels nearbye. You may also pick up catered warm meals from the famous Grand Epicerie of the Bon Marche or one of the other nearbye catering services.
A wide range of shopping opportunities are also available nearbye. The elegant and oldest department store, the Bon Marché, is only across the way. The neighborhood is filled with a variety of exclusive boutiques (rue de Sevres, Cherche Midi and rue du Bac as well as the discount best brands in the rue St.Placide).
If you are flying into the city you may also reach the studio via the airport Bus from Orly or Charles de Gaulle/ Roissy Airport to Montparnasse, from there you have a short walk or taxi ride. The studio is equally available via the RER local airport train with one connection at the Metro Cluny to our exit Sevres Babylon. All of the train stations are easily accessible by metro from here.

My wife and I arrived in Paris on our honeymoon and were so pleased to have such a comfortable apartment in the 7th for ten days. Our hope was to have place to serve as home-base while we traveled across the city. It was such a convenient location and just the right size for us. We were across the street from two metro stops (Babylone and Vaneau), Le Bon Marche and the Grande Épicerie, and there were two convenient grocery stores down the block. We had everything we needed - enough kitchen supplies, ample space for a city apartment, table space to spread out our maps and books, and every night, after a long day exploring the city - we slept pretty soundly on the sofa bed. The local manager was EXTREMELY helpful when we had some internet issues, making two trips to the apartment to make sure we were set up alright. He even made some recommendations for cafes, museums, and other activities from a local perspective. We really appreciated his extra help. We loved the view from our window with a view of Tour Eiffel and the golden dome of Les Invalides. The construction across the street at the former Laennec Hospital was a surprise, but I looked at it as a chance to see the "Paris 7 Rive Gauche" project - one of the largest renovation projects in the last 50 years in Paris. I found it as interesting as the rest of the city life. Overall, we loved our stay and have so many memories we still talk about - my wife riding the tiny elevator in her wedding dress, making a homemade dinner then watching the Tour Eiffel's top-hour- light show and how much we felt like we were part of a Parisian neighborhood.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

This was our first stop on a three-week belated honeymoon trip and it was the perfect place to acclimate to the new climate and 10 hour time change. The apt was so cozy, and even the littlest touches like the TSF Jazz station set on the radio, the book shelf of travel information, and nespresso machine created a lovely space for us to rest and relax. We both loved our stay here, and would certainly recommend to others or stay again if we were to return.Recommended for: Romantic getaway.

Memories that sum up of our stay - viewing the rooftops of Paris from this 6th floor studio: candle light dinners facing the sparkling Eiffel Tower in the distance, classical music to play in the background and only a few steps away the Metro. This studio is a welcoming, charming and a well designed space that offered us a comfortable stay in the center of Paris. All was possible just a few steps away from the Metro Sevres Babylon. The steady rainfall did not disturb our visit; we thought, what matters ? We can enjoy our evening here. We spent our days below investigating the city and our evenings with a glass of red wine over-viewing the city from the 6th floor. This is not a luxurious suite, but the website photos give completely its atmosphere. This is a place for romantics with a taste for beauty. Beyond that the location of this charming place is phenomenal. Everything one needs (and more) is before the door: foods of all kinds, bakeries, cafes, luxury and bargain fashions, small parks, specialty shops and public transportation. And, by foot you may reach some amazing places within a short distance : Rodin Museum, St. Germaine de Pres, Place de Odeon and St. Sulpice and a bit further the Luxembourg gardens, Blvd. St. Michel and even Notre Dame at the Seine, among others. It is clear that I would definitely choose again to stay at this apartment.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/1

Czarina's home is a gem in the heart of Paris. For our first visit to Paris, we had access to what felt like the most ideal metro stations that linked the city, and the view of the Eiffel Tower from the window was marvelous to see twinkling at night. We really appreciated the assistance of the caretaker in making the stay comfortable and the travel efficient to and from the train station. Was a delight to interact with him. In addition to the accommodations, the location was perfectly located across from a fantastic grocery store, with access to fresh food and ready-made sandwiches for our trips into the city. Our love of espresso was more than satisfied with access to a nespresso machine in the home and with access to a nespresso retail store conveniently located just a few blocks away to purchase coffee. Made the mornings feel just like home. We would certainly plan for a future stay, and our only note is that the construction across the street (which is likely wrapping up) was noisy in the morning. We appreciated that Czarina made note of this before our arrival and that she made the stay easy for us, allowing us to focus on enjoying the landmarks of the city.Did you find this review helpful? I stayed in this apartment for six weeks, and believe me it was six of the worst weeks I've ever had in Paris. First, the construction occurring across the street is a nightmare. It starts every morning before 7 a.m. and is so loud that it is impossible to sleep through. Thankfully, they take Sundays off. But the worst part is that the apartment is literally falling apart. All of the electrical fixtures in the apartment are loose. The shower doors don't close. The shower drain is a rusted-through mess. Half of the lights don't turn on. There's no heat whatsoever in the "toilet" (an airplane-lavatory-sized room just off the front door -- the shower is actually behind the kitchen, hidden in the photos on here by large blinds). The windows overlooking the street do not open or close properly. The WiFi is actually piggybacked from another apartment in the building (is this legal in France?) And then there's the sofabed.I was informed it was damaged when I arrived and had issues with sticking and not extending into the bed. It was to be fixed or replaced within a couple of days, I was told. Nothing was fixed or replaced at all during the entire six weeks I was there. There also are huge bags of dirty laundry stuffed in the alcove near the front door, and they stink to high heaven. AVOID THIS RENTAL! I wish I had.Owner response: Unfortunately, this negative review, posted on January 24, 2013 is a result of a conflict between this former guest and myself. He left on December 27, 2012, three days before official check out. He mailed us to explain that he had to leave unexpectedly due to a family matter. He also mentioned that there were 2 burnt out light bulbs, one in the bathroom and one in the alcove (which we immediately replaced) and a problem with the sofa-bed. The apartment was left in a ravaged state. We have rented the studio since two years and it has never been left this way. We sent an email requesting reimbursement for damages beyond normal wear and tear resulting from his stay. Until this we had receivedp no complaints from him. Many thing he refers to could have been solved if he would have contacted us. His review is a dramatic change from the messages of the 1st week, stating that the apartment is perfect and he inquired about the iron. In another email he asked me where he could find the pods for the coffee maker. I replied quickly and suggested he read the instructions for guests. Every guest receives welcome information, including this guest, about how things work, who to reach if there are any problems with electricity, internet, machines, etc. Our local manager is available per phone or mail. He has been praised by previous guests for his attentiveness. Many issues could have been solved if he had contacted us. He did not. The comments the guest makes about the WIFI connection are absolutely false. Our WIFI address and code are written up in the Welcome Instructions for our guests. Telephone and television function over internet via French Telecom. As indicated in the initial comments of this guest and the reviews of others before him, the studio was not dilapidated when he arrived, but referred to as perfect. We received no telephone calls or mails about the issues reported here. No contact was taken between the first week and his departure. Electrical sockets were not loosened before his arrival and the windows still close and open easily. Closed they also soften the sounds of construction across the way during working hours. Light bulbs could easily have been replaced. The shower is not rusted. The toilet is normal size for small studios in Paris. After this visitor left many items were in need of repair. In 6 weeks much can go wrong. A shame that we were not aware, as this is our only place in Paris, we want to care for it and preserve its charm.

My fiance and I much enjoyed this studio in August. We celebrated our anniversary in Paris enjoying our own special view of the Eiffel Tower every morning with cafe au lait from the Nespresso machine. We especially appreciated the light spectacles of the Eiffel Tower in the evening with a glass of red wine. Of course we observed the construction work across the way. However, informed in advance, we knew that this would also be part of the view. The Paris skies beyond could still amaze us. During our stay in Paris we spent most of the time out discovering the city. Due to the perfect location this was possible by foot, by bus and by metro. Moreover, the area near St. Germain de Prés was amazing and a good starting point. To sum up, from our point of view the studio has its own very French character, especially, for couples who wants to have a romantic stay. We liked the mix of modern and antique elements. We would suggest this studio for anyone who enjoys a romantic view of the city. We look forward to the next opportunity to stay in Paris in this studio.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We were looking for an authentic Parisian apartment for a one month stay, one that was more than just a place to eat and sleep. This studio apartment provided the ambience we had hoped for and it often made us think of the painters and poets who flourished in places like this. Such wonderful light from the skylights and the inspired view of the city. Or perhaps La Boheme comes to mind, except that we were never cold. Or too warm for that matter. The desciption of the apartment and neighborhood are very good! No surprises and we also found ourselves fascinated with the major and imaginative building project across the street. it reminded us that this is a changing and dynamic city no shortage of architectural dreams. The elevator was dependable and very welcome for this sixth floor location, but we liked to walk down using the classic twisting stairscase. We slept well and without interruption. The kitchen served us well and we even had a few guests who were envious of our place as they were not so pleased with their own. Yes, we would recommend this apartment to friends. We should mention the very pleasant and helpful young man who explained the details to us and was only a phone call away should we have a problem, but we never did.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Pictures of Eiffel Tower that were a main reason for booking this apartment failed to show the 6 large construction cranes right outside the window. There has been major construction going on across the street for some time, and will continue for at least another year and a half (accordording to site supervisor). We cannot understand why previous two recent reviewers failed to mention this in their comments. Unfortunately, we only found out about this AFTER we had paid our final rent installment. Owner tried to alleviate our concerns by saying noise would not be a problem, however, work would start at 7:00 each morning until 6:00 in the evening, and during this time if you wanted to carry on a conversation or watch TV or listen to radio, you had to close the windows! In addition, and even earlier, were the refrigerated trucks parked outside making deliveries a 5:00 each morning, to the large grocery store across the street next to the construction site. A lot of books in the apartment, but they are old and dusty. Bathroom sink is the size one would see in an airplane, with cabinet above that made for a few bumped heads while trying to wash up in the morning. Sink shared a room with the toilet, and the shower was separated from the kitchen by a sliding woven divider (see picture of kitchen in the ad - on right side of picture). Picture of what we assumed was bathroom, is actually glass shelves with mirror behind reflecting shower stall. Other than new sofa bed and TV, other furniture was uncomfortable and old. Kitchen and shower are updated. Elevator, as mentioned by previous guests, is very small (actually 4.5 square feet) - enough room for two average size people. Don't know that a handicapped person and a wheel chair would fit. Location was very good. Close to Metro and bus stops, and easy walking to many sites and areas. We were at this apartment for the month of June 2012, and while thoroughly enjoying the sights and sounds of Paris, would select a different apartment for future visits (this is our 5th visit to the city).Owner response: Another View Paris is the city of light, romantic skylines and elegant facades. This makes Paris the European city most loved and visited by tourists. The roof tops of the Hopital Laennec have highlighted our view of the Parisian skyline. The atelier window from the ceiling adds to the romantic and bohemian charm of our home in Paris. These scenes as well as the location and proximity to much of the central part of the city is what attracts our guests to come to us. The website presents not only the view from the window, but also the simple furnishings, sofa, chairs, tables and cabinets. Our bookshelf includes French literature, art and reference books on French and Parisian history and English novels and mystery stories. A number of books may be older, but of no less value. Previous guests have appreciated this touch and have documented this on the website. I have lived in the studio periodically a week at the end of April and now in August. In April the working hours were between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM. Because of the double windows and our location on the 6th floor I could sleep and work without any problem while construction was going on across the road. In August working hours extend to 6:00 PM. I have the windows open during the day and the nights. Perhaps our relief that the beautiful rooftops would not be replaced by a skyscraper to block our view has increased our tolerance. Hopital Laennec is a brilliant architectural example of care taken to restore and modernize in Paris: to respect the old while integrating the new. I have included a photo on the website with the cranes that one sees along with the Eiffel Tower and the golden dome of Invalides. The actual view is vaster than my snapshot and includes several chapel steeples and the Louvre towers. Many guests have enjoyed this rare view; even the oldest have expressed satisfaction with the charm and comfort of the interior. The view is not lessened but dramatized. However, everyone is not alike in tastes and expectations. We will continue to strive to add to your comfort whenever possible. This includes a mobile cooling system to refresh the air during the day. As noted on the website we have reduced the monthly and weekly rates during this construction period. Thank you dear guests for any suggestions you make for the interior. We cannot change the construction site, but we look forward to greeting you comfortably in the future and the urban village atmosphere that the new site offers.

This apartment was more than we ever could have hoped for in so many ways! First, the location in the 6th District is SO convenient to the major attractions! You are within 1 minute of to Metro Stops (Vanueau on the #10 and Sevres de Babylon on the #12) that will get you most places you'll want to visit. Second, you are in a Parisian neighborhood. Not a tourist trap, but in a real residential/commercial district for locals. This means that the surrounding boulangeries(3 within 2 minutes), patisseries(2 within 2 minutes) and grocery stores (3 within 1 minute) are authentic, friendly and amazing! Most days we would head out in the morning and get fresh pastries or bread, bring them back to the apartment and enjoy them with a Nespresso (the owner provides the machine and there is a store within a few blocks to buy the pods) while sitting at the table and looking out the window at the Paris skyline. We'd then hop on the Metro or walk to our tourist destination for the day. In the evening we'd visit one of the grocery stores, buy some meats, cheese & wine as well as a loaf of bread from one of the boulangeries and enjoy the night lights of Paris. The picture really doesn't do the view justice, it is so much better than the pictures! The bed is surpisingly comfortable for a hide-a-bed, and we slept well every night. The owner has provided NUMEROUS books to help you acquaint yourself with Paris and her property manager is available should you need him (we didn't but he was very pleasant and helpful upon check-in/check-out). I can't recommend this apartment enough and I guarantee that when we return to Paris in a few years, this will be the location we want to stay.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 1982
About the owner: Owner’s Profile I am originally from California and my husband from Germany. We came to Paris as students and absolutely fell in love with the city. Once married we settled together in Germany and raised our children in Berlin. We knew that Paris would become a second home. We both ended up having many professional ties and obligations in Paris. We bought this studio over twenty five years ago. It is the wonderful location and it was indeed the spectacular view that sold it to us. We live in Berlin, but we have always spent much time here both professionally and socially. Our children were able to attend school here and spend many vacations in France. Paris is still one of their favorite spots. They have entered professional life in very different parts of the world and traveling has become common to all of us. Thus, we have less time to take advantage of our studio in Paris. For this reason we have decided to make the studio available to tourists who might cherish Paris as much as we do. We have completely modernised the studio to include all of the equipment required to add to the comfort of a stay while enjoying the city.
Why the Owner Chose Paris Arrondissement 6:
What do I particularly like about this location in Paris? Paris is a city to walk in. No matter how often one visits one is compelled, at least I am, to walk to almost all destinations.. Paris is not only beautiful and the most important city for tourism in Europe, it has a unique intimacy. This neighborhood is very lively, the small shops amazingly interesting and the shopkeepers attentive. In addition to the architechtural sites, the numerous historical spots, I love the many open air fresh food markets at all times of the year. Especially wonderful in this neighborhood is the weekly Sunday open air market on the nearbye Boulevard Raspail. It is known for its rich assortment of healthy fresh fruit and vegetables, fish and meat and all kinds of condiments. It is the best place to plan your Sunday dinner. The sellers, producers, bakers, grocers, fishmongers, butchers are all welcoming and willing to advise you in how to prepare certain delicacies. Us shoppers are also amusing curiosities.
The Unique Benefits at this Studio:
For your intellectual / cultural interests you have several French bookstores only a short walk away French readers La Hune (open until midnight) on the Place St. Germain in the neighbhood the famous Café de Flore is known as a favourite for French intellectuals. A bit further along St. Germain toward Odeon you can catch the most recent English language (or German, Italian and of course French) films in the original version at the nearbye cinemas. Parisians also love the cinema. The revivals of the best American, British and other European old timers will be found around the Boulevard. St. Michel and Cluny in the Latin Quarter, another short distance by foot, bus,or metro. Not far away is another destination for a short walk, the beautiful Jardin de Luxembourg Park. Also the walks along the Seine and in the Jardin de Tuilleries are within easy reach and I find them equally beautiful for passing aimiable time, alone or with others in Paris on a Sunday or holiday. But there is no end to other pleasant tours and cosy corners within and on the outskirts of Paris. Although most Paris visitors bring their own guides you will find some proposals in our studio that we and our guests propose to you. Have fun enjoying being a Parisian for at least a week or more!
