We try to vacation with our friends at least every other year. It has gotten more challenging as we have evolved from 2 couples to families with kids. We ended up renting this house and could not have been more thrilled. The house is an L-shape, with 2 bedrooms and a bathroom in each wing. The wings meet in a wonderful, soaring living room and kitchen. Each family had privacy at night AND we had a huge room where the kids played. The deck was giant and was furnished with everything we wanted for reading, cooking out and stargazing,. The beach was very wide and our kids ran and built sandcastles without us worrying they would end up in the lake before we noticed. Also, the I don't know if it was normal or a fluke, but the water was only about ankle deep on an adult as far as we could walk. The kids went wading every day and chased each other along the shore. The lake bottom varied between nice and sandy to rocky, but was mostly as smooth and hard as a sidewalk (REALLY!!). It made for fun pictures of us "walking on water"! The husbands rented Kayaks in Port Austin and paddled their way to our beach. There was internet, satellite TV, videos, books. My verizon phone would not work, but my friends ATT phone did. I ended up going to the drug store and buying a cell phone so I would not feel stranded.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We have rented for over 25 years and this is the nicest property we have ever vacationed. The house and the property were clean, well stocked, comfortable and in a perfect location. We enjoyed the eagle fishing, the deer walking to the little islands and all the other wildlife right in front of us. We usually do the putt putt golf and canoeing thing but this year everyone just wanted to stay at the house and relax and enjoy the view. A perfect place to decompress and remember to enjoy life again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, girls getaway, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
