My boyfriend and I stayed at Casa Antigua for two weeks in May. We loved the place and the location was great. Everything was within walking distance; local marktes, the malecon, restaurants and downtown sights. The place itself was very clean when we arrived and Dora was waiting to give us the tour. The pool was the highlight of the place, a great way to cool off after walking around the town. We will definately be back to stay at Casa Antigua; thanks Georgia for sharing your beautiful home with us.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We enjoyed our stay at Casa Antigua so much - it was hard to leave. Casa Antigua was perfect for our family. It was clean, comfortable and fully equipped with everything we needed. The extra towels were a bonus! We enjoyed and spent a great deal of time at the kitchen table, and loved the pool. Beds were very comfortable. Connecting to wireless was a breeze and we had great service all week. Theo was there to greet us and welcome us to Casa Antigua - he was so kind, and shared some dining tips with us too. My husband made our arrangements: all communications and questions were addressed promptly. We loved being able to walk to El Mercado (fresh fruit juices are awesome) and to Tacos La Paz for breakfast. The Marlin Quesadillas at Tacos La Paz are super delicious. We spent most of our time at the nearby beaches (Tocolote & Bandalara) & checking out La Paz. We had great food at: Rancho Viejo (breakfast is delicious, too), Stella (breakfast on the waterfront), Calypso, the beach restaurant at Tocolote had amazing shrimp tostadas and fish soup, il rustico (very delicious & great ambiance), and shrimp on the barbeque at home. Visited Ibarra pottery, the cathedral, the serpentarium, the marina's, chedraui (big supermarket), different neighborhoods. Stopped at Todos Santos on our way to La Paz & had a refreshing drink & snack at Posada la Poza - the view from the deck is spectacular. We walked all over La Paz and were constantly reminded of what a friendly & happy group of people live in this vibrant town. The Malecon is the spot to be in the evening, especially weekends. We watched the sunset there. Our Spanish was much improved at the end of the week! Again, we can't say enough about our stay at Casa Antigua - highly recommend a visit to this very gracious and comfortable home. I'd like to think we'll be back someday!Recommended for: Pet owners, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

Flew into Cabo and spent 3 nights there , headed up to La Paz and wished we never spent time in Cabo. La Paz is definetly more authentic and real Mexican feeling. Casa Antigua adds to that with the Hacienda style house. Spent a lot of time by the pool relaxing and soaking up the rays. Parked the car upon arrival and only used it one day to head out to the beaches. Perfect locations everything was in walking distance. Very clean house and the pictures do not do it justice. Fully equipped to cook and BBQ! Hope to be back real soon and wont bother spending any time in Cabo next time!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, people with disabilities, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

This was indeed a conveniently located home in the centre of La Paz, and such an interesting home with a comfy bed and good dining table, and the rooms set off of the courtyard. The living room was large, and the pool was refreshing at this time of year. The home could easily accommodate a family with older children, but younger children may not feel comfortable with the bedrooms entered from the courtyard. Good bathroom and shower. Caretaker was reachable by phone to answer questions as needed. Clean and well maintainedRecommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, age 55+.

We recently stayed at Casa Antigua for our first trip to La Paz. The house is even better than the photos, we loved the open yard/patio and large rooms and the pool was refreshing. It had everything we needed and we appreciated the parking. We would definitely stay there again. Recommended acitivities are day trip to Todos Santos, boat trip to swim with the sea lions at Isla Espiritu Santo and exploring local beaches.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

What can I say that hasn't already been said in the description or other reviews? It's an absolutely great property to be at for exploring the city. Close enough that you can walk to the Malecon, market or restaurants in 5-10 minutes and far enough off the Malecon (4 blocks) to be quiet and peaceful at night. The living room was huge but we didn't spend much time there as if its all about the patio living at Casa Antigua. The only times we were inside was to sleep. The house was immaculate, the kitchen well equipped and the beds very comfortable. This was a fantastic place to the spend the week in La Paz. Georgia was great and easy to work with and Dora and Theo made sure our stay went off without a hitch. Thanks to you all! Some of the activities we really enjoyed in La Paz: Snorkeling with the sealions at Los Islotes and the Whale Sharks in the Bay (10 minute panga ride from the Malecon), Swimming and lounging at the Pichaligua beaches (Balandra and Tecalote), Paddleboarding in the Bay (boards rented at HarkerBoards on the Malecon between 5th de Mayo and Constitucion) Place we enjoyed eating while there: Any of the counters at the Nicholas Bravo Mercado for breakfast every morning just 2 blocks from Casa Antigua. Ceviche tostadas at Bar Azul on Tecalote Beach for 20 pesos each! Don't bother with the other higher priced dishes, its all about the ceviche. Seafood tacos at Bismarkcito on the Malecon (tuna, escolare, octopus, scallop, clams, marlin, oysters, lobster, and many other choices). Once again, don't bother with the other dishes. Just order from the taco stand and out front on the sidewalk. Rediculously huge burgers and dirt cheap cerveza and margaritas at the Shack. Also 2 blocks from Casa Antigua. Arrachera steak tacos from Rancho Viejo about 6 blocks from Casa Antigua on Marquez one block from the Malecon. So good I went here 3 times during the week. Thanks Again, DanRecommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.
Owner response: Dan, thank you for taking the time to write a review. So glad you enjoyed Casa Antigua and La Paz. Rancho Viejo and The Shack are 2 of our favourite spots as well. We look forward to having you stay with us again. Best Georgia

Casa Antigua is a fantastic house. Although we stayed there only for a week, we enjoyed every moment of it. We found it as attractive as when we looked at the pictures on the owner’s website and took a virtual walk with Google’s Street View. The following were the highlights of our stay: (1) We liked that La Paz is a perfectly ‘normal’ Mexican city, full with people from all walks of life, which we experienced in their daily lives. Although the city would be flourishing even without tourists, tourists feel especially welcome. All this makes La Paz very much distinct from a typical resort town. (2) Casa Antigua is conveniently located. We liked its comfortable hacienda style, with its large outdoor patio, the pool, and the courtyard area. The location is peaceful and quiet. We found everything spotlessly clean on arrival and we were impressed by the richly equipped kitchen. Just a short walking distance away is the beautiful Malecon where one can spend hours walking. And not far from the house, there is a great variety of restaurants, the nearest being the excellent Las Magueyes. (3) However, above all, there is the charming couple of Dora and Theo, who look so well after the house. Theo was there to greet us on arrival, and both came once to visit us, just to see how we were doing. They are exceptionally nice, warm and helpful people! We always had the reassurance that they would be around in case we would have had a problem. In short, Casa Antigua is a delightful place, we can recommend it to anyone, and we will be happy to return at any time!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

Thanks! Your home is wonderful, we had such a nice, relaxing time at Casa Antigua and enjoyed every minute. La Paz was a very welcome contrast from Cabo (as we had hoped!) and we enjoyed a couple of evenings at The Shack (what a great little place) as well as a couple of lunches and a dinner out. But most of all we enjoyed cooking and spending time together in the beautiful surroundings of your place, we loved the hacienda style of living. The market was great, we really enjoyed getting fresh juice and tortillas every day. So thank you for all you recommendations, and for leaving the coffee, it was delicious! Thanks again for everything, we will definitely be returning to the La Paz (and hopefully Casa Antigua!).Recommended for: Girls getaway, romantic getaway, age 55+.

Why La Paz:
We chose La Paz for our holiday home because it is a clean ,well organized city with all the amenities as well as unbielavable natural beauty, but most of all for the fact it is so friendly and safe and not completely over-run with resorts and is still truly a' Mexican'city.
La Paz translated in English means 'The Peace',,,,,,very fitting name for this city.
