My husband & I stayed at Almost Heaven for 3 nights in May. What an absolute delightful place. The cabin had everything you could want. The peaceful, secluded area was just what we needed for a few days away but yet close to everything in Pigeon Forge. Terry & Tim were great people to deal with. The renting of their cabin was an easy, smooth process. We will definitely be renting from them again. Thanks again for sharing your cabin!!!

Usually a persons destination will more or less determine selections for lodging. And although, "Almost Heaven" provided a great location for the local attractions, our purpose for lodging was quite the opposite. We did not visit the area for the attractions. We found a cabin, for rent by owners Tim and Terry Stagg, which was an attraction in itself. The cabin was comfortable and well equipped. It was everything they advertised it to be, and more. While the attractions in the area offer plenty of fun vacation memories, I believe we will remember our lodging more because our plan was to stay in a secluded cabin as an interim stop to our final vacation destination. The name "Almost Heaven" falls short only because there is so much height left to the mountain beyond the elevation of this cabin. In fact, if you miss your turn at night it can feel like your vehicle will flip over backward if you continue on (it won't, but for a city boy in a mini-van, it can feel like it). The personal touches added from the owners seem to say, "I put this here just for your enjoyment". And I believe they did. Perhaps the most descriptive comment I could make with reference to the comfort of the cabin would not to call it almost Heaven, because I know that I can only imagine what Heaven will truly be like. But it would be to say it was Almost Home. And that, my friend, is pretty comfortable!
Owner response:Thank you all for the kind words. We are very honored and would be privaledged to have you as our guests again. Take care, Terry Kay

We had a peaceful, restful five nights in this cabin. My husband and I wanted to bring our dog on vacation with us, and the cabin's owners made the three of us very welcome. We loved the screened-in porch for bug-free reading in the rocking chairs, and games of scrabble in the evenings. We dined in nearly every night thanks to the Kroger store nearby, and made good use of the cabin's many kitchen utensils. The washer and dryer were a nice perk, too. The photos and description of this property in the VRBO listing are exactly what we found when we arrived. Everything was spotless, and well-maintained. The owners were very responsive to our questions and needs during our stay. For those who enjoy wine with dinner "at home" on vacation, either pack your own bottle or stop at a liquor store on your way. Tennessee grocery stores sell beer but not wine!
Owner response:Thank you folks. It was a pleasure meeting you and we would be honored to have you stay with us any time in the future. Thanks again! Tim Stagg

What a wonderful cabin and location! So close to the excitement of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, yet so remote and peaceful. During our stay we visited Mel's Diner (great breakfast for $4.99), Cades Cove (saw a bear & some wild turkeys), Dolly's Dixie Stampede (beware asthmatics), the Mill for shopping and even rode to the top of Bluff Mountain (wow what views you can see at these higher elevations). Back to reality as we need to head back to Kentucky and N.C. Thanks Tim and Terry - A great place and wonderful time. Great cabin, good price, and we love that you supply all except food and clothes. Best Regards & hope to return, John & Joyce Glenn & Brenda

We enjoyed the cabin and location, very secluded and quiet and peaceful. The time spent in the mornings and late afternoon on the screened porch was the best!! We were here for the Shades of the Past car show so that was the daytime activities. We wanted to stay longer, three days not enough time. Thank you for sharing this great cabin. God's blessings to you and your family.

Tim and Terry, This is our second time staying at Almost Heaven. Once again we were blessed to stay in your cabin for a family gathering. Since last time we had a son (Collin 7 months) and he loved the cabin and the family dinners and the time with family. It is such a joy to stay in your cabin and be able to do meals and relax after a day in the mountains. The screened in deck was again the favorite family area. Julies parents and brother joined us this time and were very pleased as well. It is experiences like this that keep us coming back. We will see you again in October at Heavens Door. Thank you again for a wonderful experience. God bless and hope all is well. Paul, Julie, and Collin Sanford, Florida

Tim and Terry Kay, Thank you for yet another wonderful week in the moutnains. Almost Heaven is the 4th (or is it now the 5th cabin) we have had the priviledge to stay in. Each cabin is unique. Almost Heaven is just that ... Almost Heaven. The past two years have been very difficult for our family and we desperately needed this week of relaxation. Bob, Jeanette and family Sarasota, Florida

Thank you so much for a wonderful relaxing vacation for the 4 of us and our 2-legged "boys". The cabin was much more than we expected. We will be renting from you again in the future. The snow on the mountains was a nice surprise.

We stayed here for two nights. It was a beautiful cabin with a fire place, hot tub and loft bedroom. We grilled steaks on the charcoal grill each night. The front deck afforded a wonderful view of the Smoky Mountains and a stunning sunrise. It was close enough to Pigeon Forge to see it at night but far enough away to be peaceful. It was the perfect place for a second honeymoon. We are recommending Terry Kay Cabin Rentals to all of our friend.

We have stayed with Tim and Terry in 3 of their cabins. I can not say anything negetive about any of their properties thus far. The cabin was immaculate and so very beautiful. As soon as you walk in the door to Mountain View you feel like you are at home. My husband and I celebrated our 20th anniversary at Mountain View this year and it couldnt have been any better anywhere else. The photos that are displayed do not do this cabin justice. It is a must see and a must experience. Mountain View is close enough to all of the activites yet far enough away from everything that you dont realize there is anything going on around you. Just sit back and enjoy the serenity of the mountains. Tim and Terry have our business for as long as they own cabins. Anytime I hear of someone wanting to go to Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg I automatically recommend they check into renting a cabin from them. We have stayed at other cabins before and none of them compare to Terry Kay Cabins. Enjoy your stay in the Smokies and I hope you enjoy your stay with Tim and Terry as much as we have over the years. Cant wait til we can come back to Pigeon Forge again!
