The Master bed room has a jack and jill sink outside the main bath with a commode and tub/shower. It has a separate walk out onto the lanai. Two adults are very comfortable in there. I would not consider this bath handicap accessible.
Unfortunately, we can no longer claim dog-friendly status. However, therapy, assist and certified companion dogs are exempt from this rule and are welcome. You should check with your vet before bringing the dog to Sanibel or any similar area - it is not typically comfortable for dogs and ticks, fleas, insecticide and even small aligators are potential threats to dogs/cats.

The other bedroom has a full bed and a pullout bed. This room supposedly sleeps 4, but 4 adults in that room is very tight and not recommended. However, this is great for a family. Two adults and 2 kids would be fine in that room. There is no crib, but a device you can place between the buttresses and keep a small child in the bed. If you need an actual crib, Royal Shell Vacations is the on-site property management company and they might be able to rent you a crib. This bathroom has a sink, commode, and tub/shower. You can turn a wheelchair in this bath.
The main area is a combined kitchen living dining area with a TV/cable/DVD/VCR and is very open with two sides open glass looking out over the pool at the ocean. There are two couches and a recliner chair. You can head down the stairs, or elevator to the ground level parking lot and walk about 20 yards to one of the smaller the pools (see pic) then another 20 yards to the beach. Kitchen has electric range, microwave, coffeepot, toaster, toaster oven, blender, silverware, pots/pans and a good Paula Dean cutlery set.
The loaner closet is to the right as soon as you walk in. It has stocked with just about everything you would need for a day down at the beach. Please rinse everything with fresh water at the showers just off the beach as you come back though the pools area. There are two different type of towels stocked in the unit. Colored ones for the beach and plain white for inside the condo.
There are two really good gas grills (Weber) just down in the parking lot area. I have never had to wait to use them. Anything you catch, or buy can be grilled down there. The general store JErry's has excellent cuts of meats, chicken and local fish as well as pre-made skewers of just about anything. Stone crabs are seasonal.
The night is very quiet. The whole place seems to go to sleep around 10 pm. You will see people with flashlight on the beach after dusk. They are “shelling”. You should grab a flashlight, a shell net form the loaner closet and join them. Sanibel is the “shelling “capital of the world. Additionally, a whole other world of creatures come out at night and swim I the tide pools.
There is just one rule – do not take live shells. Anything with a live clam, shrimp, or crab in it must be handled briefly and returned gently. The Florida Fish &Wildlife will periodically check and they have no sense of humor about protecting live shells, beyond that- take a bag home.
If you use a wheelchair, the elevator works just fine, the doors are at least 31 inches, the hallway, kitchen, and baths are tile. You may find a manual chair hard to push on the deep shag carpet. You can reach the beach on all paved surfaces but you will need to go through the pool area to reach the beach, then 30 yards to the water (depending on tide) great restaurants on the island.
Keywords: May 2011 there is no one in this unit and we are really dealing! Modern, Upgraded, Tommy Bahama Decor, Full Kitchen, beach activities, beach fishing, family friendly- very safe, the best 'shelling' in the world within 25 yards. Walk around lanai with view of beach over the pool. Lots of Bike trails

About the owner: Native of Pennsylvania and Ohio, I enjoy helping families and people explore areas they have not been. Having grown up with real-estate and development in my blood this was a natural transition. Sanibel Island was the perfect place to find and share with family, friends and as a rental.

Sanibel Island is a sensible, affordable safe place as either a vacation site or an endpoint destination. With a portion of the Island being protected state park/wildlife refuge it is going to be clean and safe for the foreseeable future. There is really no limit to the activities available
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
You really don't have to go anywhere after you get here. There's plenty to do at this site. On-site tennis, basket ball courts, a pool within feet and a big Olympic size pool with waterpark features less than 1/2 a block through the parking lot, golf nearby, boat rentals, grocery, on-site gas grills. If you really feel adveturous, Fort Myers has a daily water shuttle to historic Key West, or rent a boat and head to Cabbage Key. Drive, walk or get a tour through the Ding Darling Wildlife Refuge. Hit the shell museum, movie theater and playhouse on rainy afternoons.
