My husband wanted me to find a place in Petoskey for my 50th birthday. Right from my initial correspondence it was obvious Leslie was hopping onboard to see that our stay would be a memorable one. She was my first inquiry and right away I knew I would not need to look any further. What a beautiful place. If you are looking for something where numerous activities and/or sights are literally at your doorstep, this is where you want to be. We would highly recommend bringing your bicycles as the bike path is right out your back door. We rarely used our vehicle during our stay. Matthew and I arrived with such confidence that everything would be just as it was on the website and actually it was better. The pictures do not do this place justice. It is gorgeous without losing the feel of being cozy and comfortable. We would like to thank Jeff and Leslie for being a huge part of making my 50th birthday unforgettable. Our only complaint, Leslie, is that you didn't control the weather. (Ha-Ha!) Actually, we were way OK with staying in on occasion because the place was so beautiful. A beverage, playing some cribbage, a fire and a perfect view of the bay was AWESOME! Sincerely, Matt and Julie : ) P.S. We loved the fireplace so much we just got a gas insert installed in our fireplace at home. We chose the decorative rocks instead of the logs or gems. It's FANTASTIC! I don't think we would have done that without enjoying yours. Thanks again! M & J.Recommended for: Girls getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

This vacation house is awesome! It is a beautiful house, with modern appliances, great furniture and a perfect layout. The view is out of this world and the location couldn't be better. It has easy access to the bike/walking path, which we enjoyed on a daily basis. It is a short walk downtown to all the shops and restaurants. We have enjoyed our stays for the last two years and we are booked for next year.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We stayed here with our four children ages 1-9 yrs and it was perfect. Everything on one floor; the kids loved the bunk beds which had a double bed on the bottom and a twin on the top; also loved having their own bath. We took a pack-n-play and the 1 year old slept in that. The location is also perfect for kids. The playscape and marina are 5 minutes or less walk; the bike path is right out the back door and downtown is an easy 5-10 minute walk also. Our oldest child enjoys history so we toured the local museum which is in the restored train depot. There is a large grassy area across the street adjacent to the beach. The kids played in this grassy area and strolled the beach for stones and shells. While the beach is fairly sandy, the swimming area is quite rocky, so we took the short drive to Petoskey State Park to swim, where you'll find a great beach. The house is stocked with all you need including floor fans. The washer/dryer was a huge asset as we had lots of laundry with children. We had a wonderful time and hope to return again.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We loved the house! We were in the bottom unit and had our kids and their spouses with us with plenty of room. The rental process was easy and checking into the unit was a breeze. The house was just as advertised with plenty of kitchen and household necessities for all 6 of us. The location and house are beautiful, right by the breakwater and marina and a 5 minute walk from the main park and town. This place is perfect and we've already made our reservations for next year.Recommended for: Families with young children, sightseeing, families with teenagers, tourists without a car.

Our entire potluck group stayed at both up and downstairs and we had a wonderful experience. The house is beautiful, updated and the location perfect for a getaway. It's about a five minute walk to downtown where we found fun and interesting restaurants. There are so many things to do in the area that we split up during the day and met back at the house in the afternoon to share our adventures. We cooked on the grill, played games, walked the paved path and relaxed with our friends We all recommend this escape into a time to refresh the soul and strengthen friendships.Did you find this review helpful? We just stayed at this property for a long week-end with our 3 adult children and their significant others. Watched movies, cooked, played games, enjoyed each others company by the fireplace while watching the frozen, snow covered Lake out the front window. We shopped in Petosky and Charlevoix, ate/drank/ and was very merry at a Microbrewery "Shorts" in Bellaire, and took beautiful winter walks around the harbor and the river (some one even went fishing) Beautiful location, beautifully decorated, comfortable, would love to come back!!!Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

Six of us spent a wonderful week at the beautiful, newly renovated house on Lake Street in Petoskey. The house is classy, beautiful and very comfortable for families. We found everything we needed to prepare meals and much more. Having two full bathrooms is a plus when families come together and they are gorgeous with great rain shower heads. We ate many meals on the porch watching people bike, jog or walk past the place on the paved 26-mile trail. Seeing kites flying, families swimming or walking on the pier or boats passing by is a delightful sight any time of day. The 1/4 mile walk to downtown is both pleasant and easier than finding a place to park in the town that has many activities going on daily. We could not be happier with the house and plan to return again this fall or winter. Thanks Jeff and Leslie for making your beautiful home open to many to enjoy.Recommended for: Girls getaway, people with disabilities, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

We stayed at the downstairs portion of the Petoskey house. Everything was newly redone, and was very nicely decorated. I would go out every morning and sit on the front porch and enjoy my breakfast and coffee with the gorgeous view! (the pictures don't do the view justice). Pro's: * Close to everything. The house is 100 yards from the Marina, 100 yards from the river, and less than 5 min walk to downtown Petoskey. * newly remodeled, and nicely decorated. * Jeff & Leslie ( The owners ) are very nice. * Fully stocked kitchen, linens, etc... (and a BBQ too) * Quiet neighborhood * Right on the Park, which is on the lake * WiFi * Cable TV Cons: * only 1 Starbucks in Petoskey (but you can ride your bike there, about 2 1/2 mi) I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to get away (we went in July and it was at least 15 degrees cooler than in Detroit. ) We did day trips to Mackinac Island, Charlevoix, & Traverse City We briefly saw the upstairs studio. it was also nicely decorated, and great for a couple or small family. One more thing. The view from the downstairs living room/dining room windows was awesome! very clean :)Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Thanks Jerry, We hope you and Stacey will visit again soon. Jeff and Leslie

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely vacation house. It was very comfortable, clean and quiet. The view of the lake and the marina was wonderful, especially at sunset. Our son enjoyed playing in the grassy park across from the house and the playground by the marina that is a short walk away. It was great to be within walking distance to downtown Petoskey too. All in all, a great vacation.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, tourists without a car.
