Very cozy Tree house cabin atop Moonridge, INTERNET ACCESS with WIFI, HBO, SHOWTIME, ETC., The Tree House sleeps 5, with one bath, 1 bedroom plus loft with 1 queen each.
The house sits on a half acre lot which opens to national forest at 7,500 ft. near the ski area. The wood burning fireplace is crackling and cozy on cold nights, in addition to normal forced air gas heating. It’s a great place for families: sledding in the yard in the winter and hike to the back woods in the summer! There’s even a seasonal stream that’s about 50 yards behind the house. There is off-street parking in the front, with space galore: the lot is 20,000 square feet.
It’s the perfect place to coddle with a hot chocolate or a glass of wine after a day of skiing and/or sledding in the winter or hiking and fishing in the summer.

Unfortunately, I have to agree with everything the previous reviewer wrote. I only wish the previous renter had posted his review earlier. The cabin itself has potential but it was dirty, especially the kitchen. The owners were responsive before we rented the cabin but not during our stay. We had a number of concerns upon arrival: the cleaning service had just arrived to clean the cabin at 6pm (because of a lost key), the driveway was not plowed, the steep staircase down to cabin was not plowed, and burned out light bulbs everywhere. Our text and voice mail messages were never returned during our stay. The cabin was definitely not as advertised. The internet never worked, which was a big problem since I had planned on working part of the stay. We cleaned the cabin and left the key where the owner stipulated in his rental agreement, however he claims it was not there and we were charged to change the locks. The rental agreement also stated a check would be issued to us 3 weeks after our stay, however the owner paid us through paypal 4 weeks later and only after I emailed him, then he charged us a $20 paypal charge. Okay, renter BEWARE! This place was dirt, dated and falling apart. Every wall fixture came off in our hands (towel racks, toilet tissue roll, coat hooks, etc.) It was ridiculous to spent the morning mopping floors and scrub toilets before we left and then have to harrass the owner for our security deposit back. They were very responsive by email and phone when they were courting us for a rental booking, once they had our check phone and email no longer worked!? Scary! Find another rental or bring a tool kit.Recommended for: Families with young children.

About the owner: My name is Marcela Peyton, we are a family of 5. My husband is from Wisconsin but we moved to California in the late 1980's. We have 3 beautiful children, one teen that loves sledding, and two young children that love to swim, ski, sled, and of course make a snowman.
Why the Owner Chose Moonridge:
My husband and I love the mountains and wanted to have a place where we could drive close to home, so we could spend time with our children during their vacations or just to go for a weekend getaway.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
Our cabin is the perfect place to be for us all year round. We love the tranquility around it. We love to barbecue in the summer & fall, and look at the stars during the night. It has a beautiful view of the forest and it is very peaceful. There are many activities we can do with our children during the winter, spring, summer and fall. It is the perfect place to be after our daily tasks and routine, we love all the changing seasons, we like to spend time with our children playing games, hiking, biking, sailing, skiing, sledding, collecting leaves, etc., or just reading books or watching movies. It is a great getaway!
