Welcome to "Seven Blue Mile" house, named for it's dramatic south coast whitewater views. It's seven miles from the house to the farthest visible sea-cliff on the horizon!
The house sits high atop a hill above the Sea Ranch Lodge, and offers views of the cliffs, bluffs, waves and trees at the south end of The Sea Ranch, past Stewart's Point, and beyond. Enjoy a 180 degree view of the sea and sky and see the earth curve!
Recently constructed in 2008. The home was not placed on the rental market until the fall of 2010. it's still like new!
The house has 3 stories, 3 bedrooms 3 baths and sleeps 6. The living room has a 52" flat screen HD TV mounted above a gas fireplace. The entertainment center has HD TV / DVD / CD player / i-pod dock with built in surround sound. There are outdoor speakers for the deck and hot tub. The hot tub is private and secluded but has gates that can be opened for an ocean view.
The living room, dining room, kitchen, laundry room and bath are on the ground floor or mid level. The bath has a shower which is only steps away from the hot tub. The large open kitchen has granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances; a french 3 door refrigerator with built in cold water dispenser, double wall convection ovens, dishwasher, microwave and 5 burner gas stove. There is a countertop TV with DVD player to watch while you cook. The laundry room has matching front load washer and dryer.
The private master suite with king size bed and master bath are located upstairs. It has a wall mounted LCD flatscreen HDTV with DVD and VHS player. There is an alarm clock with an i-pod dock and charger. The lower level has a guest room with queen bed, and kid's room with a twin over double bunk bed. Both rooms have their own flat screen LCD TV's with satellite. There is a shared full bath downstairs. All showers are of the walk in type, with no glass to wipe or clean.
A 2 car garage is included.
The home is private, nestled between the sea and sky with frequent visits by deer, quail, wild turkeys, foxes and rabbits. And it has incredible views!

this review has been copied and pasted from our property manager's website. Barbara O from Rochester, MN recommends this vacation rental My husband and I stayed 3 nights at 7 Blue Mile and enjoyed every minute. Relaxing in the living room with a glass of wine and watching the sun set change the sea and hillsides into a myriad of color variations was a highlight. Our first morning, we saw a pair of foxes sneak through the front yard...what a treat! Hiking through Sea Ranch trails we saw many deer, wild turkeys, soaring hawks and buzzards, any many songbirds that were unfamiliar to us. Everything in the home was first rate and well-maintained. Every single room had an amazing view, especially the master bedroom. Personal touches left by the homeowners were nicely sparse and tastefully endearing. I would unconditionally recommend 7 Blue Mile!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

this is a copy of a review that was posted on our property manager's website. Fabulous Elegant Home with a great view. Stayed 9 days in August, 2012. a guest from San Mateo, Ca recommends this vacation rental. Great house, great kitchen, great view and location up high on the hillside at Sea Ranch right across from the lodge. Complicated TV/AV system but finally figured it out. Would definitely stay there again!!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We are typically ocean bluff "Sea Ranchers" but decided to try a hill side house and we are now sold. This house has the best views we have had after our 5 stays at Sea Ranch. The master has a one of the best of the whole house and is amazing to wake up to. The kids said the window downstairs what better than watching tv and the deck has equally amazing shots of the coast. All modern appliances and furiture in the house (Ikea). The surround sound system is nice to listen to out on the deck and in the house. We backed up the driveway because it was a little tight for an SUV to turn around, but car would have no problem. Plus, two car garage to park in or store bikes. The beach is a short walk (10-15 minutes) and will give your legs a good work out on the way back up Moonraker. If you don't want the workout, simple 2 minute drive with ample parking in TSR. Lastly, you are close to some amazing running, hiking and mountain biiking trails. Road riding is epic, if you like to climb and enjoy views. We are coming back to this house from now on, thank you!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, pet owners, sightseeing, families with young children.
Owner response: hello Paul. Thank you for your kind review. We are glad you enjoyed your stay. We have been visiting the Sea Ranch at least 2 times per year for over 15 years. We also used to rent the meadow homes or bluff homes on the ocean side of highway 1. But we found the hillside homes to be more private. And we prefer the more open and panoramic views of the ocean and coast. We are always amazed at how the sea and sky are changing. We like to walk down to the beach too, when we can pry our boys away from their internet and computers. But once we go, they always seem to enjoy the beach and the lodge. Thanks for the compliment about the modern appliances and furniture, but one small correction. The furniture is from Room and Board and Pottery Barn, not Ikea. If only they would have come with Ikea price tags. By posting your review, you have qualified for a discount on your next visit. Simply book your reservation within one year, and let our property managers know. If needed, we can contact them to confirm. Thanks again for your review and we hope you will be back for another enjoyable experience! from the owners, Glenn, Marie, Olivia, Warren, and Trey

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2008
About the owner: The boys at nearby walk on beach, where the stream meets the sea. We were married at The Sea Ranch, and have been making several trips per year every year since 1995. After years of waiting, we were lucky enough to find a hillside lot with our favorite views, and were able to build our own home in 2008.
Why the Owner Chose Sea Ranch:
The Sea Ranch is a beautiful stretch of land, about 10 miles long and 1 mile wide, along the rugged Sonoma coast line. It is hard to decribe, a mixture of sea, land, sky, waves, beaches, rocks, cliffs, bluffs, coves, forests, trees, ridgelines, and an ever changing sky filled with clouds and stars. You have to be here in person to truly appreciate the beauty. If you have been here before, then you already know what we mean.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Most visitors seem to prefer the "meadow" homes, located west of highway 1, which are closer to the ocean and beaches. We found we prefer the hillside setting, which offers wide sweeping views of the land, sea, and sky. It is more private, and we are still able to make the short and quick drives down to the beaches and trails when we want. If we can pry the boys away from their video games, we sometimes even hike down the hill to blackpoint beach. We ususally have to bribe them with the promise of hot chocolate or a snack at the Sea Ranch Lodge.
