The Washington Square House, a 4 bedroom, 4 bath house accommodating up to 10 guests, is on Savannah’s picturesque Washington Square one and 2 blocks from River Street! This square, on Houston Street, is near the site of the old Trustees Garden. It was named for George Washington. For many years, until the mid-20th Century, this square was the scene of the biggest New Year's Eve bonfires, many often taller than the houses around the square. The Seaman's House, operated by the Port Society to serve the needs of visiting seaman, is on the southwest side of the square.
This circa 1790 - 1810 Historic home has recently undergone an "Award Winning" Historic Restoration. After setting vacant since 1992, the amazing miracle is that the house retained the vast majority of its original details! The original stair case, heart pine floors, all doors and hardware, windows, plaster ceiling medallions, bead board wainscoting, fireplaces and mantles, etc, etc.
The painstaking restoration was conducted by stringent guidelines laid out by the Department of Natural Resource in Washington D.C. These guidelines were followed in order to save the historic integrity of the home and its significant contribution to Savannah’s Landmark Historic. All of this and and 2 blocks to River Street!
No expense was spared on this Million Dollar Luxury Home. The period correct modernization of the property includes a formal Living and Dining Room, Sony home theatre/stereo system, state of the art gourmet kitchen, sun room, a lovely patio, courtyard and fountain for enjoying alfresco dining and relaxing, and of course; lavish, luxurious bathrooms!

My family and I stayed at the Washington House recently and the place was excellent. I want to commend Luxury Living on their customer care. There was a mix up in our reservation and Luxury Living went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. The house was emaculate and well decored. I will recommed Washginton Square House to anyone.The location is in perfect walking distance to enjoy all of downtown Savannah. Way to go you have a customer for LIFE!!

We are a group of 4 couples (old neighbors who now live all over the country) and we have rented VRBO homes for the past 6 years in Savannah. It was unanimous that this was the nicest place we have stayed....and we have stayed at some VERY nice homes! The Washington Square House is beautifully decorated, yet still very comfortable and homey. The location was perfect...close to the river, shops, antiques, and great restaurants.....but we ended up spending much more time at "home" cooking in that beautiful kitchen (which had everything)...and enjoying the beautiful courtyard for am coffee, and later for cocktails! We will be back, and would reccomend recommend this beautiful home without reservation!

Most amazing place we have ever stayed! The quality of the renovation work and the attention to detail is amazing. Although the decor is gorgeous, it is very comfortable and not overdone. We are five women who meet annually and appreciated that we each had our own beautiful bedroom and bathroom. Everything in the home was perfect....and so comfortable. This house is truly a treasure...this is the place to stay to experience old Savannah! We also were happy that we could be together and not in separate hotel rooms. Being located in the historic district is fantastic and we could walk everywhere. Loved Savannah and if we ever go back, we would stay at this place again. Five friends from NJ.

We just returned from a 5 day stay at the Washington Sq Main House! That property is beyond fabulous and so perfectly situated for downtown activities! It was the perfect SCAD graduation home base! Cannot wait to return!

Truly wonderful! If you have found this website and are looking for the great place to stay, consider yourself lucky. Twelve of us stayed in the main house and carriage house. Lived in Savannah many years ago and this house is so beautifully restored and maintained and in the perfect area to walk anywhere in the Historic District. The house is fantastic, beautifully furnished and appointed, well equipped, extremely comfortable, perfectly located..who could ask for anything more? Thank you for sharing your magnificent home with us. What a truly memorable experience! It was so much better than being in separate hotel rooms!

These are a fantastic HOUSES. There are too many good things to mention. It is extremely clean and very well maintained. If you want to experience historic Savannah, this is the place to choose! Most amazing place I have ever stayed. By far exceeds any hotel. All of our attendees were so favorably impressed, I would be afraid to even suggest another location for a meeting of this type for next year! This property exceeded our best expectations and receives a hearty "must try" for all. Special thanks to owners/hosts who were wonderful to work with through the entire process of planning and staying at the home. We would love to stay at Washington Square Houses again and again.

Really can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay (late March, 2010) at the Washington Square House. It's even prettier than the photographs online, beautifully decorated and comfortable. We particularly enjoyed sitting on the balcony with our wine, cheese and crackers, while we enjoyed a lovely wedding in the park. Wonderful getaway weekend for our group of long-time girlfriends. Would love to come back again! P.S. Cha-Bella restaurant around the corner on E. Broad Street was excellent.

This a wonderful, comfortable, convenient house for lots of exploring in downtown Savannah. We used it as a stop over in a drive to Florida and ended up staying longer in Savannah because the house was so nice. We will plan our vacations around this spot in the future and would like to recommend this house to everyone.

10 Tri-Delta's...35 years of friendship...gathered here for our annual reunion. If the "spirits" you hear laugh until the wee hours of the morning...it is us! NJ, FL, GA, OH, VA gals met in Savannah for our much needed girls weekend. We had a fabulous time in yours city and LOVED being all under one roof in such a warm and welcoming home.
