Directions to the house:
You will be checking in at the Majestic Lodge. Take the Pan American Highway to San Ramon,Exit when you see the sign directing you to San Ramon and drive through the town of San Ramon following the signs of the volcano route. You will go through Bajo Rodriguez, La Tigra, Chachagua and then finally, La Fortuna. When you get to La Fortuna go through the town and pass Tabacon on your right, then go a few more miles(about 4 miles) until you see a tiny little police station on your right..you will take a left there onto a dirt road. Go 3 or 4 miles until you get to an intersection where you must take a left or a right. You will see a lot of signs directing you to different places in El Castillo. You will take a left. Go another few miles until you go over a small bridge and take your next right...at more signs. Keep going straight. You will pass the Sky Trek and continue to follow the road for a few miles, keep driving until you go over another small bridge. You will pass the school on your left. You will see signs directing you to the Majestic Lodge and Howlers Bar and Grill. Continue about 1 more km and you will pass our bar/grill, Howlers, on your left and then you will see the Majestic Lodge. Please tell reception that you are staying at Walter’s House in El Mion (that is how they know it) and they will give you the keys. You will then go back out the way you came in, only ¾ mile on the right, you will see the school on your right.Take that right and you will be entering the village of El Castillo. Continue straight up the mountain and you will pass the Butterfly Conservatory and then Essence Arenal, both on your right. You house is two houses past Essence Arenal on the right. Please try to get here before dark, as it is extremely difficult to navigate here at night if you don't know where you are going. My number is 8-703-1561 and the number at the Majestic is 2479-1085.
