Charming, Private House on 400' of Deepwater Shoreline

Sunrise Point is a wonderful saltbox house on a five-acre deepwater lot with beautiful views and 400’ of shore frontage.
The open-layout two-story home has a spacious family room, large kitchen, two bathrooms and three bedrooms (two with queen beds and one with two twins).
Comfortable, cozy and nicely furnished, this is the place for your relaxed coastal vacation. Get away from it all without leaving behind many of the amenities of home: two flat-screen TVs with satellite & HD channels (one with a DVR)... wireless Internet... free long-distance... fully appointed kitchen... comfortable beds... fireplace.
Lounge by the fire looking at the water through a wall of glass doors. Enjoy sea breezes from the oceanside deck. Relax in Adirondack chairs on a mossy point overlooking the granite shoreline. The point is the perfect place to drink coffee and watch the sun rise over Harrington Bay (you'll be among the first in the U.S. to see it, from this point in the nation's easternmost county)... sip cocktails as the setting sun illuminates lobster boats in Ripley Neck Harbor... or roast marshmallows over the fire pit as cool evening fog rolls over the bay.
Plenty of activities await the more active members of your crew. Explore the shoreline around Sunrise Point. Dig for clams at low tide. Take spectacular hikes at McClellan Park, Petit Manan Wildlife Refuge, Bold Coast Trails in Cutler, and Acadia National Park’s Schoodic Point.
The setting is wonderfully remote, private and quiet. Still, it is convenient to the relaxed fishing villages of Downeast Maine, shopping and dining. Only 1 hour to Bar Harbor and Mount Desert Island, 45 minutes to Ellsworth, 1 hour and a half to Bangor International Airport, 1 hour to West Quoddy Head Lighthouse (easternmost point in the U.S.), and just over an hour to historic Campobello Island, Canada (bring your passports).

We had a great stay at this wonderful coastal home- Sunrise Point. The location of the house is very private and quite beautiful. Nice flowers around the place and excellent views out over the bay and up to the islands. The entire area around the house was perfect for walking. We took long walks around the area and thoroughly enjoyed exploring the coastal scenery. While located in a very quiet and private setting, we were very happy to have easy access to the village of Milbridge which was just 3 miles down the road and had everything we needed- a large supermarket, a drug store, bank with ATM, and two good restaurants (44 north and Fisherman's Wife). 44 North had good diner type food and was not expensive. Fisherman's Wife was more of a take-out place and had great sandwiches and lobster rolls (get the lobster toll toasted). Having a good supermarket so close was very nice because it was easy to get things to cook in for breakfast and lunch and a couple of dinners. The Cinnamon Stick gift store was also nice and we picked up a couple of items for friends. The house itself was extremely clean, had nice decor, and was very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking. We enjoyed the fireplace, and we really liked the open layout of the kitchen and living room with the cathedral ceilings and big views out to the water. One evening we watched a truly amazing full moon rise over the bay - our photos we took of it do not do it justice. We are very pleased with the location we chose for this trip. We felt like this was a much less touristy and more authentic area of the Maine coast than what you find further south. We did a trip to Schoodic Peninsula which was breathtaking and also visited Roque Bluffs beach and Acadia National park on Mt. Desert Island. We wanted to go up to the Quoddy Head lighthouse (suggestion from friends) but simply ran out of time. We did not want to push ourselves too much and wanted to just relax on a couple of days. So, we will have to come back and see the things we missed on the first visit. Anyway, this home was a great place for our vacation, and we would recommend it without hesitation.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.
