have stayed in the house before-nice updates to appliances and paint-beatiful deck-have told many friends about the house-great overall experience!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Wow! great place. I recomend your house Patti to all groups of people. The view from every window in every room was second to none. The place was as clean as could be. Depot Bay is a great small town. I used to be in the coast guard many moons ago and visiting the coast guard station there was a treat. All parties in my group loved the house. There is one thing that I would change though, we wanted to watch the Cival war game togather between Oregon and Oregon St. and the small TV(20"ish) in the living room made it bit difficult. I would at least have a 36"-42" TV there however having small flat screen TVs in the bedrooms was a nice touch. That was the only thing that I would change other wise a great place and we are going to rent it again. There are some steps from the parking area so no the best for the very elderly or disabled. My mother is 86 and it was almost too much but she was able to do it. Thanks Patti you were great.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We were invited to the beach by a close friend (Karen L). We were impressed before we even got inside. This house is so very well kept and inviting all the way from the front steps to the upstairs quarters. Everything you could possibly need for a relaxing visit is here. We made a trip to the store (very close) and ate in, except for one evening at Tidal Rave which is worth a trip. The view from the house is phenomenal and entertaining with all the fishing boats leaving and entering the harbor just a stone's throw away. The home's decor is fun and warm with a little mix of antiques and just plain comfy seating areas. We plan to visit again whenever we can.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We loved staying at Whale Vista....The home was lovely and very comfortable...The views were spectacular and the Whales were plentiful. We saw whales from each bedroom and living each and every day, several times per day. It was thrilling and much fun. Whale Vista was just what we wanted - 3 bedrooms, all with ocean view, and cozy and clean. Wine and goodies were awaiting our arrival and we settled right in. Very cozy and clean. Would definitely recommend this property. Whale watching right from your own deck, or living room, or bedroom. WOW! If you want a little boutique shopping, head toward Nye Beach - lovely little coastal spot with cute restaurants. Thank you Michael and Patti for a lovely spot for our retreat from the city. You cannot get a better view!!!!! Every bedroom had a wonderful view of the ocean and we felt at home as soon as we walked in the door. Very cozy and all the amenities of home. Michael and Patti were very responsive to any inquiries. A nice basket with wine and goodies was awaiting our arrival. We spent four lovely days on the coast.Did you find this review helpful? WOW!!! Whale Vista is absolutely amazing! We have stayed all over in Depoe Bay and this is by far our favorite place (have stayed twice and will be back for more). The location is perfect - close walk to town. The ocean views are incredible from every room with great patios. Each night we sat on the patio with a fire overlooking the ocean and then walked to town for dinner. The house has everything you might need, has many upgrades and is very comfortable. Patti is extremely helpful and friendly and makes everything very easy. Overall I can't say enough about how perfect this vacation home is. It is by far the best I've seen in Depoe Bay - the photos don't do it justice. It is spectacular!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

40 years ago Patti first saw Whale Vista Cottage and fell in love with it. Since then, most trips down the Oregon Coast have included a stay in Depoe Bay (and a stroll on the quiet road that passes by Whale Vista!)
