  my husband and I stayed here for one night and had a wonderful time. the hosts were welcoming and let us wander around the farm. the carriage loft was clean and perfect for a little getaway we were seeking. the owners gave us a half dozen eggs from the chickens and offered us to take advantage of their "you pick" policy and pick what we wanted from their garden. it really couldn't have been any nicer. we made some of the eggs for breakfast in the loft's kitchen which had every utensil and pan you could possibly need.

  Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing.

  Thank you, Jeanne and Bob, for a very comfortable and relaxing three-day getaway! We loved the fine linens, comfortable bed, gourmet kitchen and cookware, beautiful pool and bbq/outdoor eating area, your fresh eggs,veggies, herbs, and melons. It was also wonderful to see your pigs and chickens and pet your friendly dogs and cat. We enjoyed touring a few of the local wineries (Wise Villa, Mt. Vernon, and Vina Castellano), and the quick trip to the Bel Air/Raley's Market for our nightly barbeque. Most of all we appreciated your hospitality! We have already recommended your place to several friends. Next time I want to stay in the pool house, as it's even closer to the pool and has a lovely deck and bigger and sunnier living room. Thanks again for a delightful stay!

  We stayed two nights in the carriage house and had a wonderful time. The accomodations were spotless, the bed was comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped; we had everything we could possibly need in the cottage. The grounds are spectacular and beautifully maintained with a lovely pool and spa.. The owners, Bob and Jeanne are delightful and gave us fresh eggs from their hennery and watermelon from their garden. We will definitely stay again!

  My husband & I spent a wonderful relaxing weekend at the Carriage house in Auburn last weekend! Owners Bob & Jean have a beautiful property and we enjoyed the views, fresh eggs from their chickens and some fresh veggies from their garden. Although there was another family staying in the other rental,there is an abundance of space and plenty of privacy. We had such a great time we are hoping to plan a trip in the future & bring along our daughters & their families! We highly recommend this rental. Good for a romantic get-away & also would be a great place for family.

  We had an absolutely fantastic time staying in Carriage House in this property. It is perfectly appointed, quiet, and has all the small but important touches like fresh flowers from the garden and fresh eggs from the chickens. The pool was warm and clear and HUGE and quiet...the spa was wonderful. Our dog loved playing with the beautiful collies on the property and was bummed to head back to the city. Can't wait to get back!

  Our little loft home was so wonderful and perfect for the 2 of us!! Jeanne and Bob made us feel comfortable and welcomed. The loft layout was perfect and the amenities were spectacular! You will be happy you chose to stay here!

  The property is gorgeous. The family is extremely friendly and helpful. They have fresh eggs and it is very kid friendly. The pool is spectacular. The animals on the property are lovely. Why would you stay in a hotel when you can relax in luxury. The surrounding hills are also beautiful. I'll be back.

  We stayed in the Carriage Loft for 5 nights while visiting our kids and grandkids in Auburn. What a beautiful place! The whole property is lovely with well-cared-for landscaping! The fall flowers and colored leaves were still great in November! We were so very comfortable in the Carriage Loft with plenty of room for the 2 of us. We didn't need to use the kitchen except for breakfasts, but it was complete with full size appliances and all the utensils you could want. It was so great to have a nice place to relax after busy days with our family! It was too cool for using the pool, but it was beautiful just to look at! The views out the windows in all directions were great! And we really appreciated the warm hospitality of Bob, Jeannie, and their kids. They made us feel almost like family! We would recommend this lovely place to anyone wanting a quiet clean comfortable friendly place to stay while in Auburn!

  At the end of a paved lane off of the main road, there is a little cluster of a carriage loft, house and pool house nestled against the "pastoral views". The views, the buildings, the amenities all blend perfectly together. You can briefly step a little bit out of the busy world around you and into a beautiful quiet sanctuary complete with fields, romping collies, chickens and pigs. As much as you feel like you've stepped into the country side, the loft and pool area have every technological perk. Do you want to pre-heat the hot tub with the iphone left in your room? Go for it. Do you want to watch 3d flat screen tv while sitting by the outdoor gas fireplace? No problem. Do you want to DVR a show while you shower? Easy. We explored each day. It's a quiet area, don't expect a hustling bustling city. But if you want to eat good food, see a tiny museum, watch glass blowing, go wine tasting, run wild outdoors... this is the place for you. Expect the owners to check in with you, to be friendly and happy that you are happy. Their son likes to ride his bike in the paved area - he'll wave and say hi as you walk by. Our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer... so just please don't try to take our spot the next time we want to go back!

  What a hidden Gem the carriage loft is! Bob and Jeanne have done an exceptional job at creating the perfect retreat. I was tired and ready for a good night sleep after working all week and then flying into Sacramento and beginning my journey to Auburn. I was so excited when I pulled into this gorgeous property in the countryside. It was welcoming and everything I hoped for in a country stay. The loft was so nicely furnished and every detail was seen to. I had fresh flowers, a bottle of wine and they even went out and bought a new iron and ironing board for me because I requested one. In the refridge was fresh farm eggs from their chickens , fresh jam and an assortment of gourmet coffee's and teas.The cupboards were all nicely stocked with everything you need to prepare a nice meal, they even have a jennair cooktop with a grilling section! WOW!! My bed was so comfortable and the pillows and duvet of all such top quality. Everything in this loft is the best..plush linens, super soft towels, great electronics! An IPHONE for your use.. Just great. The views are beautiful looking into pasture land and the pool area. Waking up to this daily was a real treat. You get roosters too! I loved it. The family makes it special from Bob and Jeanne's hospitable personalities , A nice blend of the right amount of privacy, to hospitable friendliness and help in whatever you need to their really nice children , sweet pets and farm animals. It was a treat to stay there and I will definately go back time and time again! The location is great and the accomodation perfect! Oh and get this.. Darling Ladies and Mens key chains by Coach..Perfection right down to the key chains. I am staying in their pool house next time, I will let you know what that is like after that stay! I dont think you could go wrong with either accomodation. Thank you again Bob and Jeanne for a great stay.

  My sister, brother-in-law and I stayed last month at Bob and Jeanne's vacation rentals. I was in the Carriageloft, and the other two stayed in the Poolhouse. It was so convenient to have these two units in close proximity to each other. Both places were wonderful, and it is very obvious that these two have made an extraordinary effort to ensure that their guests enjoy their stay in comfort. Both rentals are furnished in lovely style, with amenities galore. They had our favorite beverage in the frig when we arrived, and also had fresh flowers and vegetables from their lush gardens awaiting us. Too many special touches to count! The grounds are spectacular! Bob and Jeanne were well organized, easy to work with through the reservation process, and so friendly - you feel like you are instant members of their family, yet they respect your privacy. We were in the area for a sad occasion (our cousin's memorial service), and the peaceful surroundings and lovely accomodations were a very welcomed respite for the three of us, and allowed us to share precious time together. This is a very special place to stay if you are in the Auburn area. Thanks for everything Bob and Jeanne! Anne

  What a cozy nest. I spent a couple of weeks here while my home was being remodeled. It was delightful, as were my hosts. It was a wonderful respite, fully equipped so I could live and work in comfort. I would also recommend this to anyone looking for a get away in an amazing location; spend the day hiking the canyon, swimming the rivers...then come home to this nest. It is small but fully equipped and you will have access to all of the amazing outdoor amenities on this property so you can continue to enjoy the outdoors, the pool, hot tub, the vegetable garden... The view from the bedroom window will have you rising early. I stayed in this loft and the pool house. I loved them both, but for my purposes, I found this one more accommodating. It was closer to my car for continuous comings and goings. My friends and family loved the pool house. It was great for entertaining. I will definitely be recommending both of these finds to friends and family and anyone needing temporary housing or a great get away.

  The Carriage Loft is FABULOUS! My wife and stayed here on our wedding night, and ended up liking it so much that we rented it out for the first 6 weeks of our marriage. The family that owns the Carriage Loft lives in their home on the same property, and the loft sit above their garage, which offers ultimate privacy. They are very kind and responded quickly to any tiny need we had while staying at the Carriage Loft, as well as reached out with the offer to call them if there was anything we needed. There are horses that you can see from the bedroom window, a wonderful pool and spa that can be used at your leisure, and a ping pong table in the pool house for guest use! The location is great, as it’s far enough away from town to have a peaceful, country feel, but close enough where you can go to several restaurants, grocery stores, and the like within 2 minutes. It’s also about an hour to North Star at Tahoe and many other premium ski resorts. We like the area so much, we're considering moving nearby! The loft itself is such a treat to stay in. It’s a cozy, spacious 1 bedroom/1 bath with hardwood floors, granite counter tops, all new appliances of high quality, beautiful dark cherry wood style cabinets, with satellite TV and state of the art climate control. The furniture is classy but comfortable. The bed is new and the bedding is superb. The “little things” make a huge difference as well: The towels are nice and fluffy, the sheets are comfortable, kitchenware, pots, and pans are all very nice quality. Brands of these items are Sur le Table, Pottery Barn, Cuisenart, Crate and Barrel, and the like. It’s very comfortable to cook at the Carriage Loft, and easy to clean up, as there is dishwasher that works very well. The fact that there is a new stackable wash/dryer is very handy as well, so you don’t have to worry about not having enough clothes or over packing. The Carriage Loft is a great place for a romantic weekend (or longer) get away, visiting Gold Country, a place to stay while visiting relatives who live in this area (Grass Valley, Nevada City, Roseville, Auburn, etc.), or just a plain old visit to get a reasonably priced few nights of peace and quiet. I would highly recommend the Carriage Loft and plan to stay here again, as well as recommend it to friends and family. Enjoy your stay!
