What a wonderful vacation home! The photos truly don't even begin to show how beautiful it was. The house itself was gorgeous and we were delighted with the fully equipped kitchen, not to mention the fabulous wrap around decks where we could enjoy the sunset over the bay. It comfortably accommodated the four families in our group and the kids loved exploring the tide pools and sleeping in the bunk beds! We enjoyed access to both resort pools, they were both beautiful as well, although we hope that they decide to heat them for future years as they were a little chilly in March! We were able to walk to one of them and also used the grills for lunch and beach access to play in the ocean. We definitely hope to be back!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We had a family reunion in Galveston with families from TX, MA, and WA. It was wonderful space - big enough for all and a nice great room for all of us to eat and congregate in. The location on the bay was good in that we saw some interesting birds lurking around. Also the walk to gulf beach was not bad and the beach was beautiful over there! Everyone had their own space too if the crowd was too loud or much for them to deal with. TVs in each room was nice though we did not use them much. Most of what we did - movies, grocery stores, restaurants, museums, were ALL downtown Galveston which was a ways away and thus took some planning to go to and extra time to get there/back. However, having a clean, large place to stay was needed so that was our trade off. I thought some additional items could be available in the house - which would make it a bit more comfortable, like hand soap and napkins, some basic items like scissors/pens, cooking oil and some other basic items in the kitchen. We were happy to see several decks of cards and plenty of books to read - though we all brought our own. Some of the appliances were HARD to figure out - esp. the coffee maker. It was constantly leaking water and turned off regularly during the cycle. Overall, the space was what we needed and this house provided it - well laid out and having 5 baths was a HUGE plus. It was clean and well cared for which made it comfortable for all of us also. Heat was hard to gauge as some places were HOT and others were drafty. This probably usually does not matter since it is Texas! Thanks for allowing us to use your house - we enjoyed ourselves and liked being able to all stay together. Another big plus for renting was that the owner was reactive and easy to contact prior to renting. This made me feel like we knew the house would be well cared for and we would get what we were paying for when we got down there. Dealing with a competent and engaging owner took precedence over some of the other rentals we looked at since some did not respond to our requests or questions prior to booking.Recommended for: Families with teenagers.

This home is amazing. Our family has stayed at Pointe West 6 times in the last 5 years and this is by far the best property we have stayed at. Joseph was easy to work with and I appreciate his up front and honest approach to the business side. Pointe West is still in the recovery mode but they are slowly but surely going to get back up to a smooth running operation. I would highly recommend this vacation home!Recommended for: Age 55+, people with disabilities, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

This house was fantastic! It was beautifully decorated and very comfortable for our family & very clean. The views are amazing, we spent much of our time on the porch relaxing. It is just a short walk over to the beach and the bay is literally in the backyard. We fished and caught hermit crabs with the kids in the bay. My husband even commented that it was the most relaxed he'd been in years. The owner was very helpful with everything. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to come back again soon.Recommended for: Age 55+, people with disabilities, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Four Generation Family Fun was experienced in this wonderful Vacation Rental. The house is arranged with great detail for large family gatherings. The kitchen is well equiped with applicances and cooking utensils. The dining area allows for a large group to have a meal together-inside and outside. The bedrooms and bathrooms are beautifully decorated and comfortable. The outside decking allows for viewing the sunrise at the front of the house, and the rear decks offer a splendid view of the setting sun. Also, many hours were spent watching the birds in the surrounding wetlands. This rental offered the use of the club and pool facilities at Pointe West. We spent time at the "Lazy River" pool. It was perfect as our grandchildren; 1 and 2 1/2 years old. This pool had good shading, a splash pad, and a wading pool. It complimented the needs of our small guest. There is also the lazy river, a deeper pool and a hot tub for the more adventuresome guest. We did travel to Surf Side for a couple of meals: The Purple Cow and The Red Snapper Inn. Otherwise our week was spent at Pointe West club and the nearby beach. The homeowner, Joe, was so helpful with our many questions prior to the rental agreement and with subsequent questions prior to our arrival. Everything was just as he promised and suggested. We would definately recommend this property and this owner. Both were extraordinary.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, people with disabilities, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Why the Owner Chose Pointe West:
This is our second home on the west end of Galveston. We love the uncrowded wide beaches, dunes, marshes, birds and great fishing. Pointe West location adds the convenience of two swimming pools, gym and clubhouse plus the many miles of biking or walking paths within the community. The views are spetacular. It's a great palce to relax and have family fun.
