My husband and I spent 3 days in this cottage and it was just great. The cottage is nicely decorated and very cozy. We walked the beach, went to a great farmers market and hiked some of the park trails. Ericka and Susan are both very nice and helpful. I was looking for a relaxing weekend it this exactly fit the bill. We loved it!

My husband and I had a very relaxing weekend at the cottage. The cottage is located right on the beach, the photos do not do the cottage justice, looking out of the front room window feels like you are on the water, it is amazing. Erika was very helpful and friendly she even helped us carry our belonging down to the cottage. The cottage was very clean and we had everything we needed. I would recommend this cottage to friends and relatives and hopefully will be renting it again myself. We enjoyed the European Market in Chesterton, we bought the best cookies ever there! We watched a movie in Michigan City which was close. Mostly we just enjoyed the sound of the waves and watched the stars.

Just got back from a weekend stay and it was amazing. Pictures do not do this place justice. The house was everything you could want and perfect for a weekend getaway but would be even better for a week long stay or more. The kitchen was awesome, the view was spectacular, the bed was super comfortable and the owners were so nice and helpful.I would recommend this to anyone that is looking for a place to get away. We were blessed with temps in the 70-80's in March so we were very lucky to be able to enjoy the beautiful beach. Would not list this as a downfall just a side note, long steep set of 50+ stairs to get down to your little piece of heaven so do your shopping before hand and make meals there. Trust me once you get there you won't want to leave anyway. Also I recommend bringing paper plates and plastic cups not because there were not enough dishes, because they had wonderful dishes, just because you won't want to waste your time washing dishes!!! Keep in mind downstairs unti has 2 bedrooms and is just as wonderful for larger parties!!

My wife and I and another couple (4 adults total) comfortably shared this cottage over the Labor Day weekend 2011. Very reasonable rates for the area, and incredible location right on the water. Wonderful access to the Dunes, and very close to other local amenities (Steam Power Musuem!). Kitchen was well situated and allowed us to bring in groceries and cook for ourselves. Days and nights on the beach, what could be better?

Can't wait to come back!
Can't wait to come back!
We stayed here for a weekend and it was great! We were comfortable, relaxed and so close to the beach and water! We cooked all of our meals here, the kitchen was well equipped, modern and spacious. The grill was great to have as well. Having the private beach was really nice too and the views are amazing- Very quiet area! Owners are very nice and willing to help with any questions- Their pride of ownership shows! We can't wait to return with friends and before we even left we were talking about how we wanted to make this a yearly, or even twice a summer visit! Thank you for providing such a great place that brought back memories of growing up with family vacations on Lake Michigan-- we had a great time!

Everything was awesome as soon as we got there. We were shown were to park to what we had in the cottage. We had a great view looking out on the lake and the sunsets were breath taking. The beach was right there and the breeze coming off the lake kept the cottage cool. The whole week was very relaxing and no worrys. You always seen the owners walking up/down the beach so if you had any questions she or her sister was there to answer. If you wanted to walk down to the State Park beach it was only 10 min away.My husband and I did some exploreing going up and down the side road and got good pics of the wild life and the marshes. If you want to be right on the beach and close to the water this is the place. The cottage is fully furnished but no clock radio. If you have problems with steps you do have 50 steps you need to get to the cottage from the parking lot.But once you get everything to the cottage you do not need to leave. My husband and I are already making plans for next year. For the price and a week getaway this is the place.

Charming Livable Beach Cottage
Charming Livable Beach Cottage
I love to be steps away from the water, have a lake view out my windows, field plenty of light, be near some people but not flooded by tourists, and enjoy a neat, clean, rustic space. This cottage filled the bill. Located right on the beach where you can hear the waves, the cottage has huge picture windows and outer deck that wake with the sun and capture the pink-orange sunset. A sprinkling of neighbors makes the stay homey while still allowing for much needed rest and solitude. I brought my geriatric labrador-shepherd mix, and she loved just lying on the deck reigning above the sand and breeze. You can swim day or night, build a fire on the beach, take long dune walks up the bluff, go to town for coffee and quiche, take in the Indiana State Park and its ancient glacial history, and have your sweet little cottage to return to. I loved it.
