Beech Mountain is the premier North Carolina ski resort, and our "Beech House" is situated on a gorgeous lot right on the ski slopes. We enjoy multi-mile, 180 degree views from the deck, the living room, and kitchen. We are proud to be the ONLY home on Beech Mountain to actually be located on TWO ski slopes. We are located right where Upper and Lower Shawneehaw converge. Ski off the front deck onto the more advanced slope, or exit downstairs onto the beginner slope! Return to either slope by separate chair lift! It is a great home for a mountain get-away.
We have been regulars at Beech Mountain for more than 20 years, and can assure you that this is the perfect home for a mountain get-away. Enjoy the Ski-In/Ski-Out convenience during ski season, or enjoy the great mountain peace and quiet, cool air, great hiking right out your front door, and long range views that can`t be matched any time of the year!
At an elevation of 5200 feet and boasts views of four mountain ranges into North Carolina, Tennessee, and southwest Virginia. Watch skiers on the lifts go up to the top, and very soon see them ski or snowboard just a few feet from the deck of the house. Large windows overlook the slopes and mountain ranges so if the deck is too cold, you can stay inside by the fire and not miss a minute of the fun. You can also enjoy night skiing, which is as much fun to do as it is to watch from the house. When watching the fun becomes too much to handle, you can put on your skis or grab your snowboard, step out of the house, and you`re on your way. Coming in after skiing is just as easy. Ride the quad high-speed lift to the top and ski right down to the house!
The construction features many large windows, exposed beams, and a deck overlooking the ski slopes and the town of Beech Mountain, NC, as well as miles and miles of mountain ranges beyond. After a great day on the slopes skiing in the winter or hiking in the non-ski season, or a summer round of golf, or a scenic drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway, trout fishing, or a bike or hike on the many trails in the areas, or shopping at the local shops and markets, you will come back to a fully furnished home away from home. Turn on the gas fire in the winter or eat on the deck in the cool summer breezes (summer high temperature is around 74º).
The house is equipped with a Satellite TV with DVD player in the living room, and TV/DVDs in each bedroom. The laundry room is down the spiral stairs just off the lower foyer. Each bedroom has a queen bed. The family bedroom also has twin bunk bed and a twin in the loft. The sofa is a queen sleeper. There is a full bath in the hall as well as in the family bedroom. There are marble counters in kitchens and baths, and a gas/stone fireplace.
This home has full Beech Mountain Club Membership Privileges that are offered as an amenity to our rental guests. There is a work out center available year round, and seasonal access to the Golf Course, Clay Tennis Court, Pool, and Club arranged mountain activities for all ages.
The Beech Mountain Club:
The Clubhouse, main dining room and bar offers spectacular Blue Ridge Mountain views. Menus provide a balance of traditional mountain cuisine and fresh seasonal selections. Opportunities exist for dinner parties and catered events to celebrate festive occasions and make memories of a lifetime. The Clubhouse remains open between May and October, mirroring the Golf and Tennis seasons.
The Pump House is the food outlet adjacent to the Pool and open seven days a week between Memorial Day and Labor Day. The menu for the Pump House starts with pizza and offers family fare with an emphasis on selections for children who participate in the Day Camp program located adjacent to the Pool facility.
The beautiful 18-hole ridge-top layout stretches over elevations between 4,200 and 4,700 feet providing respite from summer heat with average temperature rarely exceeding 72 degrees. Golfers enjoy excellent vistas of mountain ranges in Tennessee and Virginia.
With 10 Har-Tru composition clay courts, Beech Mountain Club offers the premier Tennis facilities in the high country. Lessons and clinics for all ages are offered with additional opportunity to demonstrate your skills during inter-club competition.

Our stay at the Slopside Chalet was fabulous and your team was very accommodating in every way possible. Our group thoroughly enjoyed the Slopeside Location! The quick and easy, "in and out" location made it a true blessing during the times of inclement weather as well as a true blessing during the times of perfect weather. Thank you for the wonderful stay at Slopeside! Wow that was a lot of snow! We loved the location of the house and the fact that it was accessible from a green and a blue. That way the newer skiers did not have to conquer the blue to get back to the house. Thank you again for the quick response to the issues we had upon arrival. The bed in the master bedroom was wonderful. The house met our needs and we will likely try to rent this house again next year! Have a great day!!!Did you find this review helpful? The rental exceeded our expectations in several ways. We had plenty of room for our party of six, even though it was a 2 bdrm, due to the good layout of rooms and beds. The location was amazing; it looked like the most convenient ski in/ski out on the mountain and. We put our skis on while on the deck and pushed off down the slopes. Master bedroom was very comfortable and the kids enjoyed their room. Kitchen and baths were in good condition and clean. The instructions were thoroughDid you find this review helpful? About the owner: I am a Boone, NC resident, and I teach Physics at Appalachian State University. I have a wife and two daughters, who are currently home schooled. I also play fiddle in a travelling bluegrass and gospel group.
Why the Owner Chose Beech Mountain:
I have always loved Beech Mountain, which I consider to be the premier ski resort in the High Country, and so I was very excited to find this affordable property right on the slopes.
