  This was our first experience renting a property and it was not a disappointment . Our family had a wonderful time and we will want to do this again!The beach house was very spacious giving everyone room to be together as well as have their privacy. The bedrooms were all spacious, the open rain shower master bath took some getting used to but was wonderful. The second level provided an abundance of room for us to all get together, plan the next days activities or discuss the days adventure. It was great watching the sunset and just relaxing after the days activities (in and out of the infinity pool). There were novels and games, binders of info on the area, beach umbrella and boogie boards provided to help make your stay great! We all like to fish, so it was great to be able to have the use of Kalon’s boat (price of gas and tip for Arturo). While fishing we had the opportunity to see whales, dolphin and loads of turtles as well as catch lots of barilettes, seirra mackerel, jack crevelle and a dorado. Our daughter took surf lessons (Mike Linn at Majahua), we went horse back riding, bogie boarding and enjoyed the beach. We even took in the fair that happened to be in town! It is about half a mile walk along the beach to Majahua (a little farther by the road). The Majahua Palms (resort/bar/restaurant) is about 600 yards to the other side of the beach house and has free Internet. The people at Majahua and the resort are all very friendly. Great restaurants at both places if you want to eat out. We had arranged for Reyna to prepare dinner the day of our arrival … WOW, a huge delicious lobster dinner (about 100 peso/person and cost of food)! As well as her breakfast every day, we had her make tortilla soup and ceviche for lunches, all excellent. Arturo cleaned the fish we caught and Reyna cooked it up another day. Our stay was every thing we hoped for and more. We hated to leave!

  The location is great! It's a bit isolated which gives you this quiet peacefull place to stay, a great view to the sea, but not too far away from shops and restaurants. You do need a car/ bike here. The house is unbelievable! The common area is all open, you get this fresh breeze all day, by the pool, relaxing or cooking in this great Big kitchen! Bedrooms are more than you could ask for: comfortable beds, A/C, imaculate bathroom. Reyna and Arturo, the house keepers are the sweetest couple ever, and they made everything to make sure we were okay - besides the delicious meals Reyna makes!!! The only thing missing in the house is Wi Fi, so you do need to drive to a cafe or restaurant to use the Internet. I would definitely go back to Princesa del Mar! No doubt!!

  Fabulous remote private house with helpful and caring staff. Delicious food. Loved the tranquility of the area and the chance to disconnect with the busy life at home. Short walk to beautiful and empty beach. Warm pacific ocean refreshed our souls. Princesa Del Mar is a jewel! Reyna and Arturo will always be in our hearts.

  What a great time we had staying at your beautiful house.Loved the upper floor living room with the constant,fresh,cooling breeze and great kitchen layout. The bedrooms were very comfortable and clean,each with a bathroom and A.C. The upper,super private bedroom has spectacular views and an outstanding outdoor bathroom. Reyna was a treat ,finding out when everybody liked to eat and making allowances for the larger eaters and vegetarians in the group.Great chili rellanos,guacamole,pico de gallo as well as the fabulous breakfasts. The owner was extremely helpful and very pleasant to deal with. Had great time surfing,boogie boarding and walking on the mostly empty beaches. This property might not,however, be to everyone's taste.There aren't T.V.'s,telephones and internet on the property.The village is a bit of a walk away (maybe a 1/2 mile).Without a car it might be difficult to get some of the groceries.For us though,it was exactly what we wanted. Very private,no close neighbours,no need to worry about playing music late at night. Great veggies at the Monday farmer's market in Lagunillas,watch for the fresh fish guy's small red truck on the road to Troncones in the A.M. and La Saladita is a worthwhile surfing side trip. Can't wait till the next time we can stay!Hope it's still available! (We've already recommended the house to some of our friends)

  Truly a one of a kind place. Beautiful construction & attention to detail. Always had a breeze on the open air 2nd floor. Great space for yoga, reading, or relaxing in the hammock. Views and the sound of the ocean make it very relaxing. Master suite with open air rain shower is amazing. House is private, yet walking distance to restaurants, swimming, etc. And Reyna is such a lovely person & a great cook. Very accommodating. Local community is great too. People are so helpful and friendly.

  Whether you want to feel like a prince or a princess, Princessa Del Mar is the place for you. We stayed in the third floor master suite and from our balcony could see the Pacific Ocean, Playa Trancones and Playa Majahua. This remote and quiet property guarded by playful guide dogs was well maintained, clean, and conducive for a romantic getaway. Reyna, the housekeeper and gourmet chef exceeded our expectations and was easy to communicate with despite the language barrier. Snorkeling, bird photography, and weather were excellent and we easily made friends with our host and other guests who arrived during our 10 day stay. We never got bored walking up and down the scenic beaches and hiking into Trancones. All locals were friendly and we never worried about security even walking on a dark beach lit only by the stars and the moon.

  Just returned to California after a wonderful 8 day stay at Casa Princesa del Mar. This cleverly designed house with its open floor plan is very comfortable with a stunning view in all directions. Amazingly, you feel like you are living in the jungle, yet it is only a very short walk down to a beautiful, uncrowded beach. In another few minutes you can walk along the beach to local restaurants, where they prepare the best and freshest seafood I have ever tasted. Every morning Reyna made a delicious breakfast to our liking: huevos rancheros, French toast, etc., with fresh local fruit. Reyna's husband Arturo took us out on his fishing boat. We fished (the fish practically jumped out of the water), surfed and swam off the boat. It was just delightful. Reyna and Arturo are both so friendly, as are all the other locals that we met in the charming village of Majahua. One day we arranged for a massage and pedicure at the house. Princesa del Mar is truly the perfect place for a peaceful and relaxing getaway. I highly recommend it and look forward to going back one day.

  My wife and I stayed her with two friends. We loved the house, bedrooms, kitchen, living room and grounds. The house was super comfortable and well built. It was incredibly serene and quiet with amazing views in all directions. We even saw whales from the living room and bathroom. Also, we enjoyed the short walk to the beach. Reyna was an outstanding cook, she prepared excellent dinners and it was great to wake up and have a delicious breakfast waiting for us. We also went fishing with Arturo and his son and had a great (and productive -- 8 fish!) time at sea. We would not hesitate to recommend this house to friends or anyone looking for a beautiful beach house, off the beaten path, but still with many comforts of a good home. Our only suggestions for improvement would be to equip the house with wireless internet. We ended up walking/driving up the street to get internet, but wireless in the house would have been more convenient. Overall, this house exceeded our expectations in every way and the owner was a pleasure to do business with.

  It's only natural that some property owners on sites like this indulge in a certain amount of hyperbole in marketing their property, or fail to mention any drawbacks it may have. But in this case, the write-up is 100% true - the house is exceptional, very private and very luxurious, and the pricing is extremely reasonable. I must have rented over well 100 holiday homes over the past 30 years, always at the "affordable" end of the market, and this is definitely the best I've ever stayed in. It was perfect for me as it is set apart from other homes, yet still handy to the local amenities. The "Present Moment Retreat" was a great choice for excellent food and free wifi. If you're looking for a peaceful and comfortable getaway you won't do better than this!
