Our family weekend getaway was superb! The house was everything and more! That weekend was intended to get family together and creat new memories. Since my mother is the sole of our family and a cancer survior; the family felt mother was in need of a special treat, way over due but never to late. That day we arrived felt like it was going to be one of many gatherings to come. Mother said it felt like home away from home. As we walked thru each room we felt warmth and charm flowing thru each room. Each room had its special touch; Italy combined with modern chic, laberated with Reinassance touch with hint of old and new country. The hot tub was a plus after a long day hiking and enjoying the outdoors. The river and park benches were pleasant when waking up and having breakfast by a running river. It just pump started your day with burst of max energy. The evenings we sat around the outdoor fire pit roasting marshmellows, hersey and gramcrackers. All the rooms were spacious and cozy enough to lay in bed if wanted too. My fave was the main level restroom. OMG...loved...loved the shower with glass wall and door. Truly, we thank you for allowing us to be part of your beautiful sweat home. We appsolutley recommond (IT'S A MUST!!!) to visit Oso Del Rio home in Ruidoso NM.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

My girlfriend and I rented the cabin for a weekend and it was wonderful! We stay in plenty of cabins during the year and this one had it all. A private hot tub right out side the the back doors, next to the river. We made smores and drank wine in the gazebo with a fire pit(next to the lil river) it was wonderful and romantic. We spent a couple of hours playing foozeball as well. The cabin is gorgeous and beautifully appointed with flat screen tv's in the living area and bedroom. Both rooms had electric fireplaces which really set the mood. The best thing was that this cabin was extremely clean! This place was close to everything, shopping and food and the Inn of the Mountain Gods was just a few minutes away. We go to Ruidoso a few times a year, and we will absolutely rent this place out again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thanks for the feed back and the gracious words. Come back and stay anytime. Arlene

Owner info
Year Purchased: 1985
About the owner: My name is Arlene Edwards. My parents built the house the year I was born in 1959. My father Alfred and mother Cidelia raised 8 children in this house, with 1 bathroom --just imagine. I purchased the house after my mother died in 1985. She was 46 years old. I bought the house and finished raising my 5 younger brothers and 2 daughters in this same home. This house holds lots of wonderful memories and brought lots of joy to our family. We still celebrate our Christmas together in this home, with as many as 5 christmas trees, more food than can be eaten and sometimes as many as 100 people. No, we don't have a sit down dinner but we do play lots of musical chairs thoughout the night. If you get up you basically loose your seat. We totally enjoy our time together as we watch the younger children attack Santa when he comes in the door. So we continue to make special memories year after year. We hope that you, your families and your friends enjoy this house as much as we have through the years. We also hope that you find peace and relaxation and hurry back to spend time at Rio Del Oso our special home in beautiful Ruidoso NM.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
