Our family has stayed here both in winter and summer. The furnishing are nothing fancy but quite comfy. We feel that we can relax as we would at home. Soaking in the claw foot tub is an extra treat. We cook most of our meals and find the kitchen to be well appointed although we had a little trouble finding enough large pots for cooking pasta and corn on the cob at the same time. The local grocery is right around the corner. We go out for a meal occasionally and have found the variety of restaurants in town has increased lately as well. Breakfast at the Cornerstone Bakery is a must! We like to do day outings and retreat to this homey place. We don't ski but do like to play in the snow which we can do by driving a few minutes. In warm weather there are plenty of local hikes. Can't beat the price. We will be back.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

The Shasta area has so much to offer and I found this bungalow a wonderful base for many adventures, from climbing Shasta to snowboarding on Shasta to checking out area towns and trails. The bungalow is easy to find and very well maintained. Staying in Dunsmuir allowed us to enjoy the town's tasty restaurants and cruise the shops. Different seasons offer different activities and different scenery; we've enjoyed adventuring out from the Dunsmuir bungalow in Winter, Summer and Autumn. If you're looking for a clean, laid back place to stay in the Shasta area, I'd recommend this place without reservations. Enjoy!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
