Nearest U-Bahn 7 minutes walk to Orienenburgertur

This Historical street, known locally as 'Gallery Mile', houses numerous contemporary art galleries and is a hub for the important Berlin Biennale and the annual Gallery Weekend. Auguststrasse and it's surrounding streets have numerous trendy restaurants, cafes and small shops.. It is walking distance, over the river Spree, to the Museum Island and to Friederichstrasse and Oranienburgerstrasse, two of Berlins's most important shopping streets. Nearby is Spandauer Vorstadt, the largest and best preserved historical area of Berlin, and the popular tourist area of Hackerschemarkt, leading to Alexander Platz.
The five museums that comprise Berlin’s famous Museum Island are the Neues Museum, the Pergamon Museum, the Old Museum (Altes Museum), The Bode Museum and the Old National Gallery (Alte Nationalgalerie). The island was devised as a cultural center around 1841 and although nearly 70% of the buildings were destroyed during World War II, thanks to a recent reconstruction and re-modernization program all five museums have been restored
Local contemporary art galleries include, KW Institute for Contemporary Art (Auguststraße 69), Haunch of Venison (Heidestr. 46), Galerie Neugerriemschneider (Lininstrasse155), The Collectors Room (Augustr. 68), and Hamburger Bahnhof Museum (Invalidenenstrasse 50-51). Other important local attractions include the restored New Berlin Synagogue (Oranienburgerstrasse 28-30), the Museum for Communication (Leipziger Straße 15), the Postfurampt/photography Gallery (corner Oranienburgerstr. and Tucholskystr.) and to be appreciated for it's neoclassical charm, Stadtbad Mitte (Gartenstr.5) which offers excellent swimming facilities.

A magnificent, spacious and luxurious apartment wonderfully located in Berlin mitte. We had a wonderful stay with our two children (toddler and baby). Terrific cafes meters away from our doorstep. Equally close is the Oranienburger strasse S bahn station. All the major attractions are either a short walk away or conveniently accessible by public transport. Marcus was terrific - Thankyou for all your prompt communication and assistance. We would highly recommend this apartment.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers, people with disabilities, age 55+, sightseeing.

Not knowing anything about Berlin, but planning to spend a week to explore the city this summer, I embarked on a search for an apartment that two couples could share. My search yielded this wonderful, modern spacious apartment in what we discovered to be one of the most interesting neighborhoods of the city. While the photos online were promising, upon arrival we found a brand new building filled with every convenience that met all of our needs and exceeded our expectations. What a treat to find a kitchen that was fully equipped. Not only did we enjoy breakfasts daily, but we prepared full dinners twice and found nothing lacking whether for preparing or serving meals. The living areas were comfortable, the bedrooms were private and quiet and the baths were fine. But the location of the apartment turned out to be even better than the apartment itself. It is centrally located making it easy to reach many of the museums and attractions by walking. And the subway is only steps away from the front door and very easy to use. Within a few blocks you will find numerous reasonably priced and interesting restaurants and cafes, along with shops, markets and galleries. During the week we came to love Berlin, and have nothing but pleasant memories of the apartment. The apartment manager was very friendly when he greeted us and provided the keys. And he was very helpful in giving us our bearings and providing directions to various sites and markets. We will return to Berlin and to this wonderful apartment, hopefully many times.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, age 55+, sightseeing.

This apartment offers everything that anyone could want. It is clean and well furnished with everything that one needs to be comfortable. It is centrally located and two minutes from the S-bahn, five from the U-bahn. That makes it easy to get to any location in Berlin. The area is quiet with good restaurants close by whether you turn right or left from the front door. If we get back to Berlin we wouldn't think of staying anyplace else.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing.

What a wonderful home! We went to celebrate my aunt's 70th birthday and had a group randing from 4 years old to 70...this was the perfect place to stay! It is spacious, beautiful, clean and well furnished...just as pictured! Marcus and Caroline were a dream to work with...they provided a lot of local information and answered all of our questions. The area is great with a lot of delicious bakerys and resturants very close by and an easy walk to central Berlin and public transportation. Loved this home and would definitely recommend it to anyone and we hope stay here again someday!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers, people with disabilities, age 55+, sightseeing.

Our stay at this home was perfect in every way. It is located in a very central part of the former East Berlin, with cute shops, cafes, and restaurants within a few steps from the door. The rental agent, Marcus, was so helpful with every aspect of our visit. He described the apartment perfectly, gave suggestions for how to reach the apartment from the train station, and he even gave us a quick overview of the places to visit in the city. His advice was spot on. The apartment itself is modern with 3 bedrooms and 2 baths (one full bath, one half bath). There is a full completely equipped kitchen as well as a comfortable living room/dining room combination. There is a lot of light and great windows. There is easy access with an elevator. The shower was easily accessible (no step up) for my 82 year old father who has limited mobility. The apartment was very clean and well maintained. We felt like we were residents in the city, rather than tourists. We loved the apartment so much we all have thoughts of returning again soon. Highly recommended.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers, people with disabilities, age 55+, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you Lyn We are very happy that you enjoyed the apartment and your time in Berlin. I agree that one does feel very much like a local resident as the apartment and the surroundings are very relaxed and comfortable and all is within easy reach. Of course you are very welcome to come and stay again any time in the future. Regards Vanda

We stayed in the flat for a week in March with our two teenage daughters. Each got their own room, which was a plus! The owner's descriptions of the flat and of the neighborhood are 100% accurate. It was a pleasure to come back after each busy day and be able to relax in what did feel like "our home". We were pleased with neighborhood, especially that it was both quiet AND vibrant. And safe, and central. No complaints at all. We'd stay there again and enthusiastically recommend it.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing.

The apartment is situated in a vibrant, artsy section of Berlin. The area has a sense of community and is fun to wander about in. Easy walking access to central Berlin. Underground stop is very close. The apartment is spacious, attractive, and well outfitted. The kitchen had everything we needed. Everything in the apartment worked perfectly: appliances, washer/dryer, WIFI, TV, heating, windows. The caretaker staff were especially helpful. They both had great advice on nearby restaurants, transportation, and tourism suggestions. Couldn't have asked for more. The owner communications were prompt and pleasant. Don't let the 18 page contract scare you off. All the money handling worked just as expected. For a nice stay in Berlin, I don't know what more I could have asked for. We had a great time.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, people with disabilities, age 55+, sightseeing.

Beautiful flat in fantastic location. Extremely clean, spacious, warm and comfortable. A perfect stay in a wonderful city. The Sbahn and ubahn stations are close by but if you are planning to use public transport from the airport you should know it is a little onerous with luggage as you will have to switch trains at two stations. There is a pretty good cafe/bar downstairs and their service is beyond excellent. There is also a bakery about 1/2 block away and a grocery market about two blocks away so it is very convenient to find food. Several other restaurants are within a two block radius. Marcus was also helpful with answering all of our questions. I highly recommend this flat to anyone wanting to have a wonderful memory of their stay in Berlin.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing.
