We came in from Florida for my daughter's wedding in downtown Austin. This place made our travel was such a pleasure ~my two teenagers even raved about how nice this place is and how they liked it much better than a hotel. The house is very Austin-esque. I loved the eclectic decor and the location to downtown and great places to eat was absolutely perfect. When we visit again, we'll be right back here! Thank you, Jennifer, for such a pleasant experience.

My husband and I stayed in Jennifer's lovely home for 3 nights over Easter weekend and had a fantastic weekend. Jennifer's home is adorable, comfortable, and has a classy but eclectic Austin vibe. The landscaping in the front yard we especially loved - we spent every morning in the breakfast nook in the back, and every evening out on the front porch sipping local brews and enjoying the neighborhood. Our dog loved the backyard and spent lots of time lounging out there. The bed in the master bedroom is incredibly comfortable (hard to get out of!) and the house is quiet and in a cute, friendly neighborhood. There is a full kitchen with dishes, glasses, and cookware. The best part -- we didn't have to drive anywhere and walked to Manor Rd. every day to eat/drink/be merry. There are lots of local eateries and bars, stores, etc less than 5 minutes walking distance and Jennifer provided an awesome list of thing to do in her neighborhood, many of which we did - like eating a fantastic meal and both El Chile and East Side Cafe and enjoying drinks with friends at Thunderbird Coffee and Butterfly Bar. We went downtown one night and the cab fare was only $12 (which is how much it is to park downtown). Definitely a great location! She also provided information on lots of events and festivals going on in Austin while we were there, which I thought was really above and beyond. She offered for us to stay as long as we wanted on Sunday as well. We were sad to go, and can't wait to come back soon! Thanks Jennifer!

We had such a wonderful time staying here! We live in Austin for several years and then moved, so when we came back for a visit we wanted to find a great place on the Eastside, and this was it!! Perfect size, clean, lovely decor, gorgeous wood floors, dog-friendly (YAY!), kid-friendly (double yay!), great location (loved being around the corner to in.gredients and super close to Eastside Cafe, plus close to downtown!)... all around just awesome. The owner greeted us on the first night and stayed in close contact throughout our stay in case any repairs needed to be done or anything needed to be tended to in general. She is super nice! I'd definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for a great neighborhood feel in a fun location on their trip to Austin.

We had just moved to town and wanted to get acquainted with the east side. It's well worth it. Very cool area and lots to see and do. Lots of hip bars and great restaurants nearby. After talking to Jennifer we knew she would be a great host, and was. The place was as advertised, and the yard was great as we have 2 dogs. Very quiet and peaceful neighborhood, yet close to everything. Thanks for making our transition to Austin easy. We would highly recommend your home.

My family and I recently stayed here while surprising my daughter for her birthday! Fantastic location - perfectly situated just outside of downtown (5 min cab ride). The beds were comfortable - furnishings were lovely and the keurig was a nice touch. Only wish we could have stayed longer. Jennifer is a fantastic host. Def be back again!

We found this home away from home to be ideal for our stay in Austin. We are partial since this home is in our old neighborhood (we relocated out of state a few years ago). Jennifer made the process super easy despite our evolving travel plans. The house was clean and welcoming, the beds were comfy and it had all the amenities we needed to be comfortable and then some. This is a tall order given that we have a toddler. The neighbors were quiet and the area is filled with convenient places for food, dry cleaning, coffee, etc. I have no complaints or suggestions for improvement. I was compelled to write a review due to such a good experience, but I hope this place is available when we visit again!!

Overall, this is a great place to stay in Austin and I would stay again. The house is in a great neighborhood, so many fun things to do on the Eastside (we enjoyed El Chilito & the Salty Sow), but there's also easy access to downtown (without dealing with downtown traffic/parking). The house is comfortably decorated, clean, and spacious. There were 4 of us and we didn't feel crowded at all. Jennifer was helpful and easy to work with - we were able to arrive and leave when we wanted and she sent us an informative email about the neighborhood which was great. Pros: location, cute, nice yard, easy parking, spacious, clean, value Cons: the shower needs some work, there was no water pressure - half the water came out of the faucet and half came out of the shower head, so that wasn't so great. Also the sheets were a bit stiff/itchy (probably new & just need to be washed a few more times). I would stay here again.

Owner response: Thanks for the feedback! We'll get a plumber out to the house asap to work on the shower, and throw the sheets in the wash for a couple of cycles.

About the owner: I moved to Austin with my family when I was in high school, left for college in Minnesota, a year in Brazil, and work in Los Angeles before coming back to put down roots in Texas. This house was my home for 10 years, and when our family grew we loved the neighborhood too much to go farther than a few blocks away!

Why the Owner Chose Other Austin Properties:
When I moved back to Austin I knew I wanted to live in a central neighborhood with interesting neighbors and fun things to do close by. Cherrywood fit the bill, and has only gotten better in the last several years with new restaurants opening and the unique new In.gredients grocery store around the corner. It's the first zero waste packaging-free store in the country, and of course it's in Austin! This house is within a 20 minute walk, 10 minute bike ride, or 10 minute bus ride to the UT campus and nearby hospitals. It's also blocks from I-35, which means downtown is minutes away and you can get anywhere quickly. The house is a comfortable retreat from work or whatever adventures bring you to Austin. It's on a quiet street filled with mellow neighbors and towering trees. The living area is filled with natural light, and there are sitting areas in the front and back yards.
