From the moment we turned into Weed Farms we all said to ourselves,"OK, NOW we're on vacation!". Sally's grounds/vineyard is amazing. With the views we had from the house, we didn't need to go anywhere else the whole week! But, we did... and how could we not, her location is in the middle of the best part of wine country — Dry Creek! The house is beautiful, and it has everything you need! We only dined out one night out of the 5 and did our best turning her kitchen upside down pretending we were chefs! SO much fun! Really — everything you would ever need for cooking & relaxing is right there. The pool is beautiful — it looked a bit small in the photos, but when we arrived we were pleasantly surprised! Lots of diving for footballs and cooling off during the hot days :) The long outdoor table for entertaining with lights strung above was one of our favorite parts. Great place to sit after dinner (we ate there too) and have a glass of wine! We took LOTS of pictures and will hopefully post a link to them here once we get the film back! Sally, THANK YOU!! We cannot wait to come back! :) Sincerely, The McCartneysDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We absolutely loved every single thing about this place. The owner's of this house really thought out every single thing a guest would need in a home to make it feel like home. We can't wait to stay here again this coming spring. Sally was a pure pleasure to work with on renting the house, and gave us some amazing chestnuts & flour!! Thank you so much!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

We had a wonderful stay at Dry Creek Farm in October. The house and grounds were infinitely more beautiful than the pictures lead us to believe. The house was immaculate and updated with top of the line appliances and furnishings. It was great for our group of 8 with a large seating area and dining table. The backyard and views were even better! And the location can't be beat. The property is among well-established wineries and close to the Dry Creek General Store which was a huge plus! The owner was wonderful to work with, even gave us great recommendations for restaurants and wineries to visit. When I come back to Healdsburg I won't stay anywhere else! This property is a true gem.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

The owner clearly loves her land, and has created a magical esthetic. The setting feels like "Out of Africa", with grand sweeps of California wine country below - rolling hills, grand vistas, vineyards and forests. Sunrises and sunsets both. The House: Sophisticated in a Rural Setting. I would invite my Fortune 100 CEO clients and colleagues here. The Kitchen: all and more than we needed, including paella! Children: expansive playground. When they exhausted the pool and hottub , we had 20 acres to explore.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Location
Owner info
About the owner: I am a fifth generation Northern Californian from the Central Valley. After living in Oakland and working in San Francisco for many years, I moved to the Dry Creek Valley in 2006 to devote my time to farming and crafting.
Why the Owner Chose Healdsburg:
This is a special place, nestled in a side canyon of the Dry Creek Valley. Grape creek, a seasonal stream that provides habitat for steelhead as well as many other aquatic creates and birds, runs through the benchland portion of the property. The house is nestled into the side of the hill where the oak woodland begins to transition to redwood, madrone, and douglas fir forest.
The Unique Benefits at this Farmhouse:
Great environment for walking, both on trails within fenced property (dogs can run safely off-leash!) and also in the immediate neighborhood. Four very nice wineries (Michel Schlumberger, Mounts, Quivira, and A. Raffanelli) are within easy walking distance (but do call ahead to confirm hours and also to make an apointment if needed). A nice longer walk (just under two miles) gets you to the Dry Creek General Store (and the adjacent awesome local bar where EVERYONE is welcome!) where you can pick up snacks, picnic food/sandwiches, cold and hot beverages. Open for morning coffee at 6:30am! If you bring or rent bicycles, the options are awesome, too. Take a spin up to Lake Sonoma and there is a nice climb up into the Rockpile AVA. Another great trip is over Canyon Road into Geyserville for lunch at Diavola. The cycling options are truly as diverse as your dining options in Healdsburg! I am happy to make recommendations about local restaurants and day trips as well. When you are here, you will feel like you are truly Out in the Country but you can be on the freeway in six minutes from my front gate and you can get to the Healdsburg Plaza (the beautiful tree-encircled town square...music all summer on Tuesday nights) in twelve minutes. I love living in Healdsburg, and I know you will love it too!
