This is a well-respected, trout stream and the location will find you well away from the daily grind without sacrificing comfort. The house is on the other side of the creek from the access road thereby offering further solitude. Its remote enough to allow undisturbed exploration and peaceful relaxation: a real find.
This is truly an area for the enjoyment of nature. Joyce Kilmer-Slickrock Wilderness Area boasts of over 60 miles of hiking trails within 14,000 acres. Trout fishing is some of the best in the state with numerous cold water streams near by. Lake Santeetlah, within five miles, has bass, walleye, and other species within its 2800 acres and offers the boater an outlet too.
The Cherohala Skyway is a limited-access highway extending 43 miles between Robbinsville and Tellico, Tennessee and follows the ridge-tops for breathtaking, undisturbed scenery. Whitewater rafting and kayaking are available in the Nantahala Gorge (not far) with several outfitters for novice through expert. Great Smoky Mountain National Park is just up the road as is Harrah's Casino at Cherokee.
If none of this appeals to you, then you can just kick back, relax, and enjoy your surroundings. We will not bother you. We are proud of our corner of the state and encourage you to come take a look to see what you have been missing.
