Offers amazing mountain views and plenty of open space (both inside and out). The property is quite private and is ideal for a quiet weekend away or a ski weekend with family. We drove to Jay Peak (about 30-40 min away and visible from the deck) during our stay and had a wonderful time skiing during the day and relaxing back at the cabin at night. The kitchen is well laid out with plenty of counter space and includes a gas grill/range, a convection oven, dishwasher and fridge w/ ice-maker. There was also a coffee maker as well as a coffee grinder. The bedrooms were large and the heat was warm. There is even a crib located in one of the bedrooms should you have need for one. A four-wheel drive vehicle is HIGHLY recommended as the driveway is quite long and was very icy. Overall we had a very nice stay and would definitely recommend this property to our friends. The owner, Anne, was also a pleasure to do business with.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

This new home is situated up high--the 180 degree view of mountains and surrounding farmland is spectacular! Sunset watching doesn't get any better than this! The house is extremely comfortable and well-appointed. It has good open space. I highly recommend this home away from home. The surrounding towns and area have plenty for people of all ages to enjoy. There are concerts and farmers' markets, swimming and boating. There is good eating with an emphasis on local and seasonal foods.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers, people with disabilities.

We have stayed at this house 3 times in the last 5 years during the winter. We loved the view and serenity of the place. The house is very well equipped to cook your own meals. The free wi-fi this winter was a favorite for our daughter and her friend. We really enjoyed our stay,Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2001
About the owner: I am a children's therapist in Silver Spring, MD and Washington, DC. I spend part of July and August at the Vermont property.
Why the Owner Chose Greensboro:
I have been staying at the property upon which the new home is located since it was purchased by family in the 1950's. I have enjoyed summers in the area since childhood. The new house is located on a hilltop with ideal vistas of the Green Mountains of Vermont, with views from Jay Peak to Mount Mansfield.
The Unique Benefits at this Chateau / Country House:
I enjoy access to local markets for fruits and vegetables, for dinners and preserves. In addition, shopping at very unique local country stores always has surprises. There are a variety of outdoor activities offered by the setting and nearby communities. With my hobbies of gardening, reading and knitting, I value my summer retreats in this home. I enjoy the walking and hiking trails in the area, and also have many friendships in the community. We like to host family reunions with spectacular sunsets and mountain views.
