There’s no time like SNOW time or SUMMERtime in the mountains! Plan to say goodbye to a mountain of paperwork and hello to a mountain of fun at Durango Mountain Resort located in Durango, CO. When you’re done playing in the snow or summer fun, come inside and enjoy our condo located in Cascade Village. Your one bedroom condo is well appointed and waiting on your arrival, with all of the comforts of a home away from home in mind.
The kitchen is well stocked with your cooking essentials along with extras such as gourmet coffees purchased from a local specialty shop. The dining room has a large window welcoming an abundance of natural sunlight, as we are an end unit. A chandelier of deer antlers hangs above the dining table adding a touch of outdoor whimsy while the antique skis on the wall remind you of year’s gone bye. The leather sofa offers a perfect place to relax after a long day of outdoor fun. Watch a movie sitting fireside (wood provided) on the large flat screen TV, or grab a hot drink and curl up on one of the overstuffed cozy chairs with a good book. You won’t want to wake from your restful nights sleep on the new king size bed. An abundance of plush towels are waiting to wrap you after a long hot soak in your jetted tub. The oversized shower and his and her sinks will help get you out the door just in time to catch the shuttle to DMR!
DMR is one mile south of Cascade Village. With the shuttle arriving every 30 minutes, there is no need to spend your time loading, unloading and parking! The shuttle will take you directly to the heart of the action at DMR. There are snowy hills for sledding, scenic ski slopes and miles of woodland trails for cross-country skiing or high-stepping with snowshoes. There are snowmobile rental companies ready to take you on a high mountain quest! Before heading back to your condo, don’t forget après ski! Take a seat at the base, grab a warm winter libation and take in the adventurers as they come down off the slopes – people watching at its best!
For the summer months, the possibilities are truly endless. Biking, hiking, canoeing, rafting, tubing, jeeping, ATV's, Ziplining or just simply taking in the beauty during a relaxing walk.
The town of Durango offers much to do – much to see – and much to EAT! This laid back western town offers the most simple to the most sophisticated activities. One of our favorite places is McPherson Chapel at Fort Lewis College, it is so peaceful and the views are amazing. If you enjoy picture taking, be sure to ride the Durango Silverton Train up the mountains for a spectacular display of photography opportunities during any season. You won’t be disappointed after a short drive to visit Mesa Verde National Park for the day; the park is full of history and local culture. If you are looking for exceptional food, our favorite place is Ken and Sues located on Main Street downtown Durango. You can’t leave without trying their spring rolls – YUM! Each time we are faced with our last day in Durango, we wish we could have visited one more site, eaten at one more newfound restaurant or just simply that we had one more day within this tranquil piece of God’s creation. Durango, Colorado certainly is a place for the adventurous but one too for those just looking to make quiet life-long memories in the mountains.

My husband and I, along with our two boys, truly enjoyed our time in this lovely condo. The owners were very pleasant to deal with, and we found the condo furnished for a very comfortable stay. It was obvious that there was thoughtfulness in putting the furnishings together, and everything was up-to-date. We would definitely recommend this property.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway, age 55+.

This condo is beautifully furnished and so accommodating for your vacation. The decor is so cozy and warm, it creates a great escape from the bustling world. Our kids loved stretching out by the fire and watching a great selection of family movies. I highly recommend this condo for your small family or a couple looking to get-away and reconnect. It was refreshing. The owners are pleasant and so helpful, it was an easy process! I know we will be back again!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway, age 55+.

This is a very clean, nicely furnished and well maintained unit located midway between Durango and Silverton. The photos represented do not do it justice! The kitchen has most everything you would need for a quick cook out on the shared grill at the lodge or for preparing a gourmet meal. The bedroom was a good size with a very comfortable king sized bed outfitted with designer linens. As we are from Texas and not used to the drier climate, we were grateful to see that there was a humidifier provided. The owners have truly thought of every detail and we did not want for anything. We throughly enjoyed our stay and hope to be back soon!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: It was a pleasure getting to know you and we look forward to meeting you one day! Thank you for your kind words.

We stayed here for 4 nights (2 adults, 1 teen) and this is a VERY well kept property. Even though its probably not that large in square feet, the furniture and decor are so well suited that it feels much bigger. We really liked the view from the living room and balcony in this end unit- all snow and trees! Being on the end also made loading and unloading the car alot easier. Comfortable leather furniture, great king bed w memory foam. The included inflatable mattress for the foldout was a nice touch. Kitchen was stocked with newer dishes, utensils etc. not just the usual mishmash found in some rentals. Big screen TV, Wifi and local phone def a plus. This is a very tastefully maintained home- hope to come back!!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, families with young children, age 55+.

Our experience in condo # 332283 was very good. It was very clean and the owners were very nice and helpful. We rented our ski equipment from Lee at Cascade Village and it was a hassle-free experience. Even though it was Spring Break week, the Village was very quiet. It was also conveniently located only 1 mile past the DMR. We actually took the shuttle 2 of the 3 days due to the large crowds at the resort and the lack of parking space. The shuttle only ran every hour, so it was very crowded, but it was much better than parking and walking. We had a very good time.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, age 55+.

About the owner: We are the Neikirks, from Southern Illinois. We are professional business owners with offices in IL, IN and MO. We are very active in our local church - more specifically, we are Co-Community Lay Directors for our local Great Banquet movement. We love spending time together, particularly traveling. We hope you enjoy your stay in our little piece of heaven! Blessings.
Why the Owner Chose Cascade Village:
WE LOVE COLORADO! Our passion for Colorado started when we began our life together by honeymooning in Vail. We have dreamed of owning a vacation home in Colorado for many years now. When looking at what Durango has to offer long term - with or without snow - it was obvious this was the spot. While Cascade is just 1 mile and a short shuttle ride from DMR, it provides a quiet less hectic retreat. Cascade Village offers all of the extras including a more relaxed and private atmosphere.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
There is always skiing, snowmobiling, hunting and hiking.... but our favorite thing to do is just hang out fireside. I love to cook, so I plan for a big pot of soup with extras that we can heat up whenever the mood strikes! There is always work to do on our laptops - with the view it doesn't even seem like work! The wireless internet provides, easy internet access. We also very much enjoy hopping in the truck and venturing out....so much FUN!
