This is a beautiful, new, clean, well equipped 2 story home with a gorgeous, mesmerizing view of the Sea of Cortez from the front porch and the 2nd floor bedroom and veranda, and a 2 minute walk to the beach. My wife and I have been coming to Mexico for 30 years and we have stayed in several homes where barking dogs, heavy traffic, music, and roosters have made it difficult to sleep but this is a quiet, safe, and restful home and a wonderful, friendly area to spend some time in. If you are looking for solitude, the yard is completely enclosed and gated but you can still see the ocean and watch the locals go by. We spent many days just reading and watching the ocean from the front porch. We also loved exploring the beach and the town, and found many wonderful places to see and visit near this home. An example was a quiet, circular, open air bar down the beach at what is called "The Spa." The mexican gentlemen attending the bar each day were warm and gracious, the beer was ice cold, and the view so beautiful that we returned several times during our stay just to sit and marvel at the ocean and the beach, and the murals and fish hung on the walls. Very "old Mexico." For people interested in wildlife, you never know what you might see out in the ocean, but from the front porch we watched Hooded Orioles, a type of Flicker that I believe is called a Gilded or Crested Flicker?, and a family of Cactus Wrens all week, and occasionally a donkey or a cow would wander by to see if any flowers were hanging over the fence. I caught and released a Striped Marlin, and saw what I would have guessed to be about a 100 lb Tuna caught and on the beach. Lots of good restaurants, the fishing is world class, the locals are wonderful, and the house comes fully equipped with everything you might need. We would absolutely stay there again, and would highly recommend this home to anyone.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We did a lot of research on houses in the area and are use to finding our vacation rentals through VRBO, so we know how it works. We found Vista Paloma to be all it was advertised and more. You just need to bring yourselves and some clothes! The house was totally equipped and supplied with all your beach and vacation necessities. The area was quiet and peaceful. Most days we had the beach to ourselves. David, the caretaker was helpful, charming and a perfect host. We slept with the windows open upstairs in order to feel/hear the night sounds- wind, wild burros, dogs and roosters. It wasn't obnoxious, just peaceful and calming. The location was great- Buena Vista is a residential sleepy and quaint town. Los Barilles is close enough for dining and picking up supplies.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

The house was exactly has shown in the photo's. The yards, house, and equipment were meticulous and ready for immediate occupation. The view was nothing short of spectacular. The house was located so close to anything that was wanted or needed for our kind of vacation. It was quiet and safe. We snorkeled, fished- caught 2 yellow tail and caught & released 3 Marlin all in the same day fishing, played on the beach and in the water, went sight seeing and enjoyed the towns. Motor-vated on the ATV's and it was such a treat and the means in which many locals got around. The grounds keeper was available for any questions we had, and person who is recommended to hire for driving, drove us any where we wanted to go and was so incredibly amiable. There is a binder at the house with spa's, fishing, diving or just about any type of activity one could wish to do. Along with a guest book with many suggestions of where to eat and what to see. We loved the quiet, low key days, where we enjoyed the culture, food and sea and the simple serenity of the town. We just simply can't say enough positive things about this vacation. I am planning my next visit to Casa Wills at this time. Staying here was one of the best gifts we have given ourselves and family!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

The house was everything we hoped it would be. We arrived on a Thursday and settled in. We were met by the caretaker David shortly after our arrival. He had everything ready for us. The Quads were parked outside gassed up to go. The house itself was clean and ready for us. The beds were cushy, warm and comfortable. The kitchen was stocked with everything we would need to cook our meals--(for those few occasions which we did cook); including spices and storage containers for our leftovers.. Anyone looking for reasonable priced accommodations close to stores, restaurants, and everything recreational on the East Cape, this house should be on your radar when you make your travel plans. We were not dissappointed at all. Who really needs maid service anyway? Short of being one who insists on luxury, there is no reason to look anywhere else for a nice place to hang out on your vaction other than right here at Casa Wills.Liz and Jim have the house set up for both themselves and guests and it is clear that they thought of everything one might need when making guests welcome and made sure there was an adequate supply of consumables on hand e.g. toilet paper, paper towels, soap, shampoo, ziplock baggies etc. This little home is nicely located and in proximity to anything you have planned to do.For example, we fished with the crew of the Jen Wren accross the street from Casa Wills, we rode the quads everywhere. The girls sunbathed at home and on the beach, snorkeled, and read their books. We even took a day trip to the Pacific side to Todos Santos, a tourist destination and home to the famous Hotel California. We enjoyed our lunch and shopping trip there. La Paz is only an hour away as well. We didnt go this time but perhaps next. We stayed nine days, our departure was on a day when another party was to arrive. We were able to clean up after ourselves in short order and made it easy on the caretaker to get things all shined back up for the new arrivals in nothing flat. We have little criticism to offer, the only thing that comes to mind is the use of the telephone...it is a different system than we use here stateside...I could have used a little tutorial...but really is that something that should have been provided by the host? (probably not). All in all this is one of those recommendations that sounds a lot like "Try it You'll Like it!" ...we really think anyone who stays here will find it comfortable, quiet, secure, affordable, and most of all fun.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

We went with our 8 and 6 year olds, and it was really relaxing and lots of fun. The beach across the street is beautiful and the sea was great for my kids to swim and play. In March, the weather was 78-84 everyday - really warm and sunny. Eduardo was great for taking to/from the airport, and we loved taking quads to town or the pool. Las Palmas Hotel in town lets you use their pool and buy drinks/food in addition to the Buena Vista Spa. Both are great pools and easy to get too. My kids loved our tour with Vista Sea Sports - we saw lots of rays and a ton of dolphins. The only surprise was the cost of the ATVs - might want to check out Quad man online first. They are the less expensive of the 2 places, and for a family of 4 needing 2 quads, I would think a car would be cheaper. That said, my kids loved the ATVs and they were lots of fun. Overall, it's a great place with no crowds and still lots of fun activites. People are friendly and helpful, and I felt very safe there. I'd love to go back again sometime.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Casa Wills is the best vacation spot for all ages! It's the perfect place to sit back and relax! Eduardo provided transportation to and from the airport and also a day trip to Cabo San Lucas. We recommend Eduardo for your transportation needs. Quads were perfect for those daily trips in to town as well as for just a fun ride on the beach and through town. We ate at many delicious taco stands- El Viejo, El Mariscos as well as Smokey's and Ochoa Pollos. The quesadillas and hamburgers are delicious at El Viejo! A couple of nights the group picked up "perro calientes" (hot dogs) from the Hot dog stand in Buena Vista. Bacon wrapped and delicious! The weather was perfect even with a little wind. We walked to the beach in the morning and caught some rays. We had the beach almost all to ourselves and the sand so clean. The girls did a beautiful hike/walk up Table Mountain for wonderful views, while the boys went fishing for Derado. The catch of the day made delicious homemade fish tacos!! We also went kayaking and saw all sorts of colorful fish. The water is so clear. Casa Wills is perfect and very comfortable! We had 3 generations (total of 9) and all had the best sleep and time! We ate in and dined out, enjoyed the view of the Sea of Cortez, and relaxed. Can't wait to come back!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

My husband and I stayed at Casa Wills in April of 2010, and it was by far our favorite vacation. The house was spacious, beautiful, and met all our needs with a nice big kitchen, washer and dryer, water filtration system, beautiful views, and perfect location. The area is rich with adventure, the fishing in the Sea of Cortez was amazing. My husband caught a marlin, and we saw many sailfish and sword fish, along with whales, dolphins and rays. We went snorkeling, took quad rides into the hills to see the small ag villages, and great views of the sea from up high. At the house the owners have a binder of ideas, activities, day trips, hikes, restaurants, and places that might be of importance/interest to travelers. We would just look through the book and decide what to do each day and we were never disappointed. The food was fantastic, there are good grocery stores in Buena Vista, and Los Barriles, but the food in the restaurants was so tasty and affordable, we ended up eating out as much as we could. Our favorites were the gourmet pizzas at Otra Vez, chicken from Ochoas, and shrimp tacos at the palm frond covered restaurant on the highway next to the nursery. After a long day of adventure or just relaxing on the beach across the street, we would end up sitting on the balcony each night (sometimes most of the day was spent on the balcony as well) and watching the fish and manta rays jumping in the sea. It was paradise. Casa Wills was the perfect place for our vacation, close to, but out of the way of Cabo, in the friendly town of Buena Vista, and with Los Barriles around the corner. We felt safe, and had the assistance of David who takes care of the property, and Eduardo who shuttled us from the airport. Our vacation was both relaxing and full of adventure, and we can't wait to return.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Our group of three couples recently stayed at Casa Wills. The home and its location is absolutely perfect . . the beach is directly across the street and you will see few, if any people, on it. We rented quads and explored the area . . . we went snorkeling, shopped in the local shops, ate at several great restaurants and relaxed by the pools of a couple of resorts. My favorite tacos were at a stand directly across the street from the market! We loved the slow pace and the local people were all so friendly. With all the news reports about Mexico, we never felt uneasy or worried about safety. Jim and Liz were very helpful. They referred us to Eduardo who provided transportation to/from the airport. And David, a local, checked in with us often and answered questions and made sure we had everything we needed. By far one of my favorite/most relaxing vacations. We will definitely plan a return trip!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

My wife and I are more-less new comers when it comes to traveling Baja. We have traveled the entire Peninsula about 3 times now staying in a lot of towns and remote areas. Buena Vista and Los Barrilles are great towns, small town feel with everything you need, always felt safe. I've stayed at the house 3 different times now and have had nothing but great experiences. I have yet to see all of the surrounding area, but enjoy all of the options in the area. If you are into great fishing ( caught 15 dorado, sail fish and marlin the last trip out), Kiting in the winter or just relaxing this house is in a perfect spot. Only about a 300 yard walk to the beach, which you almost always have to yourself. Great views of the Sea of Cortez and Table Top mountain. The house has everything you need with lots of room for 3 couples and is very relaxing. Jim and Liz were very helpful and David the local, made sure we had everything we needed. Thanks CFGRecommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
