You can't get closer to the ocean than with The Boat House! Constructed on the location of an old boat house, this is a beautiful 2 bedroom home literally over the water.
The in-town location is a quick walk to restaurants, bars, dive shops, internet cafes and beaches. Wrap-around deck and stairs leading into the sea make this a perfect retreat for swimming, taking dips throughout the day or just lounging on your dock or deck. Enjoy a cocktail while watching a perfect Utila sunset. You can even catch dinner from your dock.
If you want to have the convenience of in-town Utila while still living on the water this is Utila's best location.

My husband and two daughters stayed at the Boat House Dec. 23rd - Dec. 26th. 2011. The house was clean and comfortable. We had a kitchen but didn't need to use it to cook (it had everything we needed if we did need to cook) as we enjoyed all of the restaurants that are within walking distance. We did enjoy our morning coffee on the front porch and the view of the waterfront was pleasant and peaceful. We enjoyed watching the dive classes that go on just next door at the Dive House. The front porch was where we spent nearly all of our time when we were not our exploring the town of Utila! It was nice to sit and read and then take a nice dip in the water, the dock has a ladder for easy access in and out of the water! Vicki and Jim were wonderful hosts! They were friendly and had lots of suggestions for great places to eat and ways to get around. Camilla's Bakery was a nice place for morning coffee and breakfast, the vegetarian quiche is delicious and it was nice to have homemade breads. The banana cake is also very good. We had great meals at all of the restaurants. TJs Barbeque just behind the Boat House, Munchies on Christmas Eve and on Christmas Day we had a wonderful 4 course dinner made by Kate from Italy at her restaurant La Piccola. The Mermaid was a great place for ice cream or a light lunch, also an indian food restaurant just across the street from La Piccola was good. We liked that we could walk everywhere. Unfortunately because of the holiday, the museum was not open nor was The Iguana Research Center. We did enjoy exploring the beautiful mosaic Jade Seahorse! We would definitely stay there again should we return to Utila!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We throughly enjoyed our stay at The Boat House. Immaculately clean, quiet, sea breezes, stunning sunsets and views of the harbor. The hammock on the deck was a big hit, The house is located within easy walking distance of town. The hosts, Vicki and Jim are terrific people, helpful and accommodating.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, adventure seekers.

The Boat House is Beautiful. I plan on going back to utila and I will stay no other place. My friend lives down there and suggested we stay there. He was right. In the morning you can walk right to the end of your own dock and dive into the water for a swim, and return to the staircase to get out. The Sunset's there are also awesome. When we arrived Jim and Vicki had some cold beers waiting for us which was nice after a long trip to get there from portland. The pictures don't do this place justice, It is really nice, and in walking distance to everything. I am counting down the days till my finances let me return.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
