Chincoteague townhome description
Located on the Assateague Channel, this is your chance to watch the ponies from your own deck. A wonderful panoramic view awaits you...to the left is the Assateague Bridge; right of the bridge is the Assateague Lighthouse and ponies; and to the far right is Tom's Cove, the sand dunes of Assateague Island, and the ocean inlet.
Come and fish from your own lighted dock and tie your boat along side for you have deep water even at the lowest tide.
When the mercury drops, enjoy the evenings beside your wood fireplace.

Year Purchased: 1995
About: We are teachers and avid travelers with a variety of interests. We enjoy walking, birdwatching, photography, and exploring quaint little towns. We have traveled all around the country...from Maine to Florida; Pennsylvania to Califormia with stops in Illinois, Missouri, and Colorado; we have also toured Nova Scotia and Scotland, but we are always drawn to Chincoteague Island in the summer. We are avid supporters of THON, a Penn State charity devoted to curing pediatric cancer.
We have been traveling to Chincoteague Island for a long time and have finally settled on this spot called "Dockside." We chose it for its beautiful views, as well as being one of the few places on the island that provides deep water for docking your boat, even at low tide. The truth is that there is no single reason for our decision. It might be the smell of the salt marsh or the anticipation of the Blue Crabs crawling out of the Chincoteague Bay mud. Perhaps it is the steady blink, blink, blink of Assateague Lighthouse or the unbelievable variety of shorebirds that arrive in the fall, winter, and spring. For these reasons and more, our frequent visits to the island do not seem frequent enough.
The Unique Benefits at this Townhome:
Our incomplete list of benefits you can enjoy include the following: you can spend the day at the beach on Assateague Island; take your boat or rent one to go fishing or clamming; ride a bike to explore th island; walk the wildlife loop and other trails on Assateague Island; visit and climb the Assateague Lighthouse; take a kayak tour of the local waterways; play mini golf; find a decoy shop and talk with a local carver; go crabbing from your dock and then pick crabs on your back deck; fly a kite on the beach; go bird watching; take in a movie at the town's 1950's style theater; head out early and collect seashells; listen to local musicians at an open air restaurant while enjoying local seafood at the same time; photograph the local wildlife and scenery; all this and more and/or just relax!
