  Once again we loved racing north after our children finished final exams to relax in the peaceful comfort of this home. We were charmed by the gardens, the views and the open spaces indoors and out. We noted that many of the appliances were new this year and that the decor and furnishings are always fresh. Long walks, long bike rides, and beach trips were all easy and fun. We feel so fortunate to be able to relax and unwind at Sanktuary, and look forward to many future visits!

  We have just had another wonderful three weeks in July at "Sanktuary" and have returned rested and ready for work. In our 30 years of visiting Nantucket, this house is our favourite! The large master bedroom upstairs with its own modern bathroom offers privacy and quiet for grandparents, while the three bedrooms downstairs are perfect for our daughter, son-in-law and 2 children. We have always liked Nantucket for its many public beaches, and each day of this year's July trip, we were able to enjoy the waves and sand. Coming home at the end of each day was made easier by the excellent outdoor shower, which keeps the salt and sand outside - particularly important with children. While the kitchen is fully equipped for cooking, we often chose Sayle's for their fresh fish dinners, always eaten at the sturdy teak patio set on the lower deck. After the children were in bed, we could sit on the upper deck and watch the ocean in the distance and the Sankaty Lighthouse. Owner ensures that everything works and has an excellent housekeeper who cleans before our arrival and after we leave. She came twice during our stay to save me the effort of cleaning while on vacation. We highly recommend this modern and private home for all families who want a vacation without worry. Dr. Dickler is an enthusiastic and honest landlord and we would gladly return in the future to "Sanktuary".

  I keep repeating myself as this summer marks our 5th consecutive year at Howard's house, and everything was perfect as always. Again, we hope to be back next year to this very nice rental property. Howard [the owner] is very easy to deal with and makes renting this great house easy and efficient. Please see my other reviews for more details on this excellent rental property.

  Our family had a wonderful vacation in Nantucket this summer due in no small part to the house we rented from Howard called Sanktuary. The house is wonderfully located; it was so nice to visit town and then escape to the peace and quiet of a beautiful Tom Nevers neighborhood. We were very pleased with our rental experience and look forward to another Sanktuary vacation!

  We had a great time at Sanktuary and Howard has done a great job with his family's home and it was a fantastic vacation. We will hopefully be returning in the future. Our 7 month old started crawling when we were there, and had a great time on the back lawn.

  We have visited Nantucket for the past 30 years and “Sanktuary” is by far one of the best places we have ever rented. Large, clean, fully equipped and perfectly situated, we all enjoyed a much needed vacation. Howard has thought of everything, and the master suite with deck allowed us all a chance to sit and admire the setting sun and the ocean each evening. We plan to rent this wonderful home again when we return to our favorite island.

  This summer marks our 4th consecutive year at Howard's house, and everything was perfect as always. The new outdoor wood [eucalyptus] table, chairs, and rocker make both decks even more enjoyable. Other upgrades inside and out add to an already beautiful setting -- we hope to be back next year to this very nice rental property. Howard [the owner] is very easy to deal with and makes renting this great house easy and efficient.

  Our family has "grown up" at 13 Lyon's Lane / "Sanktuary" in the summer, and we love returning year after year! We enjoyed several lunches and one dinner outside at the new dining set outdoors! The landscaping as always is lovely, and the new tree in the front and new foundation plantings are beautiful. We arrived fresh from "final exams" and work stress, and by the end of the 2 weeks my youngest was painting and reading and not even checking facebook. :)

  Sanktuary (13 Lyons Lane) in Nantucket is just wonderful. Great location, beautifully maintained grounds and an incredible master suite. The multiple decks provide plenty of outdoor seating and we especially enjoyed the deck off the master suite with ocean views. Even though the home is in a neighborhood setting, we had a feeling of great privacy given the trees bordering the property. We highly recommend this beautiful home.

  "We returned again to Howard's house this summer because we had such a nice stay last year. Again, the house was meticulously maintained, very clean, and beautifully landscaped. It is always great to return to such a nice house after a day on the beach or in-town. We are already looking forward to returning here in 2010."
