We had planned a trip to Maui to surprise our daughter and new grandson. My husband has always wanted to go to Pearl Harbor to pay his respects, so we were fortunate to be able to stay a few days at your house. I have to tell you that we loved this house and the area better than even Maui,( and we stayed in a multi-million dollar gated estate). It feels more like Old Hawaii. We felt very safe in Laie, the kids walked to the shopping center and had gelato. The pictures do not do it justice. Having the beach in your backyard was wonderful beyond words. We snorkeled and swam, boogie boarded throughout the day. My husband and kids swam with a Sea Turtle one evening. We had the beach, virtually by ourselves. Never did we see more than 7 people. We loved every minute of our stay. The house had everything we could have needed. The grocery store nearby is very reasonable. Suffice it to say we hope to come back for a week next year! Maybe even sooner sans kids! Thank you Alice for being so helpful and kind. I almost forgot Chester the cat! He was a big hit with everyone and made us really feel at home.

Thank you for letting us stay at your home on the beach, We came for our daughters graduation and also a vacation,. Your home is fully equipped with everything we could need. My son & I went fishing and caught Mahi Mahi, and Ono which I bbq'd and it was terrific. Also your home gives us the North Shore experience & feeling of being on a island. The beach was like a private beach and never got crowded, My wife & I walked to the point at goat island and back, We also floated, snorkeled, body-board, and swam right in front your home, it was very relaxing, We really enjoyed our stay and wished we didn't have to leave, Mahalo.

Thank you so much for a wonderful stay on “Oahu”. Your house is the best. I felt so at home and I don’t want to go home. I love the ocean and it being at the back door. I loved feeding the fish outside the house. I will miss them. The little lizards - I haven’t seen anything I didn’t like. God outdid himself when he made Hawaii. The people here are so friendly. We will surely miss it.Enjoyed every second. Wonderful.

Your place is just so homey, would stay here forever if we could. (We will be back) My brother and I brought our Mom here for her birthday. So much to do and see. Sharks Cove is a lot of fun & is a must. 20 minutes from here (worth it!) We were lucky to be here in October so we got to go to the Polynesian Cultural Center where the Lagoon Canoe Ride was turned into the Haunted Lagoon. A MUST! It was so cool! Nothing like sitting out with the ocean breeze & sounds to calm you down & relax you! If you want a fun trip, talk to the locals - they are wonderful & so nice! I love it here & we will be back! The Lizards are a lot of fun!! Memphis, TN

Thank you so much for the use of your beach house - it was fantastic! We loved how quiet and serene it was being tucked away in the corner, next to the point. Thank you! Letting us use your home was huge! Driving back and forth to Honolulu was an adventure! Seeing all the local towns and people was the highlight of our stay! Downtown, Pearl Harbor and Diamond Head were fun but Haleiwa is where our memories were born this trip. Dole’s Maze and ice cream came in 2nd Place.Your home was our BEST memory! We loved staying on your home, and on the North Shore. The best parts of Oahu are outside of Honolulu! Your home was so well supplied which is such a nice touch versus others where we even had to buy toilet paper. Thanks for letting us live the Hawaii beach experience close up. John & Wanda

Our stay here was GREAT, I hope we were neat. Someday "soon" I hope we will meet! Your home is so cozy It became our home, too. But the 14 days, It seemed they just flew. Saw Haleiwa first Just to Browse the street, Matsumoto's shave-ice Is always a treat. Hiked Diamond Head fast Took an hour and 10 . . . When we come back We'll do it again. Pali Lookout & Puchbowl Bring tears to my eyes Seiing theose places Makes my spirit rise. Honolulu & Waikiki can Stay where they are, My greatest enjoyment Is to see a falling star. The privacy here, was Much to our liking - Other than Diamond Head We did no other hiking. We saw Waimanalo before it got late, Best deal there Was the $5 Plate. Long beach walks, falling asleep to the sound of the surf - we are going home refreshed and relaxed. If you see a black and white duck, we named him Ernie and he loves cooked rice! Aloha!

I just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our stay in your beach cottage. We had previously been to Oahu and stayed on Waikiki Beach in one of the high-rise hotels. The hustle and bustle of the city and the crowds were overwhelming and not at all what I had thought Hawaii would be like. I was very disillusioned. I wasn't sure that I ever wanted to return. Then when we found your house for rent on the internet I became excited to return. Your home was perfect - from the decor to the location to all the amenities included. We were there only 4 short days, but they were some of the best 4 days I have ever spent on a vacation. I loved the quiet neighborhood, the secluded beach, the set-up of the house and even the cat who adopted us while we were there. We were thrilled to have the boogie boards and snorkeling equipment provided, too. We are already planning our return trip next year. Thank you for providing such a wonderful, affordable accommodation for travelers who want to get away from the city to relax and enjoy the "real" Hawaii. Mahalo,

When we were lookng for a vacation spot for our honeymoon we wnated a nice clean place on the beach in a secluded area. That is exactly what we got with your wonderful North Shore Retreat. This has been our fourth trip to the Islands, and definitely the best so far. An exquisite setting and a comfortable house made it a wonderful week for us. We loved the winds, the bright blue water, the turtles, the hiking, and the peace and quiet most of all.

We enjoyed a wonderful peaceful family vacation here: it truly is a "North Shore Retreat". The beach, the space, the amenities, the location, were all "just right" for us. We visited PCC, hiked through the Audubon Centre at Waimea Falls, watched a surfing contest at Banzai Pipeline, and relaxed "at home". Thanks for letting us share your place.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 25th Wedding anniversary at your place. The bed was very comfortab lr and the roar of the ocean lulled us to sleep each night. The beach was awesome & beautiful & so peaceful and uncrowded. After spending two days in Honolulu, we decided this was the best location on the island. Eloise was a great help as well.

Great stay. Great beach! Especially enjoyed the walks on the beach in the AM. The Polynesian Cultural Center was worth the $$ for the meal and the entertainment. The waves on Sunday were some of the biggest we had ever seen on either ocean. Little Elaina could not wait to find "Sparky" every morning to give him a biscut and had to say good night to him every evening. Hope we can return someday.

We can't think of any other place we would of wanted to spend Christmas '04, celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary & bring in 2005! Your accomodations had the comfort of any home yet still reminded us that we were on our tropical get-away we've been planning and talking about for years. Your decor has inspired us to bring back some ideas for our place on the "mainland". The locals made us feel welcome, especially "Sparky" - we'll actually miss the ole boy with his countless visits. Mahalo! This is the first time we have stayed in a place other than the Marriott Resorts, and we had no idea what we were missing. What a pure joy it has been to stay in your home. We were so much more relaxed. Everything ws so clean & the decor was wonderful. We love that you left treats for "Sparky". It was great to walk to the Temple and be so close to the Polynesian Cultural Center. I loved waking up and being able to walk on the beach in my PJ's. We will be back!

Friendly is the best way to describe this home - from the greeting by Eloise, to the well stocked kitchen, to the music selection and the well planned outdoor area. We certainly enjoyed it all and will carry home many memories of relaxing days re-charging ourselves here on the North Shore. Thank you for sharing your home with us for this fabulous week! If we had imagined a perfect beach house to spend it in, this would be it. Nicely furnished - well stocked - everything we needed was here except our own groceries and the good times we had here. The sea turtles visited nearly every day - we swam 30 feet from them! "Sparky" (the neighbor dog) and the tilapia helped us with the leftovers every day. My e-mail pictures to friends on the mianland will surely add to the waiting list for your beautiful home. The worst part of staying here is having to eventually pack up and leave. Thank You and God Bless You! Aloha!

Our stay on the North Shore was relaxing and enjoyable. Your retreat was one of the main reasons. Our oldest son celebrated his 3rd birthday here. We picked up some marinated beef, pork, chicken and short ribs from the Superette just up the street - delicious! The grill pit and the tiki torches gave it the feel of a Hawaiian Luau. The same 3-year old also enjoyed "Sparky" and the tilapia. The adults loved the peaceful serenity of this area of the beach. Thanks for keeping the house so well stocked with conveniences. We had a great time. My wife wants to go to Whistler next, so you may hear from us soon!

We had an incredible 25th Wedding Anniversary trip to Hawaii! Your beach house was the highlight of the vacation. We brought our two children and a friend, and there was plenty of room for five of us. Tropical Storm Darby came one night but was gone by Noon the next day. The snorkeling was so good right out front here, that we really didn't need to go to Hanauma Bay. My kids really got a kick out of feeding the fish and "Sparky" every morning. The best thing is that you are at the end of the beach. We really enjoyed the seclusion. We'll be in touch for our next trip.

What a wonderful stay we had! My daughter & son-in-law made coconut bread with one of your coconuts. We had the pleasure of having a monk seal visit just beyond the ocean lillies on the beach and saw 2 sea turtles. Feeding the Talapia was so fun. We were visited daily by the neighbor dog, "Sparky", our beach companion. Thank you for letting us use your home, it is beautiful.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was very clean and well-stocked. The beach is wonderful and not crowded. One very nice aspect is that Laie is a very nice, clean, and quiet town, much safer than many others. This house is perfect for families. Thanks for a great vacation.
