I can only second everything that has already been written. There were 7 of us that stayed for 2 nights. Dragonview was completely stocked with everything that we needed. We cooked all but one at the house. Our one meal out was at Cafe Roka you got to try it if you have time. The town is fun but staying here really made it special. Thank you Bonnie for thinking of everything.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

The home was perfection! It was so well equipt with all the necessities and more. The view from the home and the relaxing hot tub was a bonus. Our party of four enjoyed our relaxing time there. Our favorite restaurant was Roka for italian food and the mine tour was a must. We also all enjoyed our play time with Rosie the property pooch. We will be recommending this great home to our family and friends. Thanks Bonnie! We will be back!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners.
Owner response: Glad you enjoyed yourself so much, and thank you for taking the time to write a review. Really appreciate that and I look forward to your next visit. It was a pleasure meeting you and your guests.

The Dragonview Retreat is the best vacation rental I have ever. It was warm (it was 20 degrees outside), clean, bright, and had all the amenities we needed to enjoy a weekend of relaxation with friends. A total of 6 people stayed at the retreat. The house was very comfortable for all guests. I look forward to coming back soon! P.S. I loved that we could bring our dog.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thanks for your review! I felt bad that you booked during our unusual cold snap, so I'm glad to know you had a great time anyway. You and your guests are welcome back anytime!

We originally visited the Dragonview in Bisbee with our children and parents 13 months ago. We enjoyed it so much, we chose it again for a "date trip" for just the two of us. The house was just as delightful as we remembered, and it was great to visit again. This time, we had an opportunity to enjoy the hot tub under the stars (with snow on the ground!). Great trip; fantastic rental home. We plan to return in the future.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

Seven of us came to Bisbee to celebrate the New Year and it was a lovely experience. It snowed and we were able to sit in the hot tub looking at snow covered hills and an abundance of stars I haven't been that relaxed in a long time. The house was warm and comfortable and the fire place was charming. Bonnie even put up a Christmas tree for the holidays. We couldn't have been happier. On our first night, we walked downtown to get dinner and drinks. Bisbee offeres a lot of options, but my favorite bar was in the lobby of the Copper Queen Hotel. The best meal we had was at Table. I also recommend taking the time to visit the town's antique stores. The second night we stayed in and cooked. The kitchen was extremely well stocked and we had a good meal seated around a table with friends. I only wish we could have spent more time at there. Bonnie was exceedingly accommodating and helpful. Because of the snow they met us at the bottom of the hill to make sure that we made it up to the house. There was a lot of attention paid to detail and as a result we felt wholeheartedly welcomed. There were mints on the pillows of the very comfortable beds. I can't say enough nice things about this place and our experience there, so I will end by stating that I hope to go back.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Can't thank you enough for the detailed and thoughtful review! Snow events in Bisbee are rare, and it usually melts off the roads by noon. This time even the City was caught by surprise and consequently didn't get by to sand the steep corner. Neighbors all helped to hand shovel and salt that area, which is part of why I love Bisbee! Some kids made a 6' tall snowball downtown that was featured on the Tucson news. Certainly a memorable trip for you all!

My husband and I recently spent five nights at Dragonview. It is an excellent location for exploring Bisbee and nearby attractions. Bonnie's extensive knowledge of Bisbee history, art, architecture, music and dining enhanced immeasurably our exploration of historic Bisbee. In Sierra Vista we greatly enjoyed the Interpretive River Walk of the San Pedro River led by Friends of the San Pedro River. The house itself is delightful. Spacious, comfortable, well appointed and equipped, it is an ideal home away from home. Views from both inside and outside of the house are lovely. I especially treasured watching the sun light up the valley at dawn, the beauty of twinkling lights at dusk, followed by the glory stars overhead at night.Owner response: We so enjoyed your visit too, especially the hike along Old Bisbee's best mountain trail from the Dragonview house to the end of Brewery Gulch (actually Zacatecas Canyon) and then enjoying the afternoon of our local Buzz and the Soul Senders' music downtown. I hope other visitors will take that hike with or without us, so they can see Bisbee from above. Thanks for taking the time to post a review, it is really appreciated.

We had a wonderful family vacation! Bonnie was very helpful but only as needed. Bisbee is a wonderful town to explore. We've been twice and can't wait to get back. Dragonview is definitely at the top of our list of places to stay in Bisbee. The beds were extremely comfortable. My mom even wrote down exactly what brands, etc, everything was. We'll see if see can duplicate it! We would absolutely recommend Dragonview!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thanks so much for writing your review and especially for pointing out that you found the beds so comfortable. I really hope you'll come back soon!

Very well appointed. Best of all, it is within walking distance of town. The house was a great base for exploring Southeastern AZ - a wonderful to place to retreat to after a full day of activites. Beyond our wilddest imagination. Booked a year in advance for our daughter's wedding, very spacious living, very well appointed. Kitchen totally equipped - we hosted the reherrsal dinner - 30 guests - what a delightfully entertaining local - close to town - loved the views - closet to die for - if you have a crowd, this is the house to rent - it has everything - lush towels, comfortable beds, spacious living - certainly made a statement amougst the newly formed family members and their guests and made what could have been a hectic wedding schedule a relaxed and serene event. Thanks Bonnie - best of luck in coming years. We hope to return to Bisbee again, the town has sure grown and improved - loved all the shoppes and sightsRecommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

Our family enjoyed staying at this lovely home for a small reunion. My dad was born & raised in Bisbee so this was a special trip for all of us. While the stairs were a bit of a challenge for my mom, the house was very comfortable, the views amazing, the evening beautiful. While the house is off the beaten path it's quite easy to get to town. The house is equipped well & the beds are super comfortable. Bonnie the owner was there to greet us & left us a lot of info concerning the area. If we return to this area we would definitely stay here again.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you for the nice review, I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. I hope your dad enjoyed his trip down memory lane. I was quite a bit younger when I purchased the property, and of course stairs were no problem then! As you know, the town is full of them, all part of the charm of Bisbee. However, I am working on establishing an alternate route around the back of the property, which hopefully will make the place more accessible to the elderly or anyone who has difficulty with stairs. Hope you come back sometime to see the progess!

We recently spent four nights at the Dragonview Retreat while in Bisbee for our son's wedding at a local B&B. There were six of us staying at the house, and we all fell in love with the house, the yard, the location, and all of the extra amenities offered. It was a hectic, busy weekend, and we were involved with preparing some of the food for the wedding, as well as decorating 200 cupcakes and a small wedding cake. The kitchen was absolutely beautiful with lots of counterspace, excellent lighting, and plenty of dishes, pots and pans, and kitchen gadgets for any gourmet cook! The beds were very comfortable, and the bedding exceptionally nice quality. The owners have obviously spent a great amount of time selecting the artwork, furniture, and decor for the house. Our only regret was that we did not have more time to spend actually relaxing and enjoying the property, but we hope to return for that on another visit to BIsbee!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Always happy to share this well loved house to travellers who appreciate the charm of Bisbee and the Dragonview! Thanks for your review!

We try to do an Arizona trip every year. This year we hit southern AZ. Thankfully we found the Dragonsview Retreat on vrbo!!! We have 4 adults and 2 kids and have plenty of room to spare. I'm writing my review sitting on the gorgeous patio enjoying a fantastic view of Bisbee below. The house itself is charming and full of so many details. Stuff most rental house never have- free wifi, plenty of towels, cable channels and a wonderful kitchen. The house is walking distance to old town Bisbee. So far we've been to Katchner Caverns, Tombstone, local wineries and Patagonia Lake. Great location, great owner, great vacation. Highly recommend this property.Recommended for: Girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Just far enough away from downtown but sstill close enough. For those of you who lilke walking, it is IDEAL! 15 - 20 minutes and you;ve walked into the heart of downtown. Circle K a few steps away for quick needs. Now the house: absolutely beautiful in side and out. My wife and I and our dog loved the yard which is surprisingly private and quiet for Bisbee. Bonnie has done a great job of providing a house that truly makes you feel at home. Not only will we return (it was the fourth property we stayed at ovr the years) but if she ever decides to sell it, I'd want to buy it! Keep up the good work Bonnie :) John and Danielle (from Phoenix, AZ)Recommended for: Families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Our family stayed at the Dragon View Retreat for a week and had a blast! Never having been to Bisbee we wanted to have a "home base" to return to after exploring the area. This house was roomy, clean, well appointed and perfect! Our group included 2 adults and 5 kids (4 of which were teenagers) and the house fit us like a glove. The steps of Bisbee that take you to Old Bisbee are right out the door, the Queen Mine Tour was amazing, Tombstone was close by, and the charm of this area is so memorable. The bedrooms were comfortable, the kitchen was lovely, and the view was amazing! There is so much to see and do in the area but some days we were happy to just "hang out" at the house. The owner, Bonnie, was so easy to communicate with and gave us great directions for getting there. Thank you Bonnie for a great time! We'll be back!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car.
Owner response: Thanks for taking the time out of your busy schedule to let me know how much you enjoyed your stay, and especially that you would love to return! I really believe the Dragonview charms all who call it home!

What a great get-away the 8 of us(4 couples)had at Dragonview! The house was perfect for us with 4 bedrooms---all very comfortable beds--and sharing the 2 bathrooms was easy! We had our Happy Hour on the patio around the large wrought-iron table, enjoying the views and sunset. We played cards around the large dining table in the evening. We walked to shopping and dining each day & night----lots of stairs but well-lit and by the time we'd done them for 3 days, we felt like pros!! (We are all seniors and handled them well!). The drive in is a bit scary---best done during the day--but worth it for the reward at the end of the road! We'd return again for sure-thank you, Bonnie, for a great stay!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We just returned from a 8-night trip to Southeast Arizona where we spent the first 2 nights at the Dragonview. It was the highlight of our vacation...the relaxing atmosphere, extremely comfortable bed, well appointed accommodations. We managed to find time to sit and relax on the upstairs veranda, hike the trails behind the home, walk to downtown for a night out, watch the stars from the hot tub, listen to music on the Bose wave system, and take a few naps. This is just what we needed to start off our time away together. Thank you Bonnie and Murray (Rosie too) for a great weekend. We hope to return with family to share a little piece of paradise. Be sure to arrive in the daylight as I don't think it would be an easy drive in the dark if you haven't done it before, and bring your own shampoo/bathroom needs. The isolation was just what we were looking for.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We love this house! Four of us rented 2 bedrooms and had a wonderful time. We love the convenience to downtown Bisbee coupled with the quiet location of the house. The kitchen is stunning! The tv is huge, and the rooms nicely furnished with comfortable beds. The owners greeted us as when we arrived and said goodbye when we left. Otherwise, we were left in peace to enjoy the magnificent surroundings. We rented all four bedrooms for a weekend in Bisbee and Tombstone with our young kids and my parents. This takes the cake for the best non-hotel accommodations we've ever rented. It truly felt like a home. It was amazingly comfortable, from the living area to the bedrooms. The kitchen was the best-stocked of any rental property I've seen. The owner's personal touches and decorating only added to the comfortable atmosphere. Tucked into a Bisbee hillside, it had fantastic views. We were also pleasantly surprised by the toys tucked away in the closet -- our kids really enjoyed those. Would rent again in a heartbeat.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My girlfriend found this wonderful home for seven lifelong friends to stay in for three nights. We've stayed in 10 other homes together over the last ten years. We all agree this home is one of the best, if not the best we ever stayed in. We found the kitchen to include everything you'd need for a gourmet meal. The bathrooms are spacious for multiple females dressing at the same time. The rooms are designer decorated but are comfortable and cozy like you'd want a "home away from home to be." I would jump at the chance to rent this place again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

This was our second visit to the Dragonview. This time we brought our friends from California. Tom was there again to greet us. He is marvelous. The views from our windows are very tranquil. We enjoyed nights sitting outside looking at the stars and sharing a bottle of wine. During the day we would walk to the shops and explore the wonders of Bisbee. We rented the entire 4 bedroom home for my 30th birthday w/family and friends. The home is very well appointed, with high quality bedding, towels, robes in each room, and comfortable beds. It is obvious that Bonnie thought of all the details to make this house a home away from home for her guests. There are plenty of dishes and cookware, dishwasher and laundry detergent, coffee, spices, condiments- even dog treats if you bring your furry friend! When we weren't sleeping in our comfy beds, we were gathered in the huge kitchen with wraparound island, or relaxing on the expansive patios outside. We loved that each of the downstairs bedrooms have their own private access to the patios, and the upstairs bedroom/loft has a balcony- both with gorgeous views of the town! We loved that this home has Bisbee stair access- you can walk to downtown (only about 15 min). You should definitely eat at Cafe Roka, and grab coffee at Bisbee Coffee Company. I would recommend arriving before sunset on your first day, as the hillside road to the home is very narrow. Otherwise, meet up with Tom- the VERY nice caretaker- and he will help you out. We can't wait to go back again, our trip was so relaxing and enjoyable that we've decided to make Bisbee an annual destination!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: thanks for the great review! I agree with you, best to arrive in day light unless you are really used to Bisbee's historic mule trails, which were then turned to streets! Hope you have many blessings in the coming year .

Sadly, we are leaving this beautifully appointed home tomorrow. It has been our sightseeing base for a week. While it is a bit of a trek to some of the best vacation stops, it is definitely worth the extra drive. Also, it is an easy walk to Bisbee, a funky and fun town with good restaurants, antique stores, and art galleries. The house is very deceiving from the outside, but it is extremely spacious and comfortable for my husband and I plus three boys. There is room to spare. The kitchen has tons of counter, storage, and prep space plus utensils and cookware galore. (Another paring knife or two would be excellent.) The master bedroom is beyond roomy and stands alone upstairs...which is perfect for quiet times without "boy noise.". Both bathrooms are spacious with more than a week's worth of supplies. The hot tub is wonderful on the cool, usually windy, evenings for viewing the clear skies and countless stars. While there are washer and dryer here, try drying garments on the outside clothes line. They dry really fast and smell of the delicious mountain air. Be prepared for a somewhat steep descent to the house from a narrow (only wide enough for one car) potholed driveway and rock stairwell. And don't be discouraged by the long road to the house littered with abandoned cars, castoff construction debris, and other assorted detrius (standard Bisbee fare) because at the end of that road is a wonderful oasis that you'll love calling your own during your stay.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, sightseeing.
Owner response: Jane, thanks so much for your great review! Yes, Bisbee is definately on the "funky" and fun side of life, and pretty laid back. As for the potholes, that's the norm for this whole town too it seems, despite the last Mayor's campaign promises to fix our streets. (most of which were mule trails before cars were introduced here, hence the narrowness). All part of the charm? Helps keep speeds down too so people aren't driving over the cliffs. When the weather warms up a little more I'll be fixing the drive. I wish the City would enforce their code about junk cars and other debris around town. Always difficult to balance complaining with keeping neighbors friendly, especially when their "junk" is a treasure to them. We certainly don't have the manicured neighborhoods of the east around here. As you experienced, Bisbee is the center of a lot of attractions in this south east corner of the state, but it is the west, with those "wide open spaces" between them. Sure glad you loved the house and the stars!

We have just spent two weeks in the absolutely best place we've ever rented through V.R.B.O. This home has everything anyone would need for a once in a lifetime holiday experience. Without listing all the ameneties which can be found on the web site, my wife & I were also pleased with the spectacular view from Mule mountain, the unique little village at the bottom of the mountain & the variety of things to do within a few hours of our location. This beautiful home also has a concierge close by who is able to help any first timer to the area with whatever aid you require. Whether you need a hand with something or information about the area. Overall this could not have been a better situation for our first time in Arizona. We recommend it to anyone looking for either a restful vacation or one packed with things to do.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Our family rented this wonderful, cozy, and well appointed home for three nights in Feb. 2011. The asian accents were unique as well as the iron wrought work outside. Tom, the caretaker, greeted us warmly and professionally and got us settled in with no problems. Not only is great detail to one's comfort given, we noticed the kitchen was outfitted to the max!!! We did some cooking and everything was there. The hot tub was used nightly. The linens were abundant and high quality. The gas fireplace was the highlight of the living room and we used it every night. The views are peaceful and stunning. The extensive grounds provided privacy and lots of room for the kids. We felt so at home and did not want to leave! We will be back. So much better than a hotel! Exceeded our expectations. Hi Our family (6) stayed here for three nights. We have traveled extensively and this house had ALL the comforts of home. The attention to detail was impressive. We loved the asian decor/accents. We made use of the gas fireplace, completely outfitted kitchen, and luxurious linens. The hot tub was used every night and Tom the caretaker was both professional and helpful. The cozy touches thruout the house really made one feel at home and we are looking forward to our next visit. I would recommend this rental again and again. Very kid friendly and the kids toys tucked away in the closet were a treat. We didn't want to leave...............Thanks so much for the wonderful stay. Joyce and Jesse Hanz, Pittsburgh, Pa. The place has great views. In the daytime, the mountains are beautiful and at night the stars are clear and bright, especially when seen from the hot tub! The house is very comfortable and has everything one would ever need. It feels like a home. It is a short and interesting walk into town with a convenience store nearby. I am sure that I will visit it again soon.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

The Dragonview was Home Sweet Home from the time we brought our luggage onto the property. Tom was very friendly and helpful in introducing us to the house. We were able to take in views we had never admired in our growing up here. The hike and walks from the home was super. Even our dogs found their stay enjoyable. This property is very dog oriented so everyone can enjoy the vacation. We really enjoyed having flat parking and not to many steps to negotiate. Thank you for making our Christmas truely memorableRecommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Convenient and comfortable. The home was large and comfortable and has plenty of modern amenities. The location is convenient relative to the shops on Main Street. Its also very quiet, and one can see the stars at nigh and a great panoramic view by day. Easy access to hiking trails that go along the spine of the Mule Mountains. Overall probably the best place I've ever stayed. No complaints.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
