Perfect White Christmas!
Perfect White Christmas!
Our family (4 adults, 2 kids) from Australia rented this holiday home at the beginning of a 5 week road-trip through Colorado, Utah, Arizona and beyond, and this house almost spoilt us for the rest of the trip - it was THAT GOOD! The photos don't really do it justice, the home is just gorgeous. On the practical side of things, the kitchen was really well stocked and allowed us to easily cook up some fabulous Christmas treats, which was really important to us. The laundry was also great with a big washer and drier and lots of room to dry off wet boots, jackets etc. The layout of the house is perfect - a huge master suite with an amazing bathroom and huge robes (great for hiding Christmas presents)! My parents nabbed this room (don't know how) ;-) and we went upstairs to the other two very comfortable bedrooms with adjoining bathroom (brilliant design). The loft area upstairs was fabulous too - gave the kids their own space to do some gymnastics and play without being in the way! There was also lots of space to re-pack the suitcases after we doubled our luggage courtesy of a stop at the outlet mall in Denver! Coming from Australia it is difficult to pinpoint the best place to stay, but we really nailed it with this house. The Sol Vista ski area was perfect for our family - we are not skiers, but were keen to let the kids have a go (which they did, and loved), as well as enjoy local activities such as tubing and snow mobiling (which we did, and loved). The ski school at Sol Vista was outstanding, I really felt like the tutors got to know our girls and gave us some great feedback. The central location was also great for visiting Grand Lake (very quaint, would love to go back in summer) and the drive into Fraser was easy. This is not a negative, but something to be mindful of - there is no internet connection at the house and the TV plays DVDs only (no TV). We didn't realise that and had two very frustrated men trying to work out what was going wrong! A quick e-mail to Susan (at the Starbucks just down the road) sorted that one out and we just grabbed some DVDs to watch during our stay - perfect! Lastly, dealing with Susan was a real pleasure. She happily answered my many questions and wrote us a lovely e-mail after our stay thanking us for the way we had left the house - I can only say we treated the home like it deserved to be treated! This place is a gem, stop looking anywhere else.

Wonderful Stay- Excellent home, very comfortable
Wonderful Stay- Excellent home, very comfortable
My family stayed here in spring break March 2010. Beautifully decorated and very convenient location. The house was very clean and it had everything that we needed. The views were great and there was plenty of room for the kids to play outside after a day of skiing. The inside of the home is also very roomy and gives everyone plenty of room. The beds were comfortable and the living room was a perfect place to stretch out and take a nap while to kids played out side. 3 bed rooms + a loft with plenty of room for sleeping bags or a blow up bed if you need the extra room. I would recommend this place to others and I would definitely try to stay here next time we visit the area. The owners were very easy to contact and they made sure we had everything we needed. One of the best places that we have stayed in in the area.
