Quintessential Maine waterfront cottage
Quintessential Maine waterfront cottage
This was a comfortable Maine cottage right on the water. Always something to see from lobster boats to great views. Just steps away from the lobster pound (open weekends only in September). Handy to bring back a meal and eat it at the cottage. We had a 3 year old along and did have to keep close watch on him as the rocky cliffs outside the house are very steep and dangerous for little ones. Drinking water is not potable! So bring your own. We washed our dishes in the local water (rainwater from a cistern) and rinsed quickly in drinking water. No dishwasher so if you have a crowd this could be a problem. Downstairs sleeps plenty of people and master bedroom upstairs has a lovely view. Can't beat the location and proximity to Reid State Beach, Bath, Wiscasset. Great local produce stand just up the road with wine and other amenities, plus Georgetown market (closest jugs of drinking water). Large supermarket in Bath, but a bit of a drive at night. Stock up ahead of time.
