Upper Level
You'll have to climb a few stairs, but 'Oh, so worth it!' The views from the architecturally inspired spaces of living, dining, and kitchen, in the sky above the surrounding houses offers excellent Frying Pan River and Basalt Mountain views. You can even see the confluence of the Frying Pan and Roaring Fork Rivers from up here.
The mountains surrounding Basalt generate an energy, which is enhanced by the rivers flowing through the town. This energy manifests itself in the people too. Wonderful location. Beautiful town home with great views. Next to the Frying Pan river. Walk across the footbridge to all the shops and restaurants in Basalt. Rented other places in Basalt and this is my favorite. Can't say enough good things.Recommended for: Families with young children, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+.

Our family just spent 3 glorious nights in this immaculate Basalt townhome. It's location was perfect - we could walk to all the shops and restaurants. At night, we really enjoyed listening to the Frying Pan River from the balcony. The owners were even kind enough to install babygates for our small kids before our arrival. Would recommend renting this home to anyone looking to explore the Aspen/Roaring Fork Valley area.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway.

We had a great time during our stay. The property was exactly as represented, well-stocked with quality kitchen items, and within a short walk of everything in Old Basalt. The layout is very interesting, with the kitchen and family room on the third floor, which makes for nice views. Parking was easy with a full, private garage . I don't hesitate in recommending this property to others.Recommended for: Families with young children, romantic getaway.

About the owner: We are a family of four with two young daughters currently living in Mauritius, Africa for a few years.
Why the Owner Chose Basalt:
We originally bought the existing house in 2000, with plans to eventually build a duplex similar to the other two in the neighborhood. We began construction in 2006 and completed them in in 2007. Because we were building a rental unit and a primary residence, we spared no expense in finishes and quality of construction.
The Unique Benefits at this Townhome:
The building was built to be energy efficient; it scored 77 on the Home Energy Rating System (HERS) energy audit (23% more efficient than standard construction). Environmentally friendly materials include bamboo floors, zero VOC paint, PaperStone countertops (made of recycled newspaper), Hardie Board siding, blown cellulose insulation, energy efficient appliances, water heaters and furnaces. The landscaping was designed to be native and conserve water without and an abundance of grass.
