GREAT location and very comfortable. Yes the upstairs people were a little noisy now and then, but given location and CITY apt, not a problem. The owner is very responsive to questions. Easy access given Metro and Marais is my now my favorite neighborhood in Paris! Shopping at the grocery store and bakery around the corner eases the day to day living. I would go back to the VRBO. kitchen is well equipped, internet connection fast and easy. Nice bath and very quiet away from busy street. also easy walk to the Seine, notre dame, etc.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

This apartment has it's positives and its negatives. The positives are that it is extremely close to the metro and there are some good restaurants in the area. It is quiet from the street noise. The full-size refrigerator also was a plus. The bathroom was of adequate size, as was the apartment itself. The apartment was clean, but the upholstery on the furniture was quite soiled. The negatives, however, outweigh the positives, in my opinion. The noise from the apartment above is quite annoying and goes on until the wee hours of the morning. I listened to the vacuum cleaner at 2 am. Although close to the metro and restaurants, the apartment is not close to most of the things tourists enjoy. Also, if you have more than 2 people in your party and need to use the fold out bed, be sure to take sheets with you. There are none for it. The 13-year-old travelling with us had to sleep on it using a blanket as a sheet. A sofa was provided, but it also was covered with a blanket to hide the soiled covering. Without that blanket, I don't think I would have wanted to even sit there, let alone sleep. One set of 2 bath towels and 2 hand towels were provided. No wash cloths. So, if you need a wash cloth, be sure to pack one--- and an extra towel unless your 3rd person wants to use a hand towel as our 13-year-old had to do after her showers. The bed Is another matter. Having a queen is nice, but it was so hard I think I could have been as comfortable on a concrete slab.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

This is the 4th time we have stayed at this apartment. It is close to two major metro lines. 15 minute walk to the Louvre. Perfect Location. If you rent here explore the neighborhood. There is an excellent bakery right around the corner that has baguettes that usually are still warm, they are so fresh. There is an amazing cheese shop a couple of blocks away. Just a little slice of heaven! This apartment is in a great area and very safe. Larry Chen is so easy to deal with. He makes the entire process seamless. Book it and enjoy your trip!Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We enjoyed our two week's stay in your comfortable, spacious and well- equipped apartment. We felt very safe being inside a second courtyard, it was very quiet and we appreciated not having to climb stairs..The excellent location was perfect for exploring the Marais and beyond. With a major Metro station steps away, we were able to explore all of historic Paris. The boulangerie around the corner was our source of excellent croissants and baguettes; the MonoPrix supermarket was very convenient for all our food shopping. The nearby Le Bistro du Temple on 19 rue de Picards is a true Parisian experience: warm welcome, good food, reasonable price. Rue de Bretagne a few streets away, is a trendy area with many cafes and restaurants. Though written instructions are provided, we would have like having someone welcome us and explain use of the facilities - then we would immediately have noticed that the cable TV was not working and it did not become available during our stay. Stayed at rue Beranger apartment in the Marais for a week. The apartment was spotless and just as advertised. Very comfortable. The location was perfect - it was easy to walk everywhere and wonderful bakeries, shops, chocolate shops, restaurants and museums were close by. The owner was very professional and everything was just as he said it would be. If I return to Paris I would definitely stay here again. And the price was reasonable as well. Don't miss Jacques Genin chocolate shop a block away. Pramil bistro was also very good. And walk through Marche des Enfants Rouge. Would also recommend Musee Carnavelet. A little further away we also enjoyed Breizh crepes and Cafe des Musees.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My 14 year-old daughter and I spent 8 nights in this apartment this August. It was bigger than we expected, with tall ceilings, pretty crown moldings and some stained glass. Not fancy, but comfortable. We like older buildings, and the We had plenty of room. The kitchen was well-stocked, there were plenty of towels and linens. There was even a laptop and a wi-fi connection. The area was perfect, as the metro stop was seconds from the front door, and this particular stop was a hub for every connection to any metro line. We got to and from the airport for about $10 from our location. There is a supermarket and a zillion cafes nearby. We would rent this place again in a second. The owner was always responsive before and during our stay. Thanks! Thanks for making our vacation great. Staying in a flat instead of a hotel is the way to go.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

From the initial contact, the owner was very helpful and informative regarding this rental. Information was clear, timely and accurate. Thanks to additional information he provided, we were able to save $$ when a taxi quoted us a rate more than double than what we were expecting. The apartment was exactly as discribed and the location was excellent! A few minutes walk and you were right at the Metro. The shops and restaurants in the area were close and charming. I would most definitely recommend this property for anyone looking for an excellent stay in Paris.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Apartment was clean and in a good location. Plenty of room for two adults and a teenager. Easy access to the Metro. The noise upstairs was a little too much for our taste. During the day we arrived it seemed as though new flooring was being installed and the everyday living noise in the evening was louder than a hotel. However, we do understand it's an old building that may lack modern insulation. Communication with the owner was excellent. We found three restaurants in the area where the servers spoke English and the food was good: Buffalo Grill, Cafe Repulique, and Indiana Cafe. It was a very big help that there were electric outlet converters! If departing early in the morning, we'd recommend a cell phone with a light to replace keys as the courtyard was very dark. Thanks for the opportunity to enjoy Paris!!!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing.

This apartment is one of the best Paris rentals I've had over the past 20 years or so. It was immaculately clean, well furnished, comfortable. It has the best-equipped kitchen of those in any of a dozen or more countries where we've had self-catering holidays. The North American style bathroom is terrific. The location could hardly be better: it's within comfortable walking distance of the Marais and the Canal St. Martin, for example, and with 5 metro lines just around the corner one can reach any location in the city easily. Philippe, the concierge, is a very pleasant and helpful fellow. Although Monoprix is certainly not my favourite French supermarket, it's certainly convenient. It looks as if the market at Carreau du Temple is being totally renovated, so that will be good for future visitors. I'd go back in a trice and have already recommended this apartment to friends. The owner is helpful and very efficient.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children.

We had a wonderful time during our recent stay at 21 Beranger. The apartment was as advertised and had excellent lighting and a well furnished kitchen. Having a computer and washer/dryer on the premises is a great bonus. The courtyard was very quiet. The location was very quiet yet convenient with food stores and restaurants nearby. Two museums we recommend in the Marais are the Arts and Metier (history of inventions) and the Carnavalet (history of Paris). We took the train from CDG but found signage (or lack of) very confusing so we took a taxi on our return to the airport. Belatedly, we noticed a sign for the Rossy Bus that frequently goes from the airport terminal to the Opera subway stop for 10 euros (50+ for taxi). For anyone interested in a private tour of Paris, Philippe, the charming concierge, is a private tour guide. We found the French to be very helpful, going out of their way to help. Please note - some ticket machines would not accept our Visa card (like the one at the train in CDG) as European cards now have a special chip the US doesn’t have. Euros are accepted.Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

We just returned from a 2 week stay in Paris and Belgium. We stayed 11 of the 14 days at this apartment, followed by a weekend in Brugge and one night in a Paris hotel before returning home to the US. The last three nights in hotels really made us appreciate having the apartment for the majority of our stay, as it really made us feel like we were "living" in Paris, rather than just visiting! The apartment is in an ideal location - away from the major tourist spots (and therefore the crowds), but with the Republique metro stop just around the corner, it was extremely easy getting anywhere in Paris. We loved the neighborhood itself - plenty of cafes to choose from, grocery store and bakeris around the corner. There was also a BNP Paribas bank just across the street - so for anyone who use Bank of America, this is the French partner bank that won't charge any ATM fees or foreign transaction rates! It made it super convenient to just take out the cash we needed each day, without racking up any extra charges. As for the apartment itself, it was absolutely true to description and the photos. The apartment was clean and well-maintained. The bed was super comfortable, and the apartment was spacious so we had plenty of room to spread out and not feel like we were on top of each other the whole time (as is typical for most hotels and apartments in Paris - especially at this price!) It was great having a kitchen and washer/dryer. The one con that I would mention is that we heard the upstairs neighbors walking/running back and forth (sounds like there may be multiple kids) early in the morning each day, with a huge ruckus on Saturday - so if you are a light sleeper and like to sleep-in later in the mornings, bring earplugs! We got used to it and it didn't really bother us after the first day or two (when it was probably mostly jetlag that woke us up anyway). I'd highly recommend staying here, and if you do, some nearby places I'd recommend are the cafes on Rue Dupetit-Thouars (turn right out of the apt and another right at the next block. The next street you reach is it). It's lined with several great cafes. We tried almost all of them and weren't ever disappointed. Cafe Creme seemed really popular with the locals and was packed at lunch and dinner. We had our anniversary dinner at Pramil (9 Rue Vertbois) - they had very friendly waitstaff and an excellent 3-course menu for 30euro. Enjoy your Parisian adventure - we can't wait to go back!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

The location and the availablity of the Metro, resturants, bakeries, and shops make this an excellent choice of a place to call home in Paris. The secured doors and the courtyard make you feel very secure in such an urban setting. This apartment has a fantastic modern kitchen and spacious bathroom that you may not expect to find in Paris. We recently stayed here with our 16 year-old granddaughter and had a wonderful experience. Phillipe, the concierge, was more than helpful in giving us information and tips to navigate Paris like a local. Tip: turn right out of the main entrance doors on Rue Beranger and turn right at the first street and you will be surprised at the quaint neighborhood wine shops, restaurants, and lovely park. This would definitely be our choice again.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We stayed at this apartment for four nights while visiting our son in Paris in June. The apartment was clean and comfortable, the bathroom was very spacious for a European bathroom, and the kitchen well equipped. Since it is on the ground floor, it can be dark if the shutters are kept closed, however there is not that much activity in the courtyard, that they could not be kept open in the daytime, and the windows allowed good airflow. It was wonderful to get away from the street noise and as mentioned in the previous comment, the daytime noise was just typical noises you would expect. It was very convenient to the metro and centrally located. We did not get a chance to meet Philippe due to our schedule, but he was very pleasant when we were in contact. The owner was great about getting the information to us immediately and in returning the deposit. We would definitely recommend to friends and in fact had planned to book for next year, but it is already booked for our dates!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, tourists without a car.

We regret to report that the apartment was, in every way, the opposite of its description. It was dark, dingy and uncomfortable. The Salvation Army would have rejected the furniture. The bed was absolutely hard as a rock. The sleep sofa had a mattress so thin and worn that we had to pad it with some quilts; the bar pressed into one's back. Tho its location in a courtyard meant we did not hear street noise, instead it was like living inside a drum: the sounds from the other apartments reverberated magnified, and they started early and continued far into the evening. No fresh air circulated into the rooms because the shutters had to be kept shut, since the apartment was on the ground floor. The one feature to praise was Philippe, charming, intelligent, helpful and resourceful, who is the apartment's overseer and caretaker.Owner response: This comment is so off base that it does not deserve a response. Sufficed to say that we have rented this apartment since 2004 from people all over the world and everyone has raved about it.. Please take a look at the 70 some comments and see for yourself.

We can't believe that the negative reviewer stayed in the same apartment! We lived in this property for 4 weeks during March and April, 2011. It was our second stay because we enjoyed ourselves so much the first time. We have had extensive experience with rental apartments throughout Europe and have roomed in several top hotels in Paris. This property is in a fabulous safe location. There is a large grocery store, farmers market, many cafes, a laundromat, and easy public transportation within a 5 minute walk. Notre Dame and other major tourist areas are a mere 20 minute stroll away. Street noise is a common problem at most hotels in Paris but we slept in complete silence. Real Parisians live and work in the building so there was moderate daytime noise, but we were never disturbed. The posted photos are exactly accurate. The full kitchen and bathroom were immaculate and modern. The furnishings were not new, but completely comfortable. The internet access was perfect. There is no air conditioning, but we have stayed during a hot summer and a rainy spring and found that opening the windows and simply turning on the fan was all that was needed. Philippe is extremely helpful and introduces newcomers to the apartment and Paris with great wit and charm. We will stay again and have recommended this apartment to many friends and family members.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

A lovely apartment. It was exactly as shown in the ad, and we found the apartment very clean and well prepared when we arrived. The apartment has been renovated with a nice kitchen and bathroom. The bath has both a shower and separate tub with good pressure and extremely hot water. Rooms were good size and comfortable. The metro really is just around the corner as are many great shops including a supermarket. We walked everywhere - it is about 1 mile to the river and major attractions. It is a safe neighborhood, and folks were friendly. We did hear our neighbors occasionally, but only ordinary living sounds and at reasonable hours. The concierge was very helpful and prompt in contacting us to meet/review everything and ensure we were comfortable. The apartment was thoughtfully stocked - including blow dryer, laptop and even shampoo etc plus a well set-up kitchen for fixing meals. The queen size bed was comfortable, and extra blankets were available for cold nights. The owners were great to work with - quick to communicate in booking and they returned the deposit refund within 1 week. We definitely recommend this apartment and would here stay again.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My husband and I stayed at the apartment the middle of October - our first trip to Paris. The apartment was everything we wanted and more - just as described and met all the positive reviews. Just minutes away from the metro, around the corner to a huge grocery store, bakery on the corner - what more could you ask for. The modern bathroom, all amenities in the kitchen, a computer, confortable regular American size queen bed - and the pitter-patter of little feet from the two adorable little girls who live upstairs. The owner was very helpful with any \questions and responded promptly. And Phillippe was a great help - he went out of his way to help arrange a cab for us at 4:30AM for a very early flight home. We would highly recommend this apartment and are, even now, planning a return trip to Paris. This is where we will stay.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My husband and I just got back from a 7 night stay at the apartment (10/9 – 10/16). The apartment was great and is as represented on the web site. It is spacious and has all the comforts of home. I would definitely stay there again. It is in a great location and being so close to a metro hub (Republique) you can get to almost any other metro line and be in another area of Paris in minutes. The Marais area itself is wonderful, especially Rue des Rosiers and Rue Bretagne where there are many food shops, cafes and stores. The small Patisserie and Monoprix Store around the corner (left) from the apartment were convenient and offered great treats. Get a roasted chicken from one of the stores on Rue Bretagne and side dishes from the Patisserie and you’ll have a wonderful meal at your temporary Paris home. As for meals, the best meal we had was at a restaurant on Ile St. Louis called Aux anysetiers du Roy which is located on a corner at 61 Rue Saint-Louis en I’Isle. In fact it was so good we went there twice for dinner. The female chef greets you at the door. They serve traditional French cuisine. My husband had beef bourguignon and I had filet mignon and it was delicious. I am hungry just thinking about it! There is a gourmet restaurant close to the apartment on Rue Montmorency called Auberge Nicholas Flamel. It is in the oldest house in Paris. We went there for lunch and even lunch was a little pricey but it was very good food. If you want American type food and want to catch some sports, go to the Great Canadian Pub on the left bank facing the Seine close to Notre Dame. Enough about food…. There is so much to see and do in Paris that you won’t have time to see half of whatever you have planned. One of the things we did that we would do again was sign up for a Paris Greeter walk thru the Paris Greeter program, a way to discover Paris with a Parisian. The typical walk is 2 to 2.5 hours long and only includes up to 6, not counting the greeter. If you have a specific area in mind you can let them know when you sign up via the web site. Our greeter took us and one other couple on a walk near the Bastille area and it was very interesting and informative. He took us to inner courtyards and areas we would never know to go to ourselves. The interesting thing is he was born and raised in the Marais district so he gave us many suggestions of things to see and do there. No matter what you decide to do, you will be in Paris!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Three Golden Girls spent 2 weeks in this excellent apartment. It was just as presented in the listing. I especially appreciated the owner's payment terms and the fact that I paid in American $, no worry about fluctuating exchange rate. We felt very safe being in a second courtyard. Having the Metro so close was great too because we used our Metro pass every day. The computer in the apartment was also a plus so we could keep in contact with our families and uploaded some pictures. Phillipe the concierge was helpful and fun to talk too. We would defintely recommend this apartment and I hope to rent it again. You can never go to Paris too many times.Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

The location of this apartment was excellent. Many restaurants, a large supermarket and Post Office were all nearby. We could walk to all major attractions and the Metro if needed, was just around the corner. We found the apartment very comfortable, clean and everything was exactly as described on the site. Philippe was available if needed and a delight to meet. The only negative aspect of the apartment was that occasionally, early in the morning one could hear the young family above... I stayed here with my husband and our 14-year-old son in late July 2010 and can certainly recommend this accommodation for a small family or couple. The up-to-date fittings in the kitchen and bathroom are a real plus -- terrific to have a roomy shower AND bathtub, dishwasher, washer/dryer combination, and all the cooking utensils you could want. Location is very convenient, with numerous Metro lines at Place de la Republique, walking distance to the Marais with all its shops and restaurants, and convenient grocery shopping nearby. Also very quiet in the evenings inside the double courtyard, though some renovation in neighboring apartments during the day was a little disturbing while we recuperated from jet lag. (No doubt this work will be completed soon and the disturbances won't persist!) The owner was terrific to work with -- courteous and quick to respond to all questions and messages. Security deposit was returned extremely promptly. Can't really comment on the concierge service as we didn't need to make use of Philippe's expertise. Only downsides: Ground floor situation means that opening the windows fully means sacrificing some privacy, and there's really no natural light unless you're willing to let people see in as well as allowing yourselves to look out (though no one really passes by within the second courtyard, so this is a minor point). Also, if you have someone sleeping on the fold-down bed in the living room, he or she will need to walk through the bedroom to get to the bathroom -- a disturbance in the middle of the night for anyone sleeping in the bedroom. Would certainly stay here again.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, sightseeing.

The Republique metro station makes travel fast and convenient. Phillipe was a charming host. We didn't require much in the way of concierge services, but knowing that he was available to answer questions was very reassuring. We enjoyed the quietness of the double courtyard, and the residential nature of the building. Although there are two businesses across from the apartment, we were gone most of each day so we never considered this to be a negative. The amount of literature in the apartment, both novels and travel information, was impressive. There are more restaurants in the area than we could have gone to in a year, let alone a week, but several we enjoyed were Soprano on Rue Dupetit-Thouars, just a few blocks away. We had two dinners there, and both the pizza and the pasta were delicious. We also enjoyed the Cafe des Musees on Rue de Turenne, about a mile south of the apartment; Le Barometrique on Rue Charlot; and Chez Omar (no credit cards!) on Rue de Bretagne. The Monoprix has everything you could need in the way of food, wine, and household products, and the bakery around the corner on Rue du Temple had wonderful croissants. Be sure to visit the beautiful Place des Vosges and the Carnavalet Museum. The Picasso Museum is closed for renovation, but we had fortunately visited it on a previous trip to Paris. I would recommend this apartment to anyone who wants a quiet, comfortable home base in a real Paris neighborhood.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We arrived in Paris dead tired after an overnight flight from Boston. After gathering our luggage and navigating the Metro, we arrived at the apartment about 9-10 am to find it unready for occupancy and not cleaned. Inexplicably,it was not made ready until 8 pm that evening. Throughout the day, we walked about, killing time and waited till someone appeared to do what our agreement promised. Needless to say we were exhausted. Quite frankly,if we hadn't paid in advance we would have left and taken a hotel room. After this unsatisfactory experience and in fairness, the apartment was as promised after that. But, candidly, this experience so colored our feeling that the week was less than it should have been. Not recommended.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 3/3

My husband and I stayed in this great apartment in the fall of 2009. It was larger than I had expected and very functional, yet quite attractive. Being on the ground floor and close to the metro was important to us and 21 rue Beranger was the perfect solution. Knowing Paris quite well, I did not want to reside in a typical tourist area and we really liked the Place de la Republique quartier very much. It offers shops, entertainment, cafes, restaurants, etc. We felt this to be a real find and would happily return one day.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 3/3

We are a 60s-something couple who love Europe and apartment stays. Apartments provide the freedom from hotel stays and certainly much more room than in rooms costing three or four times more. We cannot exhaust the culture, restaurants, history, and people in a 2 week stay as we had in Paris in December 2011. This flat in Paris, near Place de la Republique is fantastic!! It is stunningly clean and bright, with very high ceilings which adds to the sense of spaciousness. The kitchen is the best equipped we have found in our over 25 European rentals. The furnishings are of a home, not a la hotel, which adds to the comfort and the bed quite good, which oft times at rentals we have found lacking. The location also is superb with all the necessities of living nearby. The metro at P. Republique has 4 or 5 lines running through it so it makes it quite easy to get quickly to destinations in Paris. The heat (in winter) was more than adequate. There are many guide books available in the living room. The dedicated PC laptop was functional but the wireless did not work for us beyond the bedroom. There was also a land-line telephone provided. The apartment is most secure, located beyond a key-coded entry door, and off an interior courtyard, faced only by other apartment entries and a small desktop printing concern which created no disturbance. There was absolutely no traffic noise.Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

We had a great time in Paris and this apartment has a perfect location. The Republique Metro stop has several trains running through to connect you with the rest of the city. There is also a fabulous little bakery around the corner with inexpensive sandwiches for lunch. The apartment was clean and well equipped. The only negatives was that the upstairs neighbors were a little noisy and the bed is a little hard. Other than that we were extremely happy with the flat.Did you find this review helpful? Our family of four enjoyed a week in Paris at the end of July, and the apartment was perfect for us. The location is excellent, in a non-touristy area but easily accessible to wherever you need to go, and being back off the street behind two courtyards ensures quiet when you need it. Philippe was delightful and helpful. In addition to the comments of others, which capture most of what you need to know, I would like to add that we were grateful that the apartment has fans to keep you comfortable when it's warm. Also, we appreciated Larry's clear communication and reliability both before our visit and after, when our deposit was returned very promptly. We hope to return!Did you find this review helpful? We stayed at 21, rue Beranger in July during Bastille week last month, for 8 nights. We had a fantastic time. We concur with all the other guests' positive comments. The apartment IS as advertised-- spacious, comfortable, clean and well-equipped. It's at a great location, very close to the metro but on a quiet street, making it calm and secure. It's close to all amenities (ie, the all important boulangerie, just around the corner and the Monoprix supremarket, a little farther around the corner). And it's very well priced! We were grateful for all the conveniences of the modern kitchen as we cooked almost every night. Practically everything you need is provided. We slept very well in the large bedroom on the comfortable, queen-size bed while our son enjoyed his hide-a-bed armchair in the living room. We liked having both the shower and the separate, relaxing tub in the modern bathroom. Also available were tourist guides for Paris and surrounding areas, French/English dictionaries, as well as free internet which we used often. They've really thought of most everything to accommodate visitors. Furthermore, we really appreciated the old world ambience of this 19th century home. We loved the 10 ft ceilings, the parquet floors, the large stained glass windows and their shutters and the cobblestone courtyard, where we imagined the original owners arriving home in their horse-drawn carriage... Philippe was awesome--gracious, informative, accommodating and quick to respond to emails. He was there to welcome us and meet our needs when we arrived and he showed us how to operate the appliances. As he commutes around the city on bicycle, he gave us some very good information about cycling in Paris. We had brought our bikes to ride when we left Paris, but Philippe told us that Paris is now very bike friendly, and encouraged us to ride our bikes especially in the designated bike lanes that are shared with the city buses. We were a little hesitant/apprehensive at first because of all the traffic, but as Philippe assured us, drivers do indeed acknowledge cyclists. We biked every day to all the major sites (the Louvre in less than 20 minutes, the Eiffel Tower, l'Arc de Triomphe...) The courtyard provided a good place to lock up our bikes at night (by the Masterlock), though there was no protection against the rain. Having used the metro on previous visits to Paris, we canDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

Myself and my two teenagers stayed here for a week and were quite comfortable. The property was clean and easy to locate, both welcome features after an overseas flight. We didn't find the neighborhood restaurants until the last night, but enjoyed them thoroughly! The bakery on the corner was fantastique! The convertible bed was disappointing for my teenage son who eventually just slept on the couch. The owner was fabulous to work with, very prompt and professional. Philippe was helpful and very friendly. I would stay here again.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

Our 5 day stay in 21 Rue Beranger apartment was delightful. It is roomy, kept spotless, well stocked (prior guests leave all sorts of goodies in the kitchen), terribly convenient because of Place Republique's many metro lines, and it's ground floor location saves many steps and dragging suitcases up narrow spiral staircases. Books, videos, and all instructions in English made the stay more pleasant. And loved the quiet. One evening a full rock concert was going on a block away and we didn't hear a thing. Also a wonderful Monoprix around the corner with all sorts of gourmet fixings for meals at home. Would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.Did you find this review helpful? Spent a week at the apartment in March. It is exactly as shown in pictures. Lovely! We found it very convienent to all of Paris! The weather in March was mild and the lines at all attaractions were ZERO! The furniture is comfortable, kitchen well equipped, previous guests- as well as us- leave all kinds of cooking items for your pleasure. After touring all day, we did eat dinner in about 3 nites- and always breakfast and coffee.Philippe is a wealth of knowledge, and arrived our first night on a bicycle in a full Morning Suit! (from his regular job at the opera) Looked so cute I only wish I had taken his picture! The neighbors all speak English and are helpful too.Very quiet and safe!We used Parisshuttle to get door to door service from CDG.80USD r/t for 2. Got a weekly metro card for unlimited use on all transportation for 21euros each- Really a great location.I had a recent hip replacement and found the apt to work well for me. Our only disappointment was that the cptr.was older and not able to send emails home- was able to recieve them though, and it worked as far as looking up train schedules etc.Used a calling card from home to call- just as I could anywhere. Apartment is spotlessly clean as well. I have told everyone what a great deal this is- and now I'm telling YOU! Go for it! I hope to return again soon.Did you find this review helpful? We just returned from having stayed in your apartment for 2 weeks in January 09. It was one of the most wonderful experiences that we have had in all our travels. Everything was in perfect order and well appointed in every detail. The location was perfect for getting around on the Metro. The shops nearby were excellent and our favorite stop each morning was at the Boulangerie and Patisserie for cappuccino and croissants while making friends with the owner's little dog, Le Pardo. Staying in this apartment made the trip to Paris a first-class experience! We'll definitely want to return.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

We just returned from a week in Paris and I wanted to say how much we enjoyed the apartment. It was bigger than expected and everything was well equipped and very clean. The apartment was very conveniently located with the subway just around the corner. Once we figured out the subway we went everywhere in Paris. The Monoprix was a 2 min. walk and I found the prices for food to be quite reasonable. Lots of information about Paris in the apartment. This apt. is a true gem and we'll definitely rent it again. My daughter & I did some clothes shopping in Paris and I found a store called AT (Armand Thiery) lovely clothes with good prices. My daughter shopped at the shopping mall, Les Halles, and had good success. We also took a double-decker bus tour and this was a good idea because we didn't have alot of time in Paris. Again, we'll certainly rent this apt. again.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

I checked out many Paris apartments online before choosing this one. It appeared to be, by far, the best value. We wondered whether it could be as nice as described for the price and we were a little concerned that it seemed more out of the central area than many. We were pleasantly surprised. The apartment is large by European standards and it is very well equipped. The laptop computer and DSL connection was a great amenity. The location turned out to be perfect for getting around to all of Paris as the Republique Metro station is less than one block away and you can go anywhere in the city from there. We enjoyed being in a Paris neighborhood rather than in the middle of the major tourist areas. Although it was a very busy traffic area, once inside the courtyard, all the street noise disappeared. We enjoyed the peace and quiet of the apartment building after a day in the busy city. As it turns out, the apartment is not out of the thick of things at all. We found ourselves able to walk to many areas that I thought we would need to take a bus or Metro to. You might not want to cook with all the great restaurants available but if you do, the apartment has most everything you would need. A few blocks away is an incredible market called MonoPrix and in the other direction on Rue de Bretagne there are wonderful shops with fresh meat, seafood, vegetables and cheese. I wished we had found this street earlier in our stay. Check out the binder in the apartment. There are some good restaurants not far. Try Chez Janou. The owner is very responsive. He provided great communication during the process and we received our deposit back several days after our return. Philippe, the concierge is very helpful and responsive as well. We emailed each other several times during our stay to get advice. He helped make restaurant reservations for us in French. I might be tempted to try another part of town on my next visit although I think I would be hard-pressed to find such a great deal. I’ll probably find myself staying here again and I’d be happy to do it.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

An exceptional value and a real gem. This property has it all. Space, privacy and quiet, yet convenient to the Metro and shopping. Located within an inner Courtyard, it is secure, and offers a respite from the barrage of sounds of the city. We have been to Paris several times, but never had an apartment that actually had space, and a kitchen that was really usable. An added bonus was a laptop computer that gave us free internet access, and allowed us to keep in touch while we were away from loved ones. The completely equipped kitchen was another real surprise that gave us a chance to enjoy cooking some of the local foods in the area markets. And best of all, we paid in dollars and not Euros, which was an added benefit. Communication with the owner was excellent and very responsive. A pleasure to business with. This property would be very hard to beat!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This terrific and quiet apartment was a wonderful landing place for our family of four. The neighborhood is safe and within walking distance of the Bastille and Pompidou Museum. The apartment is just around the corner from a metro station where a number of lines connect, so the whole city is one or two trains away. Our children (ages 11 and 14) were comfortable in the living room with two pull-out couches. The apartment is an excellent value, and we would happily spend another week in this apartment.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

The apartment was a perfect base for our two week stay in Paris. Everything is as represented or better. Larry and Philippe have taken care of everything for the guests' comfort, and they are reliable and easy to deal with. By the way, if you stay here don't bother with a guidebook, map or phrasebook, they have a shelf full -- also umbrellas, a shopping basket, hair dryer, iron, alarm clock, etc. The location is convenient, the Metro, cabs, restaurants, ATM and shopping are steps away, yet the apartment itself in its little courtyard is quiet and peaceful. It was a pleasure to be able to have breakfast and a couple of dinners in our own place.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Dear Larry, We loved our stay in your apartment, (August, 2007), it was very clean, well-equipped and spacious enough for this family of four. As others’ have mentioned, the bakery, Monoprix and the Metro are just around the corner. If you like to walk, (turn right out of the apartment), rue de Turenne is a continuation of rue Beranger, within 15-20 minutes you will reach Place des Vosges and once in this area you are only a couple of streets away from L’As du Falafel on rue des Rosiers. My understanding is that many Parisien hotels have small room sizes so your apartment was an excellent option for us. Many thanks for your kind hospitality. DianeDid you find this review helpful?
