Quiet Refuge in bayside NY
Quiet Refuge in bayside NY
I stayed here for 4 nights. Amy was wonderful. My flight arrived at 6 am and I was at her place at 7am. She still got up and gave me my keys and the rundown on the unit. VERY quiet neighborhood. Great place to stay for a couple.

My husband and I recently had the pleasure of staying in this apartment for a week on our first visit to NYC, and what a wonderful stay it was. The apartment was spic and span clean, comfortable, peaceful, and incredibly tastefully decorated. It looked exactly like the photos - if not better! Getting into the heart of Manhattan by train was an easy 25 min trip. We bought a weekly train pass and were able to ride as many times per day as necessary. We saved ALOT of money by not staying in a hotel, so the fee for the weekly train pass was no big deal for us. Coming from a quiet, small town in the mid-west, NYC can be a bit stressful and overwhelming with the crowds, noise and general hustle and bustle. It was such a pleasure and relief to come back "home" to this lovely apartment and unwind from a long day of sightseeing, walking and shopping. What I loved is that the kitchen is fully stocked with cooking tools and appliances and there is a small market a block away. Restaurants in NYC can be really expensive, so we were also able to save money by cooking some meals in the apartment. Amy, the owner was an absolute doll - very friendly, kind and helpful. The building was passed down to her from her grandparents and she really takes great care of the property. We would highly recommend this place, in fact, if for some crazy reason we would ever have to move to NY, this is the apartment I would want to live in!

About the owner: I love to travel and have had the opportunity to stay in other people's apartments. This is a great way to get to know a new place on a much more personal level and experience how the locals live.
Why the Owner Chose Queens:
This home has been in my family for over 60 years. There are 5 other apartments in this building that I own and I strive to take the best care of the building as is humanly possible.
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment:
NYC is so easily accessible from my home. It is a short walk to the train station and within 30 minutes you are in the heart of mid-town Manhattan. You can enjoy all the excitement and insanity of the city and come home and sleep in a quiet, comfortable, safe bed. There are also many restaurants and bars in the neighborhood, so if you feel like having a relaxing day on your visit you can go take a long walk by the bay, shop in the Bay Terrace Shopping Center, catch a move, and grab dinner and drinks all nearby. If you are driving here from someplace there is also plenty of free parking on the street. Many people drive their cars to this location and then jump on the train to the city so they don't have to deal with city parking and traffic.
