The water is only three to five feet deep in most area's. Or paddle your surfboard out to Chevron's and Bill's Bowl's for some light surf action.

If you would prefer to do a little fishing, the reef is home to many local sport fish such as Weke, Papio, O'i'o, Kaku and the trophy Ulua.

    • It has been a week since we returned from our awesome vacation on Oahu. We rented this house for a week and enjoyed everything about it. The house was perfect, just like the description and pictures on the website. There were many windows which I loved, and provided awesome views!! The beach was great for snorkeling and using the kayak. I even spotted a whale right from our deck- --it was unbelievable!!!! Bill and Nancy were wonderful. They had lights on and some food in the fridge since our flight didn't get in until late on Sunday. They thought of everything!!!! We hated to leave our little slice of paradise. We have recommended this house to all our friends and hope to come back again!!! Thanks again, Bill and Nancy!!! Becky and family from Wyoming

      Homeowner Response:
Aloha Becky and Ohana. We always LOVE to hear that our new friends have had a GREAT time. Mahalo for the comment regarding description, we like to make sure they are as accurate as possible. Lucky you for the Whale, probably the first of the year. It was a pleasure serving you and yours and we hope to see you again. Aloha and Ahui Ho, Nancy and Ohana

    • Thank you for helping us have a great vacation! We couldn't get over the fantastic views. It was one of the most relaxing holidays we have ever taken. We enjoyed the beach at the house, I was worried about how we would get down the rocks to the water. The pictures don't show it, but there are steps down. It was perfect. We enjoyed the deck and the back lawn every day. We used the kayak and snorkeled. We were pleasantly surprised to find the house well equipted with some basic cooking items, dish and clothing soaps etc. Also with candles, the power went out the whole island but we were just fine. Bill came over the next morning to make sure we had everything we needed, bringing a cook stove and using the generator for the fridge. We loved our experience. Mahalo!

      Homeowner Response:
Aloha Cheryl and Ohana. Thank you for your kind words. So pleased that you and your family enjoyed the home, the beach and touring during your stay. Glad you were able to "rough out" the power outage. Personally, I think candlelight is Romantic ! Hope to see you again. Aloha and Ahui Ho !

    • Hi Nancy and Bill: It is now almost 3 weeks since we returned from our vacation at this house and I think I'm finally coming out of my post-vacation blues! We had a such a wonderful holiday that it was truly hard to be back home. The house was perfect for us, 7 adults and 5 tweens and teens. We knew that there was no dishwasher, but I do feel that one would be a good investment and a definite plus to the house. And we did manage to pick up the internet on the weekends, so those of us who needed to email or whatever could. Everyone liked the house, though some thought that the furniture could be upgraded. We all loved snorkeling right out front and saw so many fish! Unfortunately, my daughter did get stung by a portuguese man-of-war, but luckily Bill had just been to the house and told us to put meat tenderizer on the sting! She was fine after awhile. The view and the sunrises will not be forgotten. After reading the comments on the house, I would tell people that if you want a 5-star vacation, this house is not it, but if you want to relax in a beautiful place with your family and friends, it can't be beat. And thank you for returning the deposit so quickly! Best regards, Tracey

      Homeowner Response:
Aloha Tracey, Thank you for the nice review. So glad that you all enjoyed the home and beach. As you said we are not a 5-Star Home but a Great place to bring your family, kick back, relax and enjoy the beauty of the Ocean and the Awesome Sunrises without 5-Star prices,. We look forward to your next visit in the future. Mahalo, Nancy and Ohana

    • We had an awesome time!! The kids enjoyed the calm beach and the adults enjoyed the fishing and diving. We caught a few fish like oama, oio, and kumu. Too bad Sean missed the big one( we couldn't stop the fish). I want to thank you for being so helpful and friendly. We hope to see you next year!

      Homeowner Response:
Aloha Daniel & Company. So glad all enjoyed themselves and that you hooked up during your stay. As for loosing the "Big One", it's been said "it's not the destination, but the journey, but whoever said that has never had Ulua ! See you next year. Nancy and Ohana

    • We stayed there at the end of June and the first week of July with my extended family, including a senior (me) and three grandchildren. If you're looking for perfection...stay home because that's the only place you'll find it. If you're looking for a very nice place to stay while vacationing in Hawaii...this it it. Very close to everything. Even the local neighbors are extremely friendly. Make it a point to say hello to them. It was a vacation we'll all be talking about for a while...all nice things. What little problems came up were quickly resolved. We all loved it.

      Homeowner Response:
Aloha Vincent, We sure enjoyed meeting you and Patrica and your Ohana. Mahalo for your kind commments and we are happy you all enjoyed the house and surrounding area's. We look forward to seeing you again in the future. Mahalo, Bill and Nancy

    • PERFECT! We had an absolutely amazing vacation. We could not have asked for a better view (and an incredible deck to enjoy it). My 4yr old son had the time of his life playing, swimming, & snorkeling at the beach righ in front of the house. Bill & Nancy were both very helpful. I can't say enough about this place! We are already thinking about a trip back next year! My advice is to skip the touristy hotels and stay HERE!

      Homeowner Response:
Aloha Julie, It was a pleasure meeting you and your family. Everyone sempt to be really enjoying the pond in front of the house. We are always happy to help out to make your stay enjoyable and memorable. Mahalo for your comments. See you next year. Mahalo, Bill and Nancy

    • We had such an awesome time with our family of eight. The beachhouse was perfect!! There was plenty of space and the sunrises from the front porch were gorgeous and sunsets were only 20 minutes away and equally beautiful. The location was perfect! It was so nice to be able to walk to the PCC and back home again as soon as the evening show finished. The beachhouse was very private and quiet in the evenings. Bill was so kind and helpful. Bill came over while my wife and I had made a run to the local grocery store and my kids were so impressed with his helpfulness and kindness. He took the time to show them how to spot whales and talked to them about the reef and where to go kayaking. They were way impressed. He even helped filet for us fresh fish from his neighbors the first night and told us how to cook it on the grill (some of the best fish we have ever had). We really enjoyed the kayak and the boogie boards that were provided for us. The kids used them almost every day. The beach house was furnished with everything we needed. The beds were extremely comfortable. This was probably our last vacation with all of our children for quite sometime and the beachhouse along with Bill & Nancy's hospitality was just the icing on the cake to truly make it the most perfect vacation that we have had. Thank you so much!! P.S. I hope you got your fins back. Sorry, my children were just a little to thorough when packing up:)

      Homeowner Response:
Aloha Blackham Ohana. Getting together with family is so important, and to have these memories that last a lifetime are irreplaceable. Bill enjoyed meeting all of you and really enjoyed sharing information on the ocean, activity's, and local fare. He got his fins back (Thank you)and will be hitting the water today to get bait for this weekends fishing adventure. We hope to see you and your family again. Ahui ho ! Nancy and Ohana

    • Bill and Nancy were excellent Hosts. The house and the Beach surpassed our expectations. We shared the house with another couple their adult son and our 2 younger children. There beach was so interesting with the reef and the protected water that my wife and I and the kids skipped a day of planned activities in Honolulu to play at the beach all day. Bill was great at helping me and my friend to figure out how to fish from shore and even invited us to fish with him one evening. Thanks Bill

      Homeowner Response:
Aloha Kevin and Company. We love to hear that our places are a GREAT way to visit Hawaii. Thank you for mentioning that it is not necessary to drive anywhere to enjoy the experience of the Pacific Ocean as there is plenty to do right out your own back door. Bill said he had fun with "Da Boyz" on their little fishing excursion, even though the fish did not join you. Hope to see you again. Aloha, Nancy and Ohana
