We spent Thanksgiving week here and had a very relaxing, fun week. The house was beautifully furnished, very clean and had everything you could need and more. We had 4 adults and 2 kids. (9 yr and 14 yr.) We fished every day and every night and caught tons of fish. We walked across the street to the park every day and played tennis. We enjoyed the community beach and had lunch at the cabana club one day! We went to Sombrero Beach one day and really enjoyed it; we were surprised to see the park and vollyball at Sombrero Beach. The neighbors are very friendly; my son met a friend whom he fished with every day. On Thanksgiving Day we had a surprise visitor...a manatee... this was so cool and amazing to see up close. I have stayed in KCB before and I am so glad we chose this house! We hope to return! Thank you JillianRecommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, people with disabilities, sightseeing.

I have often rented properties to vacation in Florida. Sometimes they don't live up to expectations. This place was the opposite. It was delightful in every way. It was extremely clean, beautifully decorated, and well located. We had easy access to everything we wanted to do and visit. Although waves were a little high on the ocean, we fished every day and brought home a large cooler full of fish. This property was the best value I have experienced in the Keys. Our vacation ended up being a great success, due in part to this house. I would recommend it to anyone who promises to take good care of it.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, people with disabilities, sightseeing.

Truly a home away from home; clean, lovely decorating, and the kitchen has every item you need. The open, updated floor plan is welcoming and functional. We enjoyed eating breakfast and dinner on the patio overlooking the canal; we grilled out several times. The connecting bedrooms worked fine for our family and two bathrooms were a bonus. The Key Colony location is great. You can ride bikes throughout the neighborhood, to the Cabana Club, beach, marina, shops, and sunsets. You are also close to Sombrero Beach, the 7 Mile Bridge, shopping, restaurants, snorkeling, kayaking, and fishing. We did a one day trip to Key West and it was a scenic, easy drive. The park across the street is great for the kids with basket ball courts, tennis courts, bocce ball, horse shoes, and playground equipment. People are very friendly and you felt very safe and comfortable in the neighborhood. Jillian was very nice to work with and gave us many helpful tips about the area which added to our stay. We had a great time and look forward to returning in the future.Recommended for: Families with young children, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

We had a really good experience staying here a week over Christmas. The duplex is fully equipped and everything is new and in working order. The house was immaculately clean and full of nice details that you only get in a house that the owners use themselves. It certainly is not what you expect in a rental. It is tastefully decorated, includes beach towels and has a fully equipped kitchen with all the plates, glasses, tableware that a party of 6 could need and a full set of utensils, pots and pans etc for the cook in the family. For the uninitiated - like ourselves - a duplex has all the bedrooms connected by doors; you walk from the living room to the third bedroom through the principal and second bedrooms, and none of the doors lock. No problem for us but something you should be aware of. However the second and third bedrooms do have doors to a pathway down the outside of the house so that you can get to them from the living room without passing through the other two. The owner (Jillian) is a very pleasant and easy person to deal with. She responded quickly to all our requests and concerns. The house came with a complementary Cabana Club membership which we didn't use, preferring to go to Sombrero Beach where the mangrove island of Boot Key provided a lot of fun for kayaking and paddle boarding but with very voracious insects at dusk. There are so many passages to explore through the mangroves, and we saw dolphins, small mantas etc in the canals. No manatees unfortunately which are apparently normally around this area. You may want to take beach chairs if you plan of using Sombrero. We followed Jillian's recommendation and rented the kayaks and paddle board from Wheels-to-go. We thoroughly endorse her recommendation; they are the nicest and most helpful people to deal with. They drop off and collect the equipment at the house, so it is worth calling ahead so that everything is there when you arrive. Its a pity that the dock does not have a platform at water level to ease the use of kayaks. Because of the dock height getting a kayak into and out of the water requires a bit of planning (and a length of rope) but the dock does have a ladder so you can get into and out of the kayak with no problems. Jillian also recommended Captain Hooks for snorkeling trips, which was spot on. A great outfit which we would certainly use again. We certainly plan of going here for another vacation - but next time for longer, a week is not enough.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

Well, what can I say other than this is the house for you! My family spent an absolutely glorious 2 weeks in this KCB home. We had such an amazing time, that, we're going back for another 2 weeks in March! Our trip came 4 days after Sandy knocked around my home of Ship Bottom on Long Beach Island NJ. What can I say other than this trip was planned perfectly to get away from all the Sandy mess all over my island! Although my husband was not able to come on this trip due to the Sandy clean up, my kids + mom came and had a wonderful time. This house spares no expense when it comes to comfort & relaxation! It is hands down the absolute CLEANEST house I have EVER stayed in being in the Keys! What a nice thing it is to not be skeeved out with gross beds, couches and dirty kitchen tools! AND I will say that for the whole 2 weeks not 1 bug was spotted, and this has NEVER happened to us in the keys! We're used to opening up closets & seeing the big palmettos, or opening the grill & seeing a scorpion. NOT HERE! Spotless! ALL the creature comforts of home, comfy beds, cool breezes, an overall amazing home in the Keys! Every kitchen gadget you could ever ask for is right at your fingertips. All appliances are top of the line, same with the kitchen items. Gorgeous luxury bathroms! When I finally buy in the Keys I'm doing it the way Jillian has b/c it's SO gorgeous & relaxing. Can't wait to get back! Do yourself a favor & stop looking for any other houses to rent b/c THIS IS THE ONE!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, people with disabilities, sightseeing.

My family loved your beautiful Key Colony home. The tropical theme is so much fun and the house is spotless. The kitchen is well equipped and bedrooms are so comfortable. You can't beat the location! The kids loved being so close to the park, tennis courts and Cabana Club. Right on the canal so you can bring your own boat or rent one. We had a wonderful vacation!Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, girls getaway, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

We've stayed in numerous places in the Keys and this home is the one to return to.It is fully stocked for cooking, channel surfing or just reading if you choose to stay indoors. We were so comfortable and the area was very quiet. It's super kid friendly. We brought our 18ft boat and took the family out in the ocean every day. Sombrero reef was so beautiful we snokeled three different days there. Sombrero Beach was really nice with a great playground for the kids and tons of fish. We found Seahorses, big conch shells and tropical fish at Bahia Honda State Park in just 4 feet of water. We cannot say enough about our experience and the wonderful time we had there... especially since our son has "special needs". Jill- We'll let you know about booking next summer when the time gets closer:)Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, age 55+, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, people with disabilities, sightseeing.

We had a wonderful stay at this home,it is just like the picture's posted. The only thing I would say is that their is no hallway, you have to go through the bedrooms to get to your room,or go outside to get to your bedroom, there is a door outside to two of the bedrooms, if you do not want to walk through someones bedroom. So if you go with other couples not much privacy.Otherwise it is a nice home...Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, girls getaway.

We just finished our stay at this wonderful home. We cannot compliment the owners of this home enough. It is so beautifully decorated, every detail in place, rentals are not usually like this. The island theme puts you right in the mood for vacation. There is nothing missing- the kitchen has every gadget, the glassware is beautiful, serving dishes are festive, the kitchen is finished with high quality finishes found in fine homes. The living room is chock full of pillows and throws. Big fluffy beach towels are provided. Full size washer and dryer. The outdoor area is perfectly appointed as well. The owner and her property manager were wonderful and available to help out with any detail. We could never imagine going back to The Keys and staying anywhere else. Don't pass this one by!!!!!!Recommended for: Families with young children, tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway, families with teenagers, sightseeing.
