We spent a weekend here in December and had a wonderful time. It’s exactly what I would want in a ski house - rustic, but comfortable, with a big, warm kitchen connected to a cozy, laid back living room. Together they make a welcoming nucleus to a house that feels intimate but is actually fairly big, with four nicely decorated bedrooms. We spent much of the weekend hanging out in front of the fire and cooking, eating, and drinking in the kitchen/dining room - we didn’t want to do anything else! Though we did find time for some early-season skiing at Killington. During the day, the house gets a ton of sunlight, and even with the leaves off the trees, the views of the neighboring houses are well obscured, so you do have a feeling of being in the middle of nowhere. We would go back in a heartbeat!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Why the Owner Chose Quechee:
This property is in an ideal location, only a 2-hour drive from Boston, MA (our home base). We have been coming up to Quechee for years with our friends and we finally decided to buy our own vacation home here. Quechee is a 4-season resort with golf, tennis, hiking and swimming during the spring/summer/fall and skiing/snowshoeing/sledding during the winter. To us, our experiences in our home and in Quechee represent what New England is all about. We absolutely love this place!

The house has the country feel with all of the modern amenities to make your stay extra comfortable and relaxing. We love preparing meals in the kitchen while our guests lounge in the living room or around our dining room table. We enjoy the variety of choices we have in the area - we can either relax at home or do something active outside. Visiting the local establishments is also a favorite activity - dining at Simon Pearce, listening to live music at Firestone's, walking around Woodstock village, etc.
