We stayed here for a week and we had a great experience. The house was very clean and had everything we needed. Big yard for the kids and nice beach. One negative was the geese droppings. We spent about an hour cleaning it on the first day and after that it was fine. There is a nice dock. We rented a boat but had trouble tying it up because there were no cleats. The fireplace is on a point so there was nothing obstructing the views. The neighbors were very friendly and helpful. Would stay there again with no hesitation.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, families with teenagers.
Owner response: Thank you for the great review. We do have a "bird" inhibitor and I hope it was on the dock when you arrived. Please feel free to reserve again, we would love to have you return.

We booked this in the off-season (Fall 2010) for a small family get-away from the city. The property was exactly as advertised. Cottage was clean, tidy, and well decorated. Kitchen was fully equipped with all the necessities. It actually is larger in life than it shows on pictures. The master bedroom with lakeviews and private balcony was very nice and large. Other bedrooms were adequate, but no views, which is OK, we mostly spent time in the living room and outdoors. The lawn and lakefront is very spacious. We could not get the fireplace working (maybe we didn't know how to turn it on, or there was no gas in the tank, don't know). We made a use of the charcoal BBQ one night. Owners were helpful before arrival by e-mailing us where the shopping and markets were, and other local places. Parking for 2 cars next to the cottage, and for 2 more at the back. Living room had only a small 19" TV, we would recommend to upgrade to a 40" LED screen with a BlueRay player. There were plenty of maps and pamphlets about the area, which made it easy to plan the days at Finger Lakes. We would also recommend the owners make available a non-motorized watercraft (canoe or paddle boat). Beach was nice, very clean, we did dip into the lake in October !!! The dock was large, but we didn't spend time there because nature already took over (bunch of birds had the dock reserved in the off-season). Cottage is on a quiet seasonal road that services about a dozen of other cottages. This get-away from the city was great, and the cottage was very suitable for 3 couples. We would definitely return next time.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, age 55+.
