We landed in Boston the morning of Friday 4/19 - the day the city shut down to search for the marathon bombers! We talked to Laura at length that morning and she was so helpful in helping in getting our party settled and situated at the rental in East Boston. From letting us know where to get food (since most restaurants were closed) to giving us the # to call a cab (since transit was closed!!), we couldn't have been happier with our lodging accommodations while in Boston. The rest of the weekend was amazing and "normal" - transit reopened and we were able to resume our trip and explore the city! The place was amazing for our needs - 3 couples were very comfortable in the 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. And the kitchen and living room came in handy when we were "shut in" on Friday. This place was a true gem and I would highly recommend it to any travelers heading to Boston! Plus - it was less than a $15 cab ride to/from the airport!

We stayed here for one week with our family comprising of 2 adults and 4 kids (7-14 years). The apartment is well equipped with everything you need. It is superbly located with a 10 minute walk to Maverick T subway station for access to downtown. The view is wonderful - we found ourselves returning again and again for another look!! The owner was exemplary in communications. If we get the chance to return to the beautiful city of Boston, then we would use this apartment again.

Spent a great week here in East Boston. The view!!!!!!!!!. You will keep going out on the deck to look at it. Apartment works well. Maverick T is 10mins walk away then 2/3 stops into the city. Some great local restaurants- KO Pies, Italian Pizzeria, Angela's. Excellent communication with the owner who is very helpful. We will be back.

As a family of 5 we have just returned from a fabulous 12 night vocation at this property. We found the apartment to be exactly as we wanted - probably more as it exceeded our expectations. The apartment is spacious with plenty of room for 2 adults and 3 older teenagers. The views from the balcony and the master bedroom are spectacular both day and night and on New Years Eve there can be no better place to stay and see the fireworks. The apartment is within a 10 minute work to the T and really on one stop from central Boston. There is really no need for a car as we manged to shop at the local super market which was a $10 one way but only a 20 minute walk away. We visited a recommended Italian 1 block away which was fantastic value and great service. We did not see the owner but the instructions and advice given were first class. We would recommend this apartment to almost everyone with the only draw back being the narrow staircase up to the apartment. In our case this added to the adventure and the views from the top are well worth it. We loved Boston as a city and the apartment added so much to our holiday. The Evans Family

Great Brownstone in East Boston. Amazing views of the bay and the city.... night and day. Large outside deck to take it all in!! Spacious 3 bedrooms upstairs and open floor plan down...perfect for family or friends to be together. Fun neighborhood with parks and funky little restaurants. Laura simplified the entire rental process and provided lots of "welcome to Boston" info. We will definitely stay again...hopefully soon!!

Great house, great view. We had a great time at this place, very easy to get to and from the airport and even the parking on the street was easy. We had day trips for golfing at nearby courses and found access to the freeway easy as well. Took subway to BoSox game too, and a simple 10 minute walk to the subway station. Apt is located on 3rd floor so walking up the stairs can be a little hectic, but overall we were completely satisfied.

The description should include a clear picture of how many stairs have to be climbed before getting to the unit. You actually had to go up 2 full flights of stairs from the main door. We figured from the street, it was approximately 50 feet to get to the bedrooms. Also the staircase to the bedrooms is missing a banister, which could prove to be dangerous. In regard to security, we were not able to lock the door to the deck nor the window to the bathroom, which was in close proximity to another unit. You had to be "gentle" in opening the main door, flushing a toilet and turning on water in full bathroom. Overall, we believe this unit which has a fantastic view and is close to public transportation, needs some loving care.

Very cool accomodations with a great view of downtown and harbor! I kept being drawn outside to the deck. Place is a little quirky but it was part of the fun of staying in a 1847 building. I would definitely stay there again. Owner was very accomodating and professional, neighborhood was very safe and had what we needed to stock up the refridgerator within two blocks. The T was less than 10 minutes away. Owner provided information on Boston attractions and area restaurants was very helpful. We were in the downtown business district within 17 minutes. The T is the way to travel for a no worry vacation. I found the Bostonians as the most friendly and helpful people I ever encountered in 30 years of vacationing. I highly recommend Boston and this Bowfront in particular!

We stayed in the apartment in boston for a week as a party of 5! When trying to book the apartment I was having trouble getting confirmation for my holidays but Laura was great and was extremley helpful and always answered emails and gave loads of tips about boston and where to find things! The apartment itsself is really lovely! plenty of room for a big party of people, nice and clean and the views from the decking are amazing! We had an amazing week in boston! nice touches such as basket of fruit and clear instructions on how to get keys are a bonus! Laura is great and was contactable by email or phone the entire stay! The apartment is on the top floor and has internal stairs - might not be suitable if you aren't keen on stairs or are a bit unsteady on your feet! For us, the view was worth it! The neighbourhood was very quiet and safe to walk about at night! Good to see "real" Boston and not just the tourist areas! The T stop was a 10min walk from the apartment and for $15 you can get a weeks pass for the T and use it as much as you want! excellent value! Was a real pleasure dealing with laura and staying in the apartment! to be totally recommended! thanks laura!

My two brothers and myself had never taken a "boys only" trip in our adulthood. I have been to Boston many times so I decided to take the guys northward. Laura is an incredible hostess that left us wanting for nothing. A fruit basket greeted us, along with plush towels, soft beds and one amazing view. I am a bit particular when it comes to travel and I was at ease the entire time (from when I booked reservations with her in November all the way through the end of our trip in May). Her communications with me were timely and with quick attention. Her instructions on how to engage the property were articulate and to-the-point. This apartment was just what we needed: three bedrooms with great space. You'll love the shower pressure and the shower head. You'll love dusk and sunrise and the private deck. Don't be dissuaded because this apartment is not in Boston proper. Chances are, if you stayed in the city, you'd be on the T anyway. From this apartment on Jeffries Point, you are three stops away from the bustle of Government Center. A Dunkin Donuts was there to meet us at the Maverick Station to start our daily adventure and convenience stores were readily available to lay in supplies at the end of the day. Your search ends here. The boys and I had a blast and Laura/this apartment were a large part of our experience.

This was our first visit to Boston and what a fantastic one it was. Having chosen the apartment, we had excellent communication from the owner who told us everything we needed to know beforehand. We arrived to a lovely basket of fruit and a fabulous apartment. The harbour view is fantastic and the envy of all to whom we showed photos. It was great waking up to see Boston coming alive across the river Charles. The apartment was really spacious, very tastefully decorated and had everything you need. It really did feel like home from home. It was only a 10 minute walk from the T-line which we used every day and found to be excellent and very good value. There are grocery stores nearby and a pizzeria / pasta restaurant which proved very popular. We really liked being amongst locals so we could see what happens in the real Boston. Boston itself is a great place to visit with so much to see and do (we can recommend the 7 day Go Boston card). We were on the go for 10 hours a day for 7 days and still didn't see everything. I cannot recommend this apartment enough - we will be back, hopefully very soon.

Our group of 5 found this a wonderful place to stay;very close to the subway and all the treasures of Boston. As mentioned previously, 2 flights of stairs to the unit and a few more stairs to the bedrooms, but the views and total living experience makes it well worth it. Wonderplace place to spend time after busy days. The owner(Laura)very quick to respond to questions and problems. A malfunctioning DVD was replaced the same day. Neighborhood bakery and restraurants within walking distance. Will look forward to staying here again. Mary

The property is located very close to the airport, so its convenient getting to and from when traveling. The house has amazing views from the living room, balcony, and master bedroom. It was clean, well maintained, and had really nice extras. Laura (the owner) was quick to get back to me with answers when I had questions, and provided us with a book full of information about the area. I should mention that it is the 3rd floor unit so we would have to walk up 2 flights of stairs to get to the unit, but the views are worth it! Overall, we had a really great experience and we will be re-renting in the future!

We totally enjoyed the apartment, it was perfect for four adults. It is close to the Subway Station and removed after a hectic day of sightseeing. The view is spectacular, whether on the deck or in the master bedroom! The stairs may be a challenge for those less able, however, the reward is the quiet of an apartment so far above street level. We will most defnitely go back to this vacation rental !

The view over the Boston Harbor lived up to it expectations especially the view of the July 4th fireworks. Although the numerous windows allowed for access to the great view there were no blinds or curtains to offer any privacy in the bathroom or to keep out the bright morning sunshine and summer heat. There are only noisy window air conditioners and fans upstairs to combat the heat and no air conditioners at all on the main level. Inadequate cleaning service provided prior to our arrival (crumbs in the cupboards and used paper towel left on the dining area floor). The stairs are quite narrow and a bit sloped so the climb with luggage for any renters with health issues would be difficult since there is no elevator. There is also no railing to assist with the climb to the 2nd level of the apartment which is a bit of a hazard when descending the stairs. Communication with the owner was easy and response time on availability was good. Access to the subway was a 5-10 min. walk and I would recommend buying the Charlie Pass ($15.00 for the week) which gets you to all the main attractions throughout Boston. There are numerous One Way streets in Boston so I would avoid driving.

My family came to Boston for the 2011 Boston Marathon. We have two school aged boys and we stayed for a week to explore the city before the race and the last weekend my two brother-in-laws join us. The house was perfect for all these people. Everyone got their own bedroom (our boys slept in the loft over the master bedroom) and there was a a nice common space where we could hang out and eat together. We did not have a car, we took the T or walked everywhere. Getting downtown was very quick (even on race day). The neighborhood was great with cafes and shops within a few blocks. We enjoyed staying in a real neighborhood instead of a touristy area. We will be staying there again if we return to Boston.

It was just a nice walk to the Maverick T Station and a 10 minute ride to the Aquarium Station located close to all the attractions. The apartment was very clean and well equipped with everything we needed. The views from the bedroom and dining room were spectacular. Laura was extremely helpful and very accommodating. We stayed at this property for Christmas 2010. There were 4 adults in total; myself and my husband and also my parents who were joining us from the UK. It was the first time all 4 of us had visited Boston so we wanted somewhere that had easy access to all the attractions and this place is perfect! Located approx 10 minute walk from the local T station, we could not have found it easier to get into downtown Boston for our daily trips and tours. It is great if you do not want to hire a car like we did. The apartment is a great size for 4 adults and had a well stocked kitchen so we could cook our Christmas turkey. I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a relaxing home away from home so close to downtown Boston and without the expense of all the ritzy hotels.

My wife, myself, my daughter and her husband spent Christmas at this appartment and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The appartment is very spacious and contains everything needed for a base to explore Boston. The view over the river is spectacular and is exactly as shown in the photo. The appartment is very well heated (it was very cold and snowy when we stayed) so we were very comfortable. The nearest "T" (subway) is about 10 minutes walk away and takes you to anywhere in Boston. The only con, if there is one, is the very steep stairs up to the appartment, which did not bother us but may cause problems for elderly and disabled people. The stairs actually add to the character of the appartment as it was built in the 1840's.

Having spent a long-weekend in this rental with my girlfriend and my parents I am recommending this spot to all or my friends as a little secret, off the beaten path, and as a bargain for the asking price. As a first time visitor to Boston the location was quite convenient. Only a 15 minute commute from downtown was essential after long days of walking and restaurant after restaurant. All of the maps and notes left by the owner were rather helpful and were a great insider's look into the better parts of the surrounding neighborhood (303 cafe is not to be missed!). Being that the location was a tad off of the beaten path I was initially skeptical of what we were getting into. To be honest, this neighborhood is not urban-center, hustle and bustle of downtown , and it certainly didn't fit the pastoral reputation of Cambridge. While slightly on the worn-out side the area was family-oriented, had great small eateries, beautiful parks, small local-owned markets, and felt like a safe and inviting neighborhood. For those who don't need the hand-holding of a Hotel and want to understand want a real experience in Boston, this is an absolute must-stay rental. We're already planning a trip next year!

This property was incredible. I spent 4 days in this property with my wife and 2 other couples and we found it to be the perfect place to stay. There was plenty of room for everyone, we all got our own room and own comfortable beds. The kitchen was perfect for having breakfast in the morning and heading into Boston for day trips. The condo is a few minutes away from the subway which is one stop away from downtown Boston and the aquarium. The rooftop balcony has one of the best views of Boston, the pictures of the harbour and Boston skyline were terrific. We met one of the neighbors below us who was very friendly and helpful. The property manager Laura was also great, she left us a basket of fruit to welcome us, maps to most of the locations we went to, menu's to the best restaurants in Boston and other little things that made our trip. I would recommend this condo to anyone traveling to Boston

I stayed in this great home in July with my wife, mother in law and 3 kids. It is a very short walk from the Maverick subway stop 5 minutes away. The place is very comfortable with memory foam beds and a huge deck with an amazing view of the harbor. The owner is very hospitable and even takes the time to recommend restaurants and things to see. She even left some fruit and special soaps for our arrival. If you are looking for a really unique place to stay then this is it...definitely not just another boring hotel!!!! Thanks, Mark Ware
