A rare light-filled contemporary in the historic district, it is a two-block walk to the top of Canyon Road and ten minutes on foot to the Plaza. This is the fourth of four units, located at the back of the property, very private and quiet, and surprisingly light-filled. Although the owner lives in town, she is very respectful of her renter's privacy, but she is easily accessible and charming. On arrival I had one minor glitch [no TV reception] which she corrected immediately and graciously. The main room is generously scaled, with a high ceiling, giant clerestory windows, and skylights, and a sunset-facing glass wall. Despite all the glass, the courtyards keep it secure and private. The kitchen is well equipped, and has quality appliances. Both bedrooms feel small because of the king-size beds, but are fitted with excellent mattresses and linens. The 2nd bedroom is completely separate, connected via the covered courtyard, providing the user with a lot of privacy. The 2nd bath is spacious, with a large stall shower. With no TV or even night tables [king bed!], this room is a little monastic, but still appealing. Bath #1 is a straightforward layout with a little challenge negotiating the Euro-style tub enclosure. The polished concrete floors have radiant heat, which is a plus for people and pets. In addition to the charming owner, great light and space, and an interesting layout, the decor is spare and restorative. There are just enough local pieces to remind you where you are, but that dread 'Santa Fe Look' is kept to a minimum. The lighting throughout is excellent, with dimmers everywhere. The modern kiva fireplace completes the mood, but keep the front door open a crack for flue ventilation [the door between the car-park and the courtyard locks]. Some of the furniture is eccentric and/or nearing the end of utility, and the TVs are hysterical. However, the Wi-fi works perfectly, and, when you visit SF, TV is not such a big deal. On those days when I had to stay in and work [even while on vacation], I realized how nice is was to be in those rooms. And it was especially so to walk home after dinner to this softly-lit piece of architecture. My first impression upon arrival was, wow, I'm lucky to have found this place, and it got better every day. The overall feeling is friendly, used and useable, comfortable, causal, and ultimately, very difficult to leave.

Location: close to everything and yet so private! Comfort: You may not want to leave; it's so comfortable and convenient. You'll love the wonderful beds, the spacious baths, the covered patio and outdoor dining, the extra touches, the teas and spices, the great equipment, that make it feel like home. Style: a beautifully designed space that exceeds expectations. If you're lucky as we were, you may even take a yoga class with the talented owner, who makes special efforts to make your stay lovely. This is a wonderful sanctuary indeed to return to after all your Santa Fe adventures.

This place is wonderful and the owner is very accommodating. The other reviews have covered almost everything. I would add that the beds are among the most comfortable I've ever slept on. For visitors who may be a bit nervous about staying in a strange place, be assured that this condo is very private and safe. The courtyard has a locking door and secure fence, in addition to the unit itself having locking doors. The walk to the Plaza passes through shady neighborhoods and historic homes but might be difficult for anyone who has trouble walking on uneven walkways. A large vehicle might have trouble maneuvering in the small parking lot. I would definitely recommend this place to others.

We travel a lot and have stayed in many accommodations. This is, by far, our favorite yet! For us, the location was perfect--close enough to the galleries and historical sites, yet quiet and very private. The condo is very clean and nicely decorated with a European feel. The beds, kitchen, and washer/dryer truly made it feel more like a vacation home than a vacation rental. The private entrance to the second bedroom is perfect for two couples. The owner is extremely accomodating (the hostess basket is such a warm touch).; and she is easy to contact. We will definitely stay there when we return to Santa Fe.

We recently returned from our second stay at this lovely location and found it even better than the first visit. The owner is always helpful and had placed fresh flowers and bakery goods for us. The fireplace is lovely for chilly nights and mornings and the location is perfect. Quiet and serene but within minutes of Canyon Road and the plaza. The kitchen is excellent with highend appliances and cookware. The convenience of having a washer/dryer is a bonus for extended stays. The beds are wonderful and the area is totally quiet. We were there for a week and will cedrtainly return soon. We would highly recommend this location to visitors to Santa Fe.

The pictures do not do this place justice. In the land of overdone/kitschy southwestern decor, it's not easy to find a modern and tasteful rental such as this. Very high ceilings provide an open and airy feel not obvious from pictures, yet the courtyard provides a cozy sense of security and privacy. The two bedrooms are completely separated with the guest room and bathroom having a separate lockable entry off the courtyard from the main home... nice if you'd like a bit of privacy from your guests. The property is in a quiet and upscale area within easy walking distance from Canyon Road, which has some world class (and not so world class) galleries and some good restaurants. It's about a 30 minute walk to the Plaza area, which is a bit far but it's a pleasant walk. Our host provided us with a few goodies in the fridge and warm and welcoming despite our late arrival, though a request for an exact time of departure was a bit intrusive. A vase full of lilies on the dining room table coupled with Mozart playing on the stereo when we arrived were nice touches. The beds were very comfortable and bed linens were high quality. The shower door in the guest room was broken but we were advised of this -- water pressure in the shower was disappointing. Though we did not use it, the television in the living room is comically small, however, a larger TV resides in the master bedroom. As far as restaurants in the immediate vicinity, The Teahouse is a nearby (you guessed it) tea house and coffee shop that had some tasty and unusual breakfast options. El Farol, a Spanish tapas restaurant nearby, was very good and had excellent live music, though it is on the pricey side unless you sit in the bar. I've stayed at many VRBO properties and I'd say this one definitely met my expectations overall and exceeded them in some areas. I feel comfortable recommending this property to friends and relatives visiting the area and, in fact, I intend to do just that.

This rather new architect-designed (very tasteful contemporary) two bedroom unit has terrific high ceilings and lots of light. VERY pleasant. The second bedroom with its own bath has a separate entrance (off a nice courtyard) that makes it perfect for two couples. The courtyard is private and nice. The living area is large enough and well equiped. There is room for two cars to park (a real plus in near downtown-Sante Fe.) This is the end unit of a fourplex but it does really have the flavor of a house, not a condo. It is only a block from the shuttle bus that trakes you to the square and the railroad district. It is only two blocks to Canyon Drive. It is walkable to the square, but especially if you are older, it is nice to have the shuttle. The owner is helpful and the price is reasonable for a nice place in Santa Fe. And Sante Fe is sooooooooooooo great--food, shopping, old buildings, etc. Do not miss the Folk Art Museum--amazing!!! We had a great visit and will be back

This home offers everything you could ask for the perfect Santa Fe experience. It is a sanctuary surrounded by walls on the outside and totally peaceful and quiet on the inside. The two bedrooms are separated by a patio for total privacy. The kitchen is perfect for any chefs needs. There are very comfortable beds with high end accessories in each bedroom. The radiant heat floors are a lovely addition as is the quaint corner fireplace. The hosts are gracious and helpful and go out of their way to accomodate any needs for their guests. We would highly receommend this property for your next Santa Fe visit.

Two blocks to Canyon Road, 10 minute stroll to the Plaza and 60+ good restaurants within walking distance - this place has it all. There was more than enough room for four adults and two standard poodles. Plus, the kitchen was just right for my brother the chef. Having lived in Santa Fe for 12 years and traveled back here regularly the past 20, this is one of the best places we have ever stayed. We're coming back!

Why the Owner Chose Private Homes, Eastside:
I love this place because it is the BEST LOCATION in Santa Fe. It is central, yet quiet. This is much more than just a rental to me. It is my retreat and second home. It feels like a sanctuary for me. I feel so relaxed and rejuvenated whenever I'm there, and you will too!

The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
I enjoy the lovely walks along Canyon Rd to the Plaza and the nearby parks. The proximity to the Patrick Smith Park and the large courtyard make this place ideal for lovers of the outdoors and animals. I provide connections to my personal network for yoga, meditation, bicycling, massage, beauty, spas, well-being, drumming circles, spiritual events.
