Perfect stay in LA!
Perfect stay in LA!
The cottage was a perfect place for us. It was as described and was very comfortable. We enjoyed the outdoor garden very much. The supermarket was across the street. Valerie and Gus were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely return. A suggestion would be to have a fan in the bedroom as the temperature on the days we were there reached into the 90's! Thanks!

Wow! What a destination. Me, my wife and 2 daughters stayed for 2 nights. The Westwood Cottage is much more than can be described on line. It is a quaint cottage with a lot of charm and history. Plenty of space, extremely comfortable beds, very clean. The outside offerings are even better- the seating areas were perfect after a long day in traffic and crowds. A 2 minute walk across a residential street for anything we needed at a full service grocery store was super convenient. And the best part- owners who made our trip feel special. Very honest, sincere folks who make you feel like family. I will return and relive the joy the Westwood Cottage!! THANK YOU!!

What a beautiful hidden home in the city. Easy access to everything and the owners were very friendly. Thanks for the welcome beer Gus! After a long trip from Nor Cal it hit the spot. We will definitely return. Thanks for a great time!

Beautiful cottage and yard for short or long term stay
Beautiful cottage and yard for short or long term stay
We had a great stay at the Westwood Cottage, with our three young boys. The cottage was just as described and pictured in the listing, with an absolutely beautiful yard outside - it's actually a bit bigger than it looked in the listing (hard to photograph well given the difficult angles). The boys loved playing in the yard, and we even took some family pictures there, as the background scenery was perfect. The master bedroom is great, with a nice large bed. It was also very helpful to have an extra, single bed in the master bedroom, if one of the kids woke up in the middle of the night (if we had only one kid, I would have had him sleep there so we wouldn't have to open the couch bed every night). The TV in the bedroom was a bit awkward to use, since it is in the closet, but the one downstairs was great. The bathroom was fine - terrific shower; my husband mentioned that the toilet was a bit small (didn't bother me). There is no bathtub. The kitchen is very well equipped with anything we could possibly need (even with reusable water bottles, which helped a lot for day trips!), and the dining room is nice. It was a bit hard for us to keep the rug in the dining area clean with three little kids - I might have rolled it up if I had thought about it in advance. Great high chair, washing machine and drier, lovely couch. I don't think I would have wanted to sleep on the couch bed for long, as it is a standard, uncomfortable fold-out couch bed, but my boys didn't seem to mind. The wifi consistently worked well, which was important to us as my husband had to work much of the time we were there. The location is terrific - it was so convenient to have Ralph's right across the street (I think we went every day!) and to be able to walk to the Century City mall in 10 minutes. There was always parking right in front of the house, with the permit, though it's important to remember not to park on that side of the street on Friday morning during street cleaning, as you will get a $70 ticket, like we did :(. Valerie and Gustavo were very helpful and friendly whenever we needed anything. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting LA, for short or long term.

Wow, where do I begin? First of all, pictures can not compare to what the cottage and lush gardens look like. Upon our arrival, I was impressed by the beautiful landscaping and how cute and cozy the cottage was. There was more than enough room for my family of four. My kids thoroughly enjoyed the nature scenes, especially the squirrels and hummingbirds. Secondly, the owners were very kind, helpful, and generous with information about LA. We were in Los Angeles for both personal and business, this was the perfect location. It was very convenient for everywhere we had to travel/visit and there was a grocery store right across the street. We enjoyed our walks to the Century City Mall where there's an AMC theatre and great place to get a customized burger at The Counter. Overall, our experience at the Westwood Cottage was excellent. It was clean and well kept. I will definitely recommend this vacation property to all friends and family.

We really enjoyed staying here. It was very comfortable and felt good to return to after running around L.A. The courtyard, where we ate dinner with our daughter in the evening(s) was just perfect. You could hear the crickets and watch the moon as it set between the arms of the all-embracing tree. Great shower. The parking pass is worth its weight in gold. As an added attraction, it's right around the corner from the Annenberg Space for Photography, which was showing the "Who Shot Rock & Roll" exhibit that I definitely wanted to see! I was able to walk over there. A nice place to "come home to."

Peaceful in Los Angeles
Peaceful in Los Angeles
We stayed a month at The Westwood Cottage while looking for a new apartment in Los Angeles, and it was wonderful. The location is perfect, both in the fact that there is a super market across the street, a shopping mall within walking distance and that its central to everything by car. The accommodation is more than comfortable, both in size and amenities, and Valerie and Gus are friendly and responsive hosts. We would definitely recommend it.

Owner response: Rex, Thanks so much for your glowing review! Love it!
We had a wonderful experience at this property. There were fresh flowers on our arrival and the cottage exceeded our expectations. The location was very convenient and walking felt safe. The Century City mall is an easy walk and had lots of shopping/dining options.Cooking in was a welcome change from going out, and made simple by location across the street from Ralphs, and the well equipped kitchen. Sitting outside in the pleasant peaceful garden was a treat in the evening. Our hosts were very helpful--we would definitely recommend this property to friends.

A wonderful home away from home!
A wonderful home away from home!
This is a lovely home set on fairy tale-like grounds with beautiful landscaping. The owners are extremely friendly and very attentive. The house is meticulously clean, comfortable and roomy. The combination of being on a lovely tree lined side street that also has the great convenience of a nearby grocery store, as well as the fabulous Century City Mall within walking distance is hard to beat! The mall has quintessential outdoor souther California setting with a 16 screen theater and many wonderful restaurants, both casual and more formal. We enjoyed every minute of our stay at the Cottage and would go back whenever we are able to! Although it is really a good idea to have a car when in LA, this is one location that because of the places within walking distance, as well as the great service offered by the Big Blue Bus--the stop is a one minute walk, just around the corner from the house--one could consider staying there without a car.

Owner response: Hi Jim and Krystal, Thanks so much for your review. We appreciate it! Best, Valerie and Gus
Our stay at the Westwood cottage was everything I had expected and then some. . The cottage was just as quaint as it appeared on the VRBO site. It had everything we needed and Valerie was responsive to questions. The private feel of the property made it hard to believe there was so much available outside the fence. Having a grocery store across the street was extremely convenient as was having the Century City Mall a few blocks away. We enjoyed a great burger at The Counter at the mall. Just a short walk east is the Arenberg Photo Museum which has a rotating exhibit. We were visiting family in the area so the location was perfect. I have recommended this property to others and they have stayed here and enjoyed it as well. I would definately stay at the Westwood Cottage again.
